I don't know if this would appeal to your parents -but you can have a flag flown over the US Capitol Building in their honor for their Anniversary - yes - there is a man whose job it is to stand at the bottom of a flagpole and run flags up and down it all day long to honor these requests - there is a whole flag office at the capitol and you should see the number of flags sitting in there waiting to be flown or picked up!!!!! (Arranging this for my boss' constituents used to be part of my job)

Wow you sure are.

We are going to DL in the fall of this year - then WDW in January and then WDW and a DCL cruise in April! I am getting an awesome Disney fix this year!!!!!!!!!!!

So, we now officially own two houses! At least we don't have to pay a June payment on the new one, so that's a relief. And while we were eating dinner, a woman pulled in our driveway and took one of our house information sheets out of tube attached to the for sale sign.

Denise, thank you for taking the time to post an update on Rees. I hope you are starting to feel better, and you all are in our prayers!

Tammi, I have no experience with planning anniversary parties. I do agree with the sentiment of it not being a surprise though, so that they know you are taking care of things. I'm sorry Shane's vet estimate is so expensive. It sounds like a procedure that has to be done, but I know what a hit to the pocketbook it is!

Paula, love your pictures! Glad you had fun!

Anne Marie, your girls are beautiful!

Jennifer, I hope the studying is going well. I would suggest getting a trim or something to "spruce" up your hair (not that it needs it!) before your trip, but don't play with the color until after.

Kate, I hope you're taking an antibiotic for your sinus infection...I know how you are about taking medicine!

Dawn, how did things go today?

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated
the Earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow and red
vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives.

Then using God's great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and Krispy Creme Donuts. And Satan said, "You want chocolate with that?" And Man said, "Yes!" and Woman said, "and as long as you're at it, add some sprinkles." And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan smiled.

And God created the healthful yogurt that Woman might keep the figure that
Man found so fair. And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and
sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 6 to size 14.

So God said, "Try my fresh green salad." And Satan presented Thousand-Island Dressing, buttery croutons and garlic toast on the side. And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.

God then said, "I have sent you heart healthy vegetables and olive oil in
which to cook them." And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man gained more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof.

God then created a light, fluffy white cake, named it "Angel Food Cake," and said, "It is good." Satan then created chocolate cake and named it "Devil's Food."

God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose those
extra pounds. And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man would
not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and
cried before the flickering blue light and gained pounds.

Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with
nutrition. And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy
center into chips and deep-fried them. And Man gained pounds.

God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still
satisfy his appetite. And Satan created McDonald's and its 99-cent double
cheeseburger. Then said, "You want fries with that?" And Man replied, "Yes!
And super size them!" And Satan said, "It is good." And Man went into
cardiac arrest.

God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery. Then Satan created HMOs.

off to bed. my parents arrive tomorrow. The surgeon told me I sound like I have severe bronchitis or pneumonia (I know, I ignored myself to care for Rees). Have a 3:30 doctor's appt. I won't be around until Tuesday.

Paula, just had to say how absolutely GORGEOUS you looked in your dress uniform!!!!!!!!!!!! Hottie DDA Chick! And your DH is pretty easy on the eyes too...

Amy - Congrats on the house! I know how it feels. We owned 2 houses for a while. It was not fun, but eventually, we sold the old house. Enjoy your weekend away! Try getting some rest while you are away from "real life."

Okay - so Amy busted me - of course I didn't go get meds!!! But I am taking benadryl and it seems to be relieving the pressure! I had the luxury of being able to sleep late and nap with Nick the past two days! Whenever I start to get sick - I believe strongly in babying myself for a day or two until I start to feel better!

Congrats on the house closing! I hope your house sells soon - you are in a great school district and convenient location!!

Denise - let your parents spoil your kiddos this weekend and then spoil yourself!!!

Hi, all.

We just got home. Rees did very well today, and I was so proud of him. He had the ultrasound at 9am this morning, but didn't get taken for the Endoscopy until 2pm. It was a really long day for him. As far as weight, Rees has lost another pound in one weeks time.

After the Endoscopy, the surgeon said the esophageal Diverticula was very small and the Fundo actually looked fine. However, on the Abdominal Ultrasound, they found that Rees' gallbladder is completely full of bile "sludge". The surgeon said it indicated an Acute Gallbladder, meaning the symptoms appear suddenly. A gallbladder attack mimics all the symptoms Rees has been having. So, on June 5 (unless something else changes) Rees will have surgery to remove his gallbladder and clean out all the bile ducts. The surgeon will try to do it laparoscopically if he can. Rees will spend one night at Egleston Hospital and have a week recovery at home. John and I are so hopeful that this may be the solution to Rees' pain.

Thank you all so much for the emails, calls, and prayers. We will keep you updated as we find out anything else.

Gall bladder pain is extreme. Poor Rees! That would be a much simpler thing to fix. I had a lap chole in January 2005. It was on a Monday evening. I was home Tuesday morning and felt much, much better by Friday. I wasn't in horrible pain in between--just very uncomfortable. I will pray that this is the fix for Rees and that he has an uneventful surgery and easy recovery.

I think we are finally ready to at least book our hotel for nov. dec. I have a question though can you book a package through AAA. The room rate is 111.xx compared to 139 without the AAA discount. I am thinking about waiting on the airline tickets to see what southwest will give us. Is this a good idea. airfare right now is a little over 1,000 for the 3 of us.
