Forgot to add that in this photo it looks like there is a top zipper.

Jennifer

It is! I just looked at it again (for the fourth time today) and finally noticed this: 19 x14 natural canvas totebag features The Art of Disney Friendship characters and a Tinkerbelle zipper pull.

Well, the computer gods were obviously not listening to you.

I got all set up to do my presentation, and was taking notes on the other student who was presenting, when all of a sudden my computer shuts down. Completely. It wasn't the electricity, because the lights stayed on and the TV in the other room was on; just the computer. I panic, turn the computer back on and, as fast as my fingers can, I log back on to the University site. I calm down as I realize the other student is still presenting, so I take a couple of deep breaths, and....yup, you guessed it, the computer shut down again. I repeat the above steps, with an added emphasis on panicking, get all set up again, and the computer shuts down again.

This time, I know I'm missing my turn to present, so I grab my cell phone, and call the professor. He's understanding, and agrees to help me record my presentation tomorrow so he can put it on the Discussion site, and I won't be out any grade, since it's not my problem.

Let's just say it's not the way I wanted it to go, but oh well! Life goes on, right! Someday I'll laugh about it. Well, I'll probably laugh about it tomorrow morning, but right now, I'm just flummoxed! :confused3

Sorry to hear about the computer issues, and at least the professor is understanding. I love the word Flummoxed. Hopefully tomorrow will go better.

I had strings
But now I'm free
There are no strings on me
Hi-ho the merry-o
That's the only way to go
I want the world to know
Nothing ever worries me
Hi-ho the merry-o
I'm as happy as can be
I want the world to know
Nothing ever worries me

:yay:

Absolutely too funny that this was the song of the day because I said hi ho cherry o, because something had cherries on it next thing I know my manager was singing this song. She is not a Disney addict just very much into songs and music. :rotfl2:

So I really don’t want to post about my last week as it will probably bring me to tears again but I feel I need to update my DDA family and also to get some of these things off my chest to perhaps reduce my stress level. Becky

Becky -- I am going to tell you what I tell my DDs... "I can't tell you what to do, but I can help you work through it by listening."

Don't ever feel as if you have to apologize when you come her to vent. We are great listeners.

Please take care of yourself. And come on back when you have time.

I would love to go and one day renew my vows. In my dreams is where I will see it happen. :cloud9:

After the wedding, we stop for the night at a hotel and start getting ready for bed (me in the special night wear) DH goes into the bathroom and sees a cockroach so he kills it and flushes it.....down the commode. It overflows and we had to get dressed and move into another room :lmao:

Sounds like we all have great wedding night stories.

Our reception was supposed to go from 6-8, but actually ended up going from 4-11. My sister and I had a double wedding, and my dad is extremely popular! We had people from all over the country come, and we couldn't just stop the reception without visiting with all these people. Finally, we make it to the hotel, DH has paid in advance for a "jacuzzi suite", and it takes the front desk people a LONG time to get us checked in. We finally get to our room, open the door and stare with our mouths hanging open. The bed is stripped, and all the covers are thrown all over the room. In the kitchen area, glasses have been used (lipstick on them) and left in the sink. The jacuzzi had been used recently and not washed out (there was a soap ring and hair in the drain. Ewwwww.) DH immediately calls the front desk and they say they'll send someone down. 45 minutes go by and no one comes. DH calls again and this time the desk clerk comes in and takes one look and just about faints. He cleans the whole room himself, apologizing profusely that he can't give us another room, as they are booked solid. He tells DH to talk to the manager in the morning, as we should definitely get our money back or some kind of compensation.

Next morning, as we are checking out, DH asks to talk to the manager. He comes out of his office and we explain the situation. The night desk clerk is called and he corroborates the whole thing. The manager refuses to refund the money, or do anything stating, "You should be lucky you even had a room. There was some big function at the Shakespeare theater and all the hotel rooms in town were booked." Alan looked at him and said, "That was my wedding." We walked out and never looked back. I did get my revenge, though, as I was constantly asked for hotel recommendations in my job that summer. I always said the same thing, "Whatever you do, DON'T GO TO THE COMFORT INN!" They went out of business at the end of the summer. When you are in a town that is dependant on tourist dollars, and no one comes to your hotel, you are out of luck! :teeth:

Somebody was looking for Spectromagic video, here are two I found on line. I am not sure if they are the same as what you have already seen.

Spectromagic

Spectromgic Video

Hmm. speaking of Spectromagic I don't think I have the music for it. I will have to go and check but perhaps I will be adding this CD to the May DDAer's trip list.

I had heard wonky before, but a new one for me was when my dentist's assistant called something caddy whompus (I have no clue if I spelled that right or not).

cattywampus
(adj.) A slang word meaning awry or askew, as in "the newspapers were all cattywampus" on the floor. The word cattywampus may be used to imply crazy or chaotic

I use that term!

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry to hear that! You were so ready for it too :guilty: I'm glad he was understanding, and hope that once it's over you can laugh about it!

Denise -- I'm so glad the package arrived and worked its magic. Rees has had to go through much more than any child should have to. I know B-K and Davis suffer when he does, so I wanted them all to have a distraction. I meant to do this back when they got their tubes, but didn't get my act together. I'm saying special prayers for you all for tomorrow and the acidic diet weekend.

