that sounds like FABULOUS news!!! Funny that we would be so excited Rees has to have surgery but it seems so much easier and less complicated than the fundo!! We will continue to keep Rees in our prayers and hope that this brings peace to your house and that you have an AWESOME summer!!!

How are you feeling?!?! I have a sinus infection and was so glad I had the luxury of just vegging out today and was thinking about how rotten you must feel running around! I think you need a day at the spa!

on a lighter note: What makes a gallbladder go bad? cause I am thinking if I could lose a pound a week

Denise, it sounds like the gall bladder news is good news. I'll have to do some research to find out what removing a gall bladder means exactly but am glad that things went well with Rees today and that this new direction resolves the issue.

Hi, all.

We just got home. Rees did very well today, and I was so proud of him. He had the ultrasound at 9am this morning, but didn't get taken for the Endoscopy until 2pm. It was a really long day for him. As far as weight, Rees has lost another pound in one weeks time.

After the Endoscopy, the surgeon said the esophageal Diverticula was very small and the Fundo actually looked fine. However, on the Abdominal Ultrasound, they found that Rees' gallbladder is completely full of bile "sludge". The surgeon said it indicated an Acute Gallbladder, meaning the symptoms appear suddenly. A gallbladder attack mimics all the symptoms Rees has been having. So, on June 5 (unless something else changes) Rees will have surgery to remove his gallbladder and clean out all the bile ducts. The surgeon will try to do it laparoscopically if he can. Rees will spend one night at Egleston Hospital and have a week recovery at home. John and I are so hopeful that this may be the solution to Rees' pain.

They get their trophies at dress rehearsal which was a few days before the actual concerts. The picture is of them the day of their show. Katie was in 3 shows (she's in 4 classes, hip hop, jazz, tap, & ballet). Sophie was in 1 show (she is in the preschool ballet/tap class).

We are going to DL in the fall of this year - then WDW in January and then WDW and a DCL cruise in April! I am getting an awesome Disney fix this year!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, hair question!

I am thinking about coloring my hair. Nothing drastic, but I have something in mind a bit different than my natural color.

I've had it 'colored' several times in the past, with highlights and lowlights, but this is too freaking expensive to keep up when the only reason I do it is to change the overall look anyway (I think). But as far as all-over color, I'm clueless!

My question is this -- I was going to do it when I go for a haircut right before the cruise (the day we leave). Then someone told me I might want to wait until after, because the sunlight, chlorine, saltwater, etc can't be good for color-treated hair... so I should wait and give it the best chance for "survival" for my money



Any thoughts? Should I wait? I'd rather have it done for pictures, etc but I also don't want to mess it up.

From someone who regularly colors....definitely wait until after your trip. The sun will fade whatever color you put in.

WOW Denise!!! This sounds like great news!!! I know it is still surgery, but compared to the whole fundo procedure this sounds so minor. Especially if they can do it laparoscopically. I bet you all were so surprised and relieved.

Did they say what would have caused this, at such a young age?

Thanks for the recommendations and advice regarding the anniv. party. Several of the ideas I like, however I don't think they would be all that excited about getting cards from govt officials. I am ashamed to say they have no interest in politics and don't even vote. Heck, after the past few years, I wouldn't even want a card from our president!

I am back! We had a great time!!!!

I just realized that Mark and I only took a few pics together and only had a few other him or I. All the other pics are of all his other classmates. So here is what I have.

Then using God's great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and Krispy Creme Donuts. And Satan said, "You want chocolate with that?" And Man said, "Yes!" and Woman said, "and as long as you're at it, add some sprinkles." And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan smiled.

And God created the healthful yogurt that Woman might keep the figure that
Man found so fair. And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and
sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 6 to size 14.

So God said, "Try my fresh green salad." And Satan presented Thousand-Island Dressing, buttery croutons and garlic toast on the side. And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.

God then said, "I have sent you heart healthy vegetables and olive oil in
which to cook them." And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man gained more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof.

God then created a light, fluffy white cake, named it "Angel Food Cake," and said, "It is good." Satan then created chocolate cake and named it "Devil's Food."

God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose those
extra pounds. And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man would
not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and
cried before the flickering blue light and gained pounds.

Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with
nutrition. And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy
center into chips and deep-fried them. And Man gained pounds.

God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still
satisfy his appetite. And Satan created McDonald's and its 99-cent double
cheeseburger. Then said, "You want fries with that?" And Man replied, "Yes!
And super size them!" And Satan said, "It is good." And Man went into
cardiac arrest.

God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery. Then Satan created HMOs.

I just got back from taking our dog, Shane, to the vet. He has developed a large lump on his butt, next to the tail. So she aspirated it and from what she can tell it does not appear to be anything serious. However, if it keeps growing it could eventually interfere with his rectum and going to the bathroom. So if we are going to have him operated on we need to do it now, before it gets bigger and harder to close. So, the estimate is around $600. The difficult part is that he is almost 15 years old, but really in good health otherwise, except he is going deaf. So I'm thinking this is something that needs to be done.
