Well off to bed...it was a great day! My dad and i went to a local bar/restaurant to meet a bunch of firemen for the dallas/giants game--and dallas won so it made the night better!

Now im exhausted--too much going on this weekend so its bedtime..have agreat nigth

I was expecting an argument, since I had them last Easter and Thanksgiving, and nothing is official yet. Friday, Sat. and Sun. after T-day is his weekend, so I was just 'assuming' that he would press me. Either he has something else planned or just didn't want to fight about it, or is saving up his ammo for Christmas  . Quite honestly, I was prepared to give him Tday if he asked, beings as though Christmas is going to be an issue and I am taking the kids to WDW over his weekend. I've told my parents that I won't be able to make it home since the kids go with him the Friday after, but have invited them down. Haven't heard yet what they will do. Bob's mom will be at his house the week of Thanksgiving, plus he has his DD, so right now the plan is for me and the kids to join them for dinner. If my parents come down I may suggest having dinner here at my house, since there is more room.

Have you met Bob's mom? It sounds like no matter which house you go to you all will have a nice dinner together!
So does XH want the kids on Christmas Eve or Christmas day or what? I think since your trip is just "regular" days he should be a little flexible!

No I have not met her yet. She lives in WV.

I have no idea what he wants, but what I'm willing to give him for Christmas, and what I have been trying to get him to agree to for our formal agreement, is that he can keep the kids Christmas Eve until 8 PM then bring them home. I want them Christmas morning and he can pick them up at 3 PM for the rest of the day. He's not agreeable to this because he will never see them Christmas morning. My response to that is he shouldn't have left then. I just can't imagine getting up Christmas morning without my kids. I'm willing to alternate all the other holidays, but that is my sticking point.

Yikes. Ugly. I can absolutely see your point, but I can also absolutely see him fighting you on it. Is the divorce still pending, or is it final with ongoing revisions to the custody agreement?

Still pending. He just filed in August, so things really are just now starting to get underway. I don't talk about it much on here because I have to deal with it daily. This is my escape where I don't have to think about it. But I brought it up tonight just because I was thrilled about the holiday. It's all just very stressful. I spent the whole weekend filling out paperwork and gathering financial statements that his attorney subpoenaed from me. Long story short is that he is going after me for spousal support and paying his legal fees. As far as I'm concerned he must be smoking dope or something, thinking that he is going to get it. Believe it or not, when I got the original paperwork I couldn't even get upset about it. I actually laughed, thinking how pitiful he was. Bottom line is that it is standard.....ask for the moon and hope to get a moonpie. So that is my life now, in a nutshell.

I am so sorry! I am sorry he is doing this to you and the kids. I feel bad for asking you more about it. It must be overwhelming and surreal.

So no more about that!:flower3:

What are the kids looking forward to doing at WDW in Dec? Has Bob's DD ever been there? What do Nicholas & Alyssa want to show her?

DS was asking me about the Christmas Country Bears show. I told him they aren't doing it anymore, but I keep coming back to the suspicion that he knows about our trip.

DH took DS's friend home this afternoon and the friend's mom confirmed that they are DRIVING to WDW.:scared: :scared1: It's at least 24 hours to Orlando. But there's the manatee thing and the only doing 2 days at WDW thing and the "flying by the seat of their pants" thing. And the friend told me today that his dad hates vacations. This does not bode well for people who will be in a car for more than 48 hours over the course of a week.

Please don't feel bad, Elizabeth. Really, I'm okay. I do have my moments where the stress is just so overwhelming, but I'm strong and I'll get through it.

His dd was there about 2 years ago, when she was 3. I'm not sure how much she remembers or just thinks she remembers. Of course, my kids want to do everything, and we still haven't figured out how to slow down and leave things out until the next trip. Bob actually told me he was excited for our trip! He's up for making the tshirt and even got transfer paper for me when he was out doing errands today. Now we just have to decide if we want long sleeved tshirts or sweatshirts. Last time we went in Dec. we did the long tees with turtlenecks.

It sounds like DS's friend is in for a miserable trip. Well, maybe not from their perspective, but we all know how wonderful it COULD be!

I need to get to bed. Tomorrow is NOT a holiday for me. Have a good night everyone.

I'm glad Bob is looking forward to the trip!! Good luck choosing shirts! The temps right now in Orlando are still 70's during the day and 50's at night, which sounds lovely! It is hard to decide what to do on a short trip if you don't have your next long trip in the works yet. Maybe all of the kids should make a list of 3 "must do" things for each park?

Since our friends will be there with us next month I think "short and sweet" will be good. I am sticking to my vow NOT to get sucked into the shirts. I did buy the Disney Store sweatshirts that sort of match so we are good. We also have the zip-front polar fleece jackets I bought last year (the one I woke DS up at 4 AM to try on :rotfl2: ) so we can bring those if it looks like the nights will be cool.

DS's friend is a very nice kid, and his family is terrific. I wish his mom had really talked with me about the trip (she mentioned it back in September, and back then I really COULD have helped her). Calling me Wednesday to see if she should order TGM was too little, too late. If they really are trying to be budget conscious I don't know how well this will work out. The mom is always going 90 mph so I don't see how she possibly had time to really crunch the numbers.

I only know ONE person who is off tomorrow. And it's not me!:sad2: Hey, the post office is closed, isn't it? I have a stack of bills to mail.

I believe Federal as well as most State governments are off tomorrow which would include the Post Office. Not 100% sure on that one though. I was bummed too because I really could use the day to send some packages. Instead I'll have to take some time away during the week. Hmmm. That could prove interesting.

Deb sounds like you had an awesome day shopping :thumbsup2

Anne Marie happy to hear you all still had a fun day!

Tammi

Anne Marie, I'm so glad you all had a great day anyway! I'm a bit jealous... I was just talking to Kyle 2 days ago about how much I wanted to go to New York again (it's been a while!) and then my MIL randomly suggested she, my SIL and I go for a weekend (in 2 weeks!) ... then took it back because, obviously there are very few hotels there between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Oh, well!

Tammi, you are being so strong! Please know and your children are in my prayers often! I hope the issues get worked out as civilly as possible, especially with Christmas.

Around here, city and county governments are off as well. Lucky dogs! ;)
