Just be there for anything they might ask of you. I'm sure they know how willing you are to do anything possible. The hardest thing was sorting and giving away his "stuff." You might offer to help with that. Time is the best healer.

My mother couldn't do that for years. There is still stuff of his in some of the closets even though she has remodeled the house based on their plans. She did finally get rid of most of his clothes and shoes but I think he still has a drawer in the dresser. It has been 7 years now.

I was pretty numb, and sort of like "it's not happening, he'll be okay" - that sort of thing. What added to the horror was that when the paramedics are called, the police also arrive. I had an L-shaped living room and dining room, and while the paradmedics were working on my husband, a policeman stood in the dining room arch, just watching. Made me feel like they thought I had tried to kill him or something. It really bothered me.

How awful for you! I can't imagine the pain you must have felt. I know it has been years but pixie dust to you & yours.

Becky was drooling over that room! ;) We loved the picture of the little girl painted as a fairy. That was really cool.

Everyone thinks we are crazy for going as often as we do, but I don't care. The kids and I love it there. Dh tolerates it because he knows it makes us happy. I was telling my neighbor yesterday of our DDA trip. She had this look on her face like I was nuts going with 3 women that I have never met. I gave up. Words just can't explain the DDA!

I'm glad to hear it's not just me! I want to take DH for his birthday Jun 1 -4, and I even have a hold on a room, but I am reluctant to go because then I have to explain it to people. We go once or twice a year, and people just don't understand. At least I'm lucky because my DH loves it as much as I do.

Ok, so this is random. For a few days now, I have been going through all these awesome tutorials on Photoshop. I'm still very much a novice, but I just wanted to share a few that I am working on

Hmm.... I can't get them big enough to show the detail (wood frame, etc), and that's half the fun! Oh well. You get the picture! :goodvibes

It has taken me a long time to learn this lesson but "WE ONLY LIVE ONCE!!!" I spent too many years focused on nothing but work. This life only comes around once. It is too short for us to not enjoy every minute that we can.

My mom and dad spent years being careful spending money. They were saving for retirement. When they got raises, it immediately went into their retirement fund so that they could have fun when they retired. Six months after my dad retired at the young age of 57, he died in a car accident. All those years they saved were wasted. Mom has all kinds of money now but doesn't have dad to enjoy it with. I don't want to make the same mistake. Don't get me wrong - I have a savings and a retirement fund but I also am learning to spend some of my money now!

I feel sorry for those people that you have to explain it too. Some of our best family memories have been these Disney trips and we started way too late with our kids. I'm so happy that most of my DDA friends have started this when their kids are young!

here's some more more and Baloo just sent me a few more ideas!! :thumbsup2

3musketeers.jpg

I love this one. It reminds me of my best friends because we call ourselves the Three Musketeers. This whole line is really neat.

I'm off to bed. I have to be up at 3:30am to head on my monthly trip to Lansing. I don't usually have to leave so early but I have a 1pm meeting and with the time zone change that means I have to get up early (or I could have left today which I didn't want to do). I may or may not have time to check in the next couple of days. It depends on if I crash after my meetings from exhaustion.

Prayers & pixie dust :tink: to all my DDA friends especially those that are having to deal with sickness and other negative things.
