Just got home alittle while ago...Daniel got his yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do tonight. This was his first belt test & his teacher suggested he skip a belt. He got to do his moves in front of the class & did a board breaking as well. I was so proud of him..he totally loves TKD & he comes out of class so full of energy..(maybe I should take the class too!;) :lmao: )

I worked today..crazy day there. I did have a little pixie dust if you want to call it that. There is a incentive in the store if you can sell 3 pre-orders of the movie being offered (right now its Ratatouille) during your shift, you get a pin. Well I sold 5 during my 4 hours so I got to choose one from this board they had up..I got Goofy flying in a bi-plane. I know, nothing too exciting, but I was happy to add another pin to my collection.

Katie's artwork will be displayed in our local library this week. I have no idea what picture it is but we are going over there tomorrow to see.

That's the run down of my day.

Tomorrow I call for my adr's for April....I think we are going with Biergarten dinner (dana's fav), LTT lunch, Garden Grill lunch, & Ohana dinner.

I am so tired I am going to fall off my seat. :rotfl: Good night all!!!

well we tried to supplement last night. Virginia refused to take the bottle. the dr asked me if I thought my milk was in i said yes. he suggested i pump and try that in a bottle or cup feed it to her. i pumped when we got home i got 3oz of milk from each side. it had only been 3hrs since she fed.

just now as she was feeding i looked down at her and she has milk all over her face.:)

Anne Marie and Chanon - WOW! Soarin' alone! That is just awesome. I wish you all could have heard my 6'4" baby brother on that ride!! I will NEVER forget the look on his face and hearing him squeal!! He loved it!

I swear DS is on a mission to drive me insane.:headache: He has this project where he is supposed to display photos and momentos from 3 or 4 "benchmark" times in his life and do a presentation for the class! He said she assigned it yesterday, but the paper says students will start presenting on Wednesday! That's TODAY! So he threw together a hodge podge of stuff that isn't really a good representation of anything, and it made him 35 minutes late for bed. WHY can he not keep up?! I see he got a 70 for another assignment in language arts and he has NO CLUE why it was only a 70. He is just so ditzy!:sad2:
UGH….how frustrating for you! I have a feeling that is something I will be facing with Lizzy.

Elizabeth have you ever worried about Hurricanes and going in Aug. Jeff is worried about going in Aug. and hurricanes. He thinks we should go in Nov. I am just worried that if we decide not to home school then Olivia would have to miss a week of school.
I’ve been in hurricane season at least 6 times and have been lucky so far. I did leave one year just before it hit though and that had DH in a tizzy.

thanks for the reminder. So when do they have all of the christmas decorations up at Disney.
I’ll let you know how much is up when I go. Some of it will surely have to be up as the first Christmas party is our last night.

End of Photos from Day 1
GREAT photos Deb! I loved all your character photos!!!!

We actually barely missed being hit by a hurricane in Oct. 2005! We flew home the day before Wilma hit. It wasn't as bad as some of the previous ones - I think the parks were closed half a day. We had crummy weather when we went in Jan & Feb so we aren't going back in early '08. (That's why I need to go for 16 nights in Aug. '08.):rotfl2: We have been very lucky with our 2 long August trips. It has been hot (REALLY REALLY HOT) but overall it has been good.
I wonder if that is the same one we just missed. I think we flew home on 10/23/05.

I have been in Dec & Jan with really COLD temps-30’s at night. I also have to worry about snow here at home if I go in the winter. I wouldn’t choose January again but I’ve got to take Joe for his 7th birthday. I’ll be back in January 2010 for Emma’s 7th birthday.

My favorite time now is early May for the Flower Fest.

OH….and I forgot to say even if Olivia is going to public school I wouldn’t worry to much about Kindergarten.

AK in the summer is BRUTAL.
It sure is! The park appears to be well shaded but it is definitely the hottest park.

This really has been a one sided game. I must say that I like a closer scoring game though it is nice to be up a game in the series ;)
You must have loved last nights game.

