Thanks for the ideas. We are going to have three travelin' pals. I figure as much enthusiasm as we've gotten, people won't mind getting different ones over the year. Deb, Theresa & I will all be sending our Pals off on adventures. If people want one for their Disney trip, let me know and I'll work that in the schedules.

I am going on the Magic on May 27th if Pal Mickey is in need of a relaxing week after his hectic weekend in WDW with the Queen and her groupies!!
I am also going to Alaska if he needs to see what glaciers are and see the Bears and Salmon etc etc.

So why should this be different than any other day????? :teeth:

Hey, I thought it was Paul that pounces & plays. I didn't realize it was you too. So good to see you!!!!! We've missed you.

I just booked a trip. :cool1: I booked 10 nights starting Aug 23rd for 2 rooms at POFQ with FREE dining. We will likely only go for 7 or maybe 8 nights but I figured this would give me a bit wiggle room since I haven't booked airfare yet. It is "costing" me about $600 in lost discounts and purchasing extra passes but that still sounds like a good deal for the meal plan. I'll have the extra passes to use in the future. And thanks to Beth for telling me that they priced the package at value season rates when value season doesn't start until Aug 27th.

I asked DH if he would rather stay home but he says he'll miss the kids too much for a whole week. I can understand that and I want him to have a good time with his children but I also don't want him being grumpy like last time. He said its soooo boring to ride the same rides he's already been on. I'm hoping to find something for him to do on our Magic Kingdom day(s). There is plenty of new stuff in the other parks.

Has anyone been to the Kennedy Space Center? How old would you think would be good there? I think Lizzy would like it but would Joe(5) be too young?

Congrats on booking.
Make DH a grumpy shirt for everyday and you can just tell him one grumpy is enough!!!! :teeth:

Thank you again for all your thoughtful comments about losing my kitty. Since we still have another cat and a big, black lab, we'll probably hold off on any new animals until Matthew is older. :goodvibes

On a happier note, dinner was quite delicious despite my marinade having a brush with my hair! :teeth:

I can't take credit for the recipe, since I got it off a package of Good Seasons dressing, but I can share it with you all:
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup honey
one packet Good Seasons dressing
one tablespoon hot sauce (I only used a dash though, because Kevin doesn't like spicy foods).

After stirring together all of the ingredients, separate 1/4 of mixture to brush on the chicken while grilling.

Cut chicken into cubes and soak in marinade for at least one hour (two hours in my case). Skewer cubes and grill at a medium high temperature for 10-12 minutes. I turned them once and brushed them generously with the reserved marinade.

I will definitely be making this again...yummy!

Like it, you could add a small mickey in the front with your family where the picture is cut but a great idea.

First, how would anyone know they are blue? Do you plan on showing them off?? :rotfl2:

Well in a true catfight, doesn't clothing usually get ripped off? :rotfl:

:grouphug: Kristine!

I've been to the Kennedy Space Center. I think that it would be very boring for a five year old. In my opinion, a child should be at least 12 to enjoy it. It is much more adult and educationally oriented.

Tia - Did you get the PM?

I did! Thanks! Terra just fell asleep (after getting up at 5:45 this morning  ) so I was just sitting down to revamp a few things. I'll PM you as soon as I get my new ADRs set.

Out of curisosity, how many catfights have you been in, Amy? You just seem to speak with such authority on the matter! :teeth:

I'm caught up! Now I'm off to the gym and then to the grocery for the final items for the trip to Virginia. I'll try to get back on later or tomorrow.

Lovesdumbo - You better have booked with AAA! :teeth:

Would I have gotten AAA discount on the room? I know I have to call and take a few days off when I get my air finalized and I thought it would be easier to just do that myself but if I can get the AAA discount on the room portion I'd be interested.

Loves Dumbo - I'm certain you don't get the room discount, but you still get all your AAA benefits...Diamond Card, Character Storytelling, etc..etc.. (I'm running out of Diamond Cards to mail to you all!!)

Amy - Thanks for the new recipe! I planned on chicken tomorrow so I'll have to try it!

If anyone want's a killer meatloaf recipe just let me know! It came from a 1920's cookbook and is one of the best Dutch Meatloafs I've ever had. (I'm slightly bias though!)

OK, DDA May trippers. I found some sandals similar to the Airwalks in the right size and I think base color. I need to see the colors of your shoes so that I can dye them to match as closely as possible but I can't find the picture of the shoes on the thread. I did find the picture of Kate's perm and the shoes but it isn't clear enough for me to get a good idea of what I'm shooting for. Can you help me find it or post it again please? Thanks. Vicki

Okay, I posted on the dining board, but thought you all might be able to help more quickly. I currently have an ADR for dinner at Boma in October. I have been wanting to try it, but wonder if it is asking too much of Terra. She generally does really well in sit down restaurants and will eat almost anything. However, not having been to Boma or AKL I don't know if it is a little too dark/quiet/adventurous/long/whatever for her. Should I wait until she's a little older or go for it now?

That is cute Kristine. I really like the border you used to draw the Mickey head.

I'm not really an adventurous eater, so this was not my favorite restaurant, but the atmosphere is amazing! Perhaps you can schedule your day/ADR, so you may enjoy some walking around time...the animals are truly amazing!

Also, I'd be willing to bet that if Terra can't find anything on the buffet that really strikes her fancy, your waiter will be able to ask the chef (or the other AKL restaurants) for some good ole' mac and cheese or something!

Amy :)
