Nick's teacher conference was great. He is doing really well and the things that were of "concern" to him were easily expained by his personality. After our discussion they were planning to talk to him directly. He is a very quiet boy (How can that be with us for parents?) and doesn't offer much unless he is asked directly. He always has the answers or insight when asked. They want to come up with a plan to get him to feel comfortable participating more. Both teachers think he has amazing writing skills and want to explore that more. Report cards weren't done yet, but I don't think there will be any big surprises :thumbsup2

Well, there are plenty of us to commiserate with you!

I'm praying for twins!!!

Me too, although I'm trying not to get too fixated either way. One healthy baby is one more miracle than we were expecting a few months ago!

I think waiting is a good idea. It would be nice to tell them how many to expect for NEXT Thanksgiving dinner.

Are you going to have your first ultrasound at 9 weeks? That's when I got mine. All my pregnancies were considered high risk due to the infertility drugs (I'm guessing yours will be too), so they did lots of ultrasounds. It was always wonderful to see the one at 9 weeks, since they usually couldn't find the heartbeat that early.

My first is at 6w3d or so.... they usually can see the heartbeat(s) then, but it's mostly for a "headcount" If they can't see the heartbeat(s) by that time, then they'll reschedule at 7 weeks and so on. Once they see it/them, I will have an u/s every 2 weeks until I "graduate" to a regular OBGYN. Then, I'll get probably 1-2 additional ones aside from the Level II around 20 weeks.

I told Amy, it is thrilling to get to have so many... but I hardly consider it "payback" for how we had to get here! :rotfl:

Doh!:headache: If I had ordered all of my Disney Store stuff from Disney Shopping I could have saved another $8. But some things are just not worth $8, like returning it all and ordering it online.

DH is furious at DS because someone got DS's lunchbox today and kicked it, which broke open the container of applesauce he didn't eat. DS has a loonnnng history of very bad luck with lunchboxes and DH needs to shut his half-wit piehole.  In elementary school kids would take his lunchbox to torment him. It got thrown in the trash, it got thrown in a mud puddle, and each time he had to go fish it out. Each time DH would yell and scream at him when he got home. SO DS started to carry his lunchbox around at recess because he was terrified of getting in trouble. Stupid DH. One day the teacher got on to him for carrying it around. She told him to put it down and go play. Well, do you obey the teacher and risk getting screamed at by your father? I ended up having to conference with the teacher over it because DS completely FREAKED OUT. So today DS was playing with his friend after lunch and someone kicked his lunchbox. DH apparently wants him to NEVER leave his lunchbox unattended. It isn't luggage at the airport, for crying out loud! Leave him alone! DH needs to get a freaking life. I am SOOOOO angry that DH thinks this is DS's fault. Only DH would BLAME DS for what amounts to being bullied. :sad2: If I need to buy a new lunchbox for DS I will - I don't blame him for leaving his lunchbox "unattended" while he went to play.

I also had to call the attendance office yet again because they told DS they didn't have the fax from the Dr. They had it yesterday! Where did it go? They still have it. I swear the attendance office is a creation of the devil. The lady told me every absence is entered as "unexcused" and then they change the status to "excused" AFTER they have written PROOF. Guilty until proven innocent. And this is the procedure that will be in place until he graduates from high school. Great.:scared1:

Deb - Glad Nick's conference went well!

Tammi - I think I forgot to tell you I am glad your conferences went well, too!

Actually, I enjoy cleaning other people's houses. Mine? Not so much!
You should come to MA. You would have the BEST time here if you like cleaning other people's houses.:lmao:

Bernadette - That AKL pin isn't being released until the day you come home so that's not going to work. Thanks anyway!!:)
Oh...so sad to think Disney will go on without me.:sad2:

:woohoo: WTG Nick!

Poor DS.

Lindsay - Welcome to my world where the codes are always better AFTER you order. I didn't buy anything from them today.

I just came from the mall. The mall is a dangerous place. I had a 15% off coupon for Disney Store so I bought 3 more sets of Snow White pins. I also bought sweatshirts for all of us to wear at WDW. Gray w/ Mickey for DH, navy w/ Mickey for DS and red w/ Minnie for me. I am not a huge Minnie fan but that one is a "ladies" cut so it will fit better than the men's. Of course the kid's ones were 2/$25 so I had to buy a Pirates one for DS, too.

Heidi - I got the Pooh pins. I will add them to your pile!;)

Then to Hallmark where I had a $10 off $50 purchase coupon. Bought 5 ornaments (which is kind of silly since we aren't doing a tree, but they are part of series' that I don't want to miss) and a card for DH. I got a Christmas tree shaped plate with a little butter spreader thing for free with another coupon, and a free ornament.