I am planning to have the Giant family party for all 3 boys on the following Saturday. Anyone want to come? I could use the help :thumbsup2 QUOTE]
I see you’ve had to make changes. I would have loved to have come but I’ll be packing.:woohoo:

O.K. I think I am turning into the daughter my Mother always wanted!

The Disboutiquers were talking about "fur cuffs" for outfits that they are making. Well, I got the pattern, and whipped these up!

Leighanna thinks she is a "model" and hams it up when I bring out the camera!

th_furcuffs002.jpg
th_furcuffs006.jpg
th_furcuffs007.jpg

New listing tonight, and I already have bids! Some of the people on the "boutique thread" want "Tom originals". :rotfl:
Are those cuffs knitted? How cool!!!!

I finally got my money back from the bank.
:woohoo: YAY! It is about time!!!

It has been a good morning here. The UTI is completely gone so I won't need to have any tests run :cool1: Phew, I must admit I was getting concerned.
Great news!

I have a new ticker!!!!!!!!!

Still working on a discount, I may just have to wait for an AP rate, but Dana mentioned it last night & said go ahead & book!!!

:cool1: OH, OH, OH….my kids would be so excited to see your kids again!!!

I am still furiously reading away before I have to head to work, but I had to comment on this. My DDs are this way too. They are almost 8 years apart and they STILL hold hands and snuggle together and have secrets like they did when they were younger. Makes me misty-eyed every time I see them together like this!
 :goodvibes

oh, Bernadette... this is TERRIFIC!!
Thanks!

He said he felt good enough to go to school. so dance party for him tonight :dancer:

There must be a girl somewhere in this lol
How did the dance go?

After hearing your stories about the BC, I'm glad you're going to have an opportunity to get back there. Are you booking concierge? ;)
She doesn’t have to. ;)

ok just to let you all know .. it'll be a while before i can actually post .. I got caught in Her Majesty's Royal Chit Chat .. and i have about 100 pages to still read lol ... i'll catch back up eventually ... I hope everyone had a good trip and those that weren't feeling well before are feeling better ...
You are too funny!:lmao:

Robyn-

It looks like Lucy's Bumbo seat has been recalled

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21472055/?GT1=10450

why exactly would a parent put that chair on a table???:confused3
:scared1:  duh....

I do have a soft booster seat for a chair but I didn't use it for an infant.....

10/21
Our last full day at the world. After rolling in late the night before, I was determined to be at rope drop at Epcot. I wasn't sure we could make it but we set the clock for 7am. Chanon & I made it to rope drop about 10-15 mons before 9am. Janet was going to catch up with us later. So after thinking we were on the wrong line to get in :rolleyes1 we made our way pas spaceship earth & to the RD by Innoventions west. We had a british family behind us asking where Soarin was & if they could follow us since thats where we were headed. I said "You see all these people?, thats where they are headed too, you won't miss it";) So then this CM from Soarin named Josh walks over to the rope & we start chatting with him about his uniform & my mickey shirt & then he says "When the rope drops, follow me"...ok Joah whatever you say!!!!! So the rope goes down & we follow him all the way to Soarin. Of course there was a wall of CM's to help "walk" everyone over to the Land so people wouldn't run, which I think is such a good idea. Anyway we try not to loose Josh in the throngs of people. We get to Soarin a few people behind him & he says "come this way". & brings us down the FP line. As everyone runs to the right to ride standby, Chanon & I were escorted through an empty queue line right to the doors of the ride. He tells us that we are the Soarin family of the day & we get to have the first ride of the day alone! Yep, Just Chanon & I on all of Soarin!!! Chanon was teary, I was shaking & we joked later that we had the whole ride, we could have sat anywhere & what did we do? Sat right next to each other! It was great!!! We thanked Josh several times for a great start to our day.
HOW COOL!!!!!!!

