what time does your computer say it is right now?

I think DIS time is about 15 minutes behind real time - has anyone else noticed this?

My computer currently says 12:11 and I have it synched with an atomic clock

Yeah.. mine has been like 12 minutes off since DST. I just ignore it :)

OK, so I know I promised not to look up airfare anymore now that I bought mine already :rolleyes1

It is now $433 per person!!
And they cancelled our 7:45pm return flight and put us on the 6:10 PM flight- which was the one I really wanted anyway!!! :Pinkbounc

:Pinkbounc I vowed not to check airfare after I purchased ours either. But I have peeked a couple of times, and I checked SW when they released fares. So far nothing lower! And the flights we are on are more than $150/person higher.

Vicki -- on those HCOE DVD's you bought .... how do they do Spectromagic? Is it on there at all? I have it on video but it's not the best quality. I just finished listening to a podcast of all of the electrical parades in the past, around the world, etc and just realize I need a good quality DVD of it in case it ever goes away! Thanks!

Tia -- I hope your grandmother recovers quickly!

Amy -- good luck with all of your weekend projects. I'm not sure Kate will use that as an excuse not to make cookies though! You better get that approved, I would hate for you to be turned away! ;)

marcij...why in the world are you dressing as a beaver?!?!? When I read you and a friend were going to make BEAVER TAILS this weekend of course my Disney soaked mind went straight to Epcot and Canada and those delicious treats!!!

Baloo -- you are too funny! The COSTUME is for my DS for his Narnia play. He is Mr. Beaver!!! Beaver tails (Epcot) just aren't on my diet right now....

The school carnival was tonight and I am so glad it's over!!

I have a conundrum: We have friends that we have known since Abi was in Kindergarten (4th grade now). The last two times we have seen this family I have been worried about the kids (4th grader, 5 YO, 2YO and 9 months). The kids have been unkempt bordering on yucky....in fact there was something in the 5 yo's hair that had me wondering. The 4th grader is sulkier than most 4th graders and has too much responsibility IMO. She is like another mother. I just don't know what to do or say. HELP!!

Then I have a rant: A set of parents let their kid operate a remote tonight (MINE!! even if it hadn't of been I would have said something) while she was eating cotton candy and then looked at me like I had 3 heads because I asked them to stop her.

Is Abi friends with the 4th grader? Could you start by having her over more often or inviting her out with you? She is at a very important age as far as needing someone stable and caring in her life. Maybe as you get closer to her, you'll find a way to help out the family. How well do you know the parents? Is is well enough to ask if they could use a helping hand?

As far as your rant: I used to sew puppets and dolls and go to craft shows. It was amazing the number of parents who let their kids handle things with messy hands and also make a mess of the displays and not even try to straighten it up.

I tried to keep up with the thread today, taking short cleaning breaks, but at this point my brain is fried, so I'll have to respond tomorrow. Here's a few :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: and lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: until then!

Our meeting with the realtor went well. Our house will officially go on the market tomorrow, so it's going to be a busy weekend of finishing several last minute projects and more cleaning. Luckily, we'll have a nice long break Saturday night when we meet up at Kate's for the cookout! I'm hoping the weather will be like this :sunny:

I'm glad you got a kick out of Alyssa's "headstand." :teeth:

Goodnight my friends (and Vicki...see I was reading! :rotfl: )
Amy :)

Fingers crossed that this weekend brings you serious home buyers!!

Before I head to bed, I am hoping that you can spare some prayers and pixie dust for my grandma (Ruth) tomorrow morning. She recently joined Curves. Two weeks ago Saturday she was doing her workout and did something to hurt her back. Thinking it was just strain she took it easy for a week. When it was still sore that Thursday she went to the doctor who sent her to physical therapy. The pt listened to her complaint and said "you know that sounds just like a woman who was here the other day and she actually had a fractured compressed vertebrae. Soo...they do xrays and my grandma has not one, but TWO fractured compressed vertebrae.

So tomorrow morning she is having a procedure done to help the extreme pain she is in. They will insert a needle between the vertebrea and insert a little balloon. The balloon inflates to put the vertebrea back in line and then they inject a concrete like substance that will keep them in place. She has been told that the pain is better almost immediately which should be good.

In addition to this one time, I am concerned about what this all means for the state of her osteoperosis. This is the simplest event that has ended up with a broken bone for her so it doesn't sound good. It is about the 6th broken bone she has had in the last few years.

Thanks all!! :grouphug:

You don't need two computers, if you opened a new window you could be signed on with two screen names...

 Hi, Paul! We've missed you around here! How is the shoulder?

Does anyone have the Disney Movie Club where you get movies delivered to your house? I'm thinking of joining because they sent me a really good offer and it will give me a way to start buying the movies on DVD (have lots of them on VHS, but want to switch to DVD).

Are there any strings with the Disney Movie Club? Like do they choose the movies they send in the future? Or is it hard to cancel your membership after you fulfill your obligation?

Thanks for any info!

Jennifer

I am a member and just became a VIP member because I've fulfilled my membership. The benefits are actually better now for me. I just got a certificate for a free movie when I purchase one and a free collector's pin with display case if I purchase another.

You just have to remember to cancel the automatic monthly movie. I forgot once and with shipping, it isn't a good deal! Many times if you buy a certain combo of DVD's, you get free shipping and sometimes if you buy one, you get 25% off. I've been waiting until they have both offers at the same time so I get one movie at full price and 4 or 5 at 25% off plus no shipping. Since I'd be buying the DVD's anyway, this has been a GREAT deal for me. I also watch to see which ones they have a super saver deal on and get those at that time.

Prayers said for Grandma Ruth :grouphug:

Thanks everyone for your prayers! From what I have heard the procedure is fairly simple, but I think Meme is a little concerned because it just sounds so odd. When the PT said they would inject "concrete", I think that it threw her for a little while. Now, she can't seem to get past that part. She should be back at home and good as new as early as tomorrow so that is good! I just told her that this had to be better and faster than the time she broke both wrists within 4 weeks of each other. Not fun for a woman who lives alone!

ETA:
Hey, 24,000! How did I do that?!?! I'm never around for a milestone!

YEAH!!!! :cheer2:  :cheer2: (Sorry guys, that's the closest to designing that you get from me! :teeth: )