Isn't that what Sisters (Gamma Phi) as well as friends (DDA) should do for one another? Support, protect and love.

Jennifer (Tink2020) -- when my kids say something at the same time, they say Jinx -- you owe me a soda. So I'm saying to you, "Jinx -- you owe me a soda," and I hope we get to enjoy one together one day.

If we're ever in the same place at the same time, I'll gladly hold up the deal! :goodvibes

Hi all - two things quick:

Here is the letter that I plan to send to the Vice President of Operations for the Magic Kingdom. Please critique and comment. Second thing will be in the next post..

Looks just about perfect, Marti. I cannot think of another thing to add

Ok, DDA listen to this story. Apparently the brain travels to the family members as well, somehow :confused3

I was telling my family about about "wonky" at dinner this evening. And IMMEDIATELY, my dad says "well, caddy whompus is a word too, but when I used it at work they thought I was nuts". I really thought I had alread told the story or something, but nope -- he was just ahead of me! :rotfl:

Ok! The puzzles are done, all 7 of them! They sort of read like a greeting card, but I'm proud of the way they turned out. Well, the words anyway -- the actual 'designs' are pretty lame since I had to do it without the use of a computer to hide behind! :rotfl: Also, the one that was supposed to be a photo was not worth the effort. I ruined two puzzles trying to figure out how to separate the pieces with the picture on it. Something just wasn't clicking apparently! :confused3

Any luck with clues? I have one or two from you all, but I'm really terrible at this it seems! I have to get started tomorrow though, or I'll never get all of this out in 6 days!

I'm off to bed. I have a headache coming on so I took my medicine and should be left with no choice but to sleep within the next few minutes!

Have a good night!! :goodvibes

Rees goes tomorrow morning at 7:30am for his Upper Endoscopy and Bravo pH Probe test at Scottish Rite hospital in the surgery center. Rees will have General Anesthesia for the tests, so I'm not sure when we will get home tomorrow.

He has been off the Reflux meds since Wed am. After the Bravo pH probe is placed during the surgery, we will feed him the acidic diet through Sunday morning. We turn in the monitoring device either on Sunday or Monday am to get the results of the pH probe test. Once the doctor reads it, then he will decide if Rees needs to have his Fundo surgery repeated.

Thank you all for the emails, prayers, and calls. I will keep you updated on his progress.

Continuing thoughts and prayers... :grouphug:

I really shouldn't be here as I should be gathering things for my Brownie troop sleepover but I can't resist playing.

Plus I have a cute story to share from my Brownie meeting and a question.

We were discussing what to bring to the sleepover. I said you want to put your toiletries in a bag. Before I could tell them what I meant by toiletries one of the other adults said "But what is a toiletry?" One of the Brownies said it is where boys go pee when they don't have a bathroom, they go pee on the toilet-tree. This had everyone including the girls :rotfl2:.

I went on to remind them how they are supposed to write their name on everything they bring with them as there will be about 100 girls and last year at camp we only had 8 and nobody could remember what belonged to them even though they were supposed to put names on everything. Imagine that with twelve times more girls.

A little while later I told them not to bring to bring a night gown to wear. I said they could wear one if they wore pants underneath. Some wanted to know why not. Before I could answer, one of the other girls said in case your nightgown comes in up the back you don't want someone with binoculars to see the name on your underwear. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: We all lost it, I could not believe it. We were probably laughing for two minutes.

My question, we were going over the day and resident camp brochure. I have really been trying to push getting these girls to summer camp, even last year. One of the girls said her Mom won't let her go until she is going into sixth grade, mind you all of these girls are between 1st and 3rd grade. I then said you could go to Day camp as you will be home at night or perhaps you could go for a short 3 day program.

At what age would you let your kid go to a day camp and what age would you let your kid go to a resident camp? A camp where you don't know the adults but all have went through background checks, etc.

I am asking because I went to a day camp probably before I went to kindergarten. My first overnight camp experience was for a week the summer before second grade, I went with my second cousin to a camp about an hour away from home. The only person I knew at camp was my second cousin who is 2 days younger than me.

I know these girls would love camp as they were begging me to call them in sick from school the next day because they did not want to go home. This is not meant to be judgemental, I am just curious. I know different cultures and families feel very differently about this, as I met people in college who had never slept away from home before or traveled more than 2 hours away from home.

I don't have any kids and I want to know what your opinion and experience is on the matter. Thank you in advance.

Becky

Becky -- I don't have kids, but AS a kid I was a lot like you (as was my sister). We both did day progarms from toddler age on. My first overnight camp experience that I remember was in Kindergarten, and Cassi and I were both doing week long camps (same one, obviously many years apart) by the age your girls are.

Not sure if that helps, but I am in agreement with you! At the same time, my mom has a friend who did not want her daughter sleeping over anywhere (including grandparents, etc) until she was 10.... so who knows? I guess to each his own! I can understand that it would be frustrating though, to get everyone on the same page!

Sorry to hear this Marti :grouphug:

I'm terrible at rhyming, but I'll see if I can find the poem I used to let my DH know about a surprise.

Meanwhile, sweet dreams!