I thought it was ok. Very good for when you are touring the parks all day & just sleeping at the resort. The everything Pop store was great, they had so much variety in the merchandise. The food court was always busy but well organized & the lines moved quickly. We did have an issue with mousekeeping but overall I liked it.
Ummmm…..it sounded like you had pretty full touring days last August.

I forgot about the size of the beds. Are they fulls? No fridge is also going to be an issue. We really need to figure out what we are going to do with my sister. I just don't see Chuck enjoying Pop.
Full size beds in both value and moderate resorts. The ASMu family suites have a queen in the bedroom with full size sleep sofa, twin size sleep chair and youth size sleep ottoman. They have a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. They cost the same as 2 preferred rooms at a value. Would that work for your sister’s family? From the photos I think my DH will be happier at ASMusic than he would be a Pop but I do love Pop.

I canceled Planet Hollywood & booked MGM, I hope we like it. Sounds like you had a fun day there!
Sounds like a great deal! I’m sure you’ll have a blast!

So my boss called me at MCO to discuss my schedule. His wife has cancer throughout her body and has taken a turn for the worse. She travelled to Maryland a few weeks ago to spend time with her parents and children as she knows that the end is near. Apparently her liver is now failing and they are not sure how much longer she has. He has gone to be with her and there is no telling when he will return. We are just praying for a peaceful death as she has suffered with this for years. It all started as breast cancer which they removed and thought that she had a full recovery, but it came back in her lungs then her bones. So scary. Anyway I was planning to have the boys big family part next Saturday, but now I need to work and given the circumstances I fully understand. I think I may do their party on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving as out of town relatives will be around. Now I have a month to actually plan it. For some reason I have not felt like planning it this time which is very unlike me. Maybe I had a preminision of this :confused3
Lots of prayers for boss & his wife.:sad1:

Very cool!

I went to a small private school in OK - Oklahoma City University. They have a nice music program with a beautiful new music building! Dance, music and vocal music are one of their bigger "schools" in the university. One of the girls I knew in college, Kelli O'Hara, is now on Broadway and has been nominated twice for a Tony Award. It's small and not in the most exciting place, but I liked it and really liked knowing the faculty as I would sometimes have them for a couple of classes over the years. The teaching department is not large, but is good. The school has been growing since I graduated and has several beautiful, new buildings.

Phil studied music at Pomona College in CA. He studied primarily Music Composition and has nothing but raves about the music department. He actually wanted to study psychology, but the composition staff was so spectacular at that time that he felt he would be remiss to miss the opportunity. He has nothing but good things to say about the school. He took me to the campus one time and it is beautiful! It is just north of Los Angeles.

I never knew this!! :goodvibes

Elin,

Thank you for letting Stephanie and I sit with you at the Cape May Breakfast. It was really wonderful watching you watch your family, especially your nephew enjoy the characters.

We loved having the two of you be part of our fun breakfast! I do have to admit, that although my brother and his wife "get" WDW now... they still don't "get" the DDA! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I guess it is a good thing that I was up early today as I just spend the last 3 hours stressing over Hunter's kid party tomorrow. The plan was mini golf, but the weather forecast is a complete washout :sad2: I tried bowling, rock climbing, swimming and movies, but nothing worked out. I was at wits end and just decided to have the party at the golf place as the table is under cover, we would just have to come up with activities at the table. Then it dawned on me that there is a new pizza place that just opened and my Mother does a ton of business with them. I met the man yesterday and he was so nice. Mom had him call me and he is willing to do a party for us. He will also let the kids make their own pizzas and cook them. I know the kids will love this  . Now I'm searching around for chef hats and aprons for the kids. I'll have to come up with a couple of quiet games too to help pass time. I'm excited, I think this will be more fun than mini golf :thumbsup2
That sounds really fun!

Lizzy’s Brownie troop did a Halloween cooking event thing tonight. They made monster toes but they used tortilla shells. Yours were SO much better!!!!