Then Macy's. They had a sign up that boy's Levi's were $19.99, and I had a 20% off coupon that AMAZINGLY worked on the jeans so I bought 3 pairs for DS. Now he has 5 pairs of 10 slim to get through the winter. I might just wash them and pack them for WDW - he would never know the difference.

Does your DS have ornaments out yet? Ours had a display case of them kind of as a "coming attraction" (we have the smallest store in the company apparently, but good location so they don't want to give it up) and there is a Jack one that is pretty cute.

Thanks for the hugs for DS!:goodvibes DH better be NICE to him this evening.

Tia - My store doesn't have ornaments yet. They got some new housewares but not anything else for Christmas.

Jennifer - Now that you mention HSM, I *think* they might have had that ornament because I think I saw a lady with one in her hand.

our store had ornaments in last friday but did not have any High school musical. was wondering if they had gotten more in?

Heather - CONGRATULATIONS! I hope you get to bring that baby home dressed in blue. ;)

Marci - tell Jake we are so proud of his awesome season! And wish Andrew the bets of luck tonight.

Lindsay - honestly, everything that NEEDS to get done before you leave will be done. I trust in your knowledge and common sense. :)
I second this!!

Congrats Heather!

WTG Nick on a great teacher conference.

Ok, Deb and Elizabeth, you are making me consider spending MORE money. Which pin bags did you order? Do you mind posting the links.

Tammi - Guess what I can't do on the Mac? Copy and paste, apparently! Just go to Disney Shopping, click Collectibles, click Pins, then scroll to pin accessories. There is only one pin bag. If you have the Disney Visa you can use SAVINGS, if not use 1699. If you spend $75 you can ship for free with Disney Visa code (VISA75), or ship for $5 with the code on the Disney Shopping site.

Oh the poor litttle guy! Give him a hug from us. I hate bullies!

Good Morning.

It is a rainy day here today. Cold and rainy make for unhappy days in the Brooks household. I need to do more laundry (winter clothes make for a lot more loads of laundry) and try to pick up the house before my mother comes down to watch the boys. I have a teacher's conference for Nick this afternoon. Hunter's is next Tuesday afternoon. Tomorrow is the dentist appointment and Thursday is the funeral. Friday night My Mom and I are taking the boys to the high school play which is the Wizard of Oz so that should be fun.

Sounds like a busy but fun week. Way to go on a great conference for Nick!

I hope everyone feels better soon! :wizard:

Princess was up last night with congestion, cough, etc. so we get to skip swimming today! (I'm not happy that she isn't feeling well, but I am happy we don't have to swim!) She doesn't seem to feel THAT bad. She does have a raging case of hiccups, though.

So glad you didn't have to swim!!

Robyn, I'm glad Lucy had a good night sleep. It's so scary not knowing what's going on with them. I hope everything is ok with her.

Theresa, I'm sorry you had to go through that meeting yesterday. I hope that in doing that the rest of your time there is at least tollerable. pixiedust: for finding a great job and soon.

As for Inquiring minds .....
Can I take Jennifer's stance on this subject?
As of right now. The ept test says yes, I'm waiting on my Dr's office to call back and let me know when I can get in for my first appointment. We're looking at another June baby. I actually took the test almost 2 weeks ago now, and Butch has been in my ear , "We're not telling anyone yet. Wait till after your first appointment. " I'm just too excited. I've already told him" if this baby is a boy we're done, I'm getting cut, tied and burnt before I leave the hospital with the baby. " of course he asks, " what if it's a girl?" He really wants a boy of his own to carry on the name. ( He treats RJ as well as he treats Mary-Margaret it's just for names sake) " I guess we'll give it one more try, but if we don't have a boy by the time I turn 36( I added a year to this plan) my birthday present to myself is to get fixed, so keep that in mind lol " Butch was an only child and I'm one of 2. we both wanted 4 kids from the first time we talked about it. But each one of these 2 has taken a toll on my body. I'm just not sure how much it can take. So after this one we'll see where we stand. and move forward with our family of 5.

Thanks Heather!! Congrats to you, it's a regular DDA baby boom around here. Here's :wizard: for a pirate:

Poor little thing.  I hope the doctor's can figure out what's going on, or that the screaming ceases as quickly as it started. I know that has to be scary.

Bernadette, sometimes you make me tired. :rotfl: ;) I'm sure the kids will love their surprises!

Thanks!

And Bernadette thinks I am busy. No way. She has me beat as do a bunch of you.
