We're huge CS Lewis fans as well! Have you read Till We Have Faces? I like that one too!

I haven't read that one. I just put it on my summer reading list. We're having a week long family reunion with Alan's family, and believe me, I need several books to help me make it through that week! Bring on the suggestions!

I've got 9 pages to read and I'm not sure if I'll have time. I just finished the Anniversary Cakes. I am no Betty Crocker, but I think they came out pretty good for a girl that has no cake decorating talent.

Do you think this is fancy enough for a 40th party. We are only serving cake, Ice Cream and soda/juice so I want this to look great.

Deb

They look GORGEOUS!!!!! I'd say you have an exceptional talent, not just for cake decorating, but for making people feel special! Your parents are going to love it!

I can't wait to hear the details from the party!

Did anyone mention the Sound of Music in recent posts? I swear as soon as I got through reading I had a combination of 2 songs from it in my head :confused3 :rotfl:

My fault, sorry! But there's worse things to have in your head, right?

My two best friends, Jan & Dede, are coming over today to start our monthly scrapbooking Sunday afternoons. We have been friends for about 8 years now. Our families get together for a Christmas celebration, celebrate New Years Eve together and have at least one summer party together. The three of us girls get together for lunch once a month. We were Girl Scout leaders together but their girls dropped out when they got to high school and three of our 5 girls have graduated anyway. We miss spending time together. I'm really looking forward to the afternoon. We always have fun!!!! We decided to do this together because we need the motivation help plus we want to spend more time together. We will probably not get much scrapbooking done because we all have pictures to get sorted and organized first. Jan, my closest friend, still has years of pictures to get developed. She needs to get them done because she was the troop photographer and we are trying to get everything digital so that I can put CD's together for all the girls (we are still close with several of them). If you don't see me much today, you'll know why.

Wow! At least you are being productive! I've got dinner in the crockpot, and now I'm just planning on relaxing this afternoon. I've got to read 2 children's books, and do some studying for my final, but that will come later. For now, I DIS.

I am looking for orange, purple, and blue (medium blue or navy) Crocs knock-offs for the kids. In Crocs the kids need a size 12-13 (the 10-11 fit snug). Anybody seen knock-offs in these colors? I'm having trouble finding them. If you find any, I'll pay you for them and shipping costs. Thanks for the help!

I went to 3 payless stores on Saturday, and only found 1 pair in a kids size. They were a cute pink tie dye, but they were a size 10-11. Too little for Katie. I'll keep checking though!

Look at these Crocs I just ordered for Julia and Myself

They only come in kids sizes so I am hoping I can fit in the largest one - the lady in the store told me they are about a 7.5 so I am hoping with the dryer trick I can stretch them

Ok those are the cutest things I have ever seen. Did you order them online? I didn't see them in any of the 3 stores I went into yesterday. I want some for my kids. We always do patriotic t-shirts, and these would be so cool!

Wow! My own personal posting party! I've never done that before. I hope that everyone is having a great Sunday!

Jen -

tell Kyle that the reason we started DISing was b/c of Paula's picture for crush - remember Julie and Amy insisted they were photoshopped but I think she really took the picture - so Paula - which is it? I say there is a shadow of the sign (this is the inside picture) on your girls but Julie and Amy want to know what is holding the sign

SO I come in to do a quick check and I see your post. OMG I was laughing so hard.:lmao:

PEOPLE I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE PHOTOSHOP! If I did I would be designing right now, but I am working on it. (sorry for yelling:blush: )

I stapled the sign to Ellie. :rotfl: Seriously I did! ::yes::

I couldn’t figure out how to have them both w/ their hands together like that and then I looked at my desk and BAM! I saw the stapler. Perfect I will staple the sign to her and she will have her hands free.
You guys crack me up!

Quick question: can anyone tell me about what age a toddler would wear a size 5 shoe?

I think that Terra's first pair of shoes that we got when she was about 15 months was a 5. She currently wears an 8.5 and just turned 3yo. She was wearing a 7 at 2yo. Hope that helps!

Well I might get to meet you 1st at the airport! I am hoping to meet Denise there as well :goodvibes

Sounds like a plan to me :cheer2: Let me know what you all decide!

I agree Chanon!

Is everyone going to the 2nd parade? If so, maybe we could meet up for that or the fireworks?

I got them online -

Right now payless is BOGO so I got two pairs for $20!!

When you order them pick in-store delivery - they will send them to the payless of your choice and then you can just pick them up

They said they would not ship immediately - which makes me think they are just rolling them out - so maybe they will hit the stores this summer but there was NO way I was taking a chance on not getting them!!

Very cool! I'm on my way to order them now! Hopefully, I'll be able to squeeze my feet into a 7.5. I normally take an 8. I may have to wear them with the strap up instead of around my heel. Thanks for the heads up!

Love all the pictures Amy! Julie I love my hotdogs burnt as well :thumbsup2

Deb I think you did a fantastic job! The cakes are beautiful :goodvibes

Ok, here are some of my pictures! I agreed with Amy and avoided taking shots of the big girls (although she did get in one, but it's too cute so I might share it still :))