My brother didn't get it either, until he saw it through his son's eyes. The wonder of EVERYTHING we did became overwhelming twice on the trip and the tears in his eyes made me cry. I saw my little brother inside that big, tall man... :goodvibes

Sorry Janet..... :(

From wdwmagic:
The reopening of Spaceship Earth has been pushed back to February 19th 2008 according to the official Walt Disney World site. There is no information about what has caused the delay.
:headache: I feared I would miss it in November but thought for sure I would see it with Joe.:sad1:

A quick update on our friend Terry. So far, so good on the healing front. Last week it was appearing that he still has circulation in the "bad" leg. He had surgery on Monday to graft ligements and skin to that leg and as of yesterday they seemed to be taking well. He still has a long way to go for recovery, but his chances of keeping his leg are improving everyday. Thank you all for your prayers.
Good news.

So I was all set to have a nice night out with friends, all on my own. We were supposed to go to dinner and then we were going to Fright Nights at Six Flags. Phil was (finally) on board with the whole thing and willing (if not totally happy ;) ) My chance finally arrives and the girls started backing out one at a time. Darn it! Now we are postponed.

All is lost, right...well some alignment of the planets must have occurred, because instead of jumping for joy when I told him, Phil says, "Why don't you still go out for a little while on your own or with your sisters or something?" What, who is this man?!?! Who cares! I'll take it. ;)

Now to figure out what I want to do.... Hmmm.....
Hope you had a nice night.

Good night all...I've been working on invitations for Lucy's christening and Emma's birthday party. How lucky am I that they are scheduled for a week apart?

I need to get myself out of bed tomorrow morning and work on the girl's playroom. It looks like it's been bombed. Honestly my whole house looks like that but the priority is their crap!

Oh and I got an email from Amy agreeing to get together Christmas Eve around 6ish.

Have a good night.

Hi, everyone. We got home around 8pm. Quick rundown, and I'm headed to my own bed!

Rees does not have a partial blockage. He has a Hiatal hernia, the thickened area of jejunum which will have to be addressed (surgeon won't know what he needs to do until he gets in there), and the most serious thing is a very rare condition called gastric volvulus which is defined as an abnormal rotation of the stomach of more than 180°. It causes all kinds of problems and has to be surgically corrected. Rees already had a Nissen Fundoplication (surgery to prevent severe reflux where they literally make a band around the top of the stomach to prevent anything from going up the esophagus- ie he can't vomit or burp). So, to correct the other problems he also has to redo the fundo (many fundo's have to be revised as kids grow). So, there will be repair of the Hiatal Hernia, redo the fundo, fix the gastric volvulus, and look at the thickened jejunum. It is major abdominal surgery. He will try to do it laparoscopically, but because Rees' other surgeries were done "open" (major incision), the likelihood is he'll have to do them open as well. If it is done lap it will be a 2 day stay, if open likely 4 days or more.

So, we are just going to keep doing what we were, let him enjoy Halloween and all the parties, and then head back to the hospital on Thursday. It will be a very stressful week, but for now, we are going to focus on the fun things and enjoy being home and all together.

Thank you so much for the continued prayers and support. I'm off to bed!

ETA: the Emory GI were great once we saw them. We are to follow up with them in 2 months since he has inflammation of the stomach (gastritis) and they upped his Prevacid dosage. She gave me her private number and nurse, so we shouldn't have any trouble getting an appointment!

Oh, and here are the symptoms of chronic gastric volvulus. Just like Rees!

Chronic gastric volvulus

Patients typically present with intermittent epigastric pain and abdominal fullness following meals.

Patients may report early satiety, dyspnea, and chest discomfort. Dysphagia may occur if the gastroesophageal junction is distorted.

Because of the nonspecific nature of the symptoms, however, patients are often investigated for other common disease entities such as cholelithiasis and peptic ulcer disease.

Upper GI series can be diagnostic during an acute attack.

You slimmed down and your girls grew up! Beautiful. :goodvibes

Thanks to you, Tammi... and everyone else with the nice words. We cleaned up very nicely that night, I think! Lindsay looked terrific too!

I have tried three times to delete that 2005 picture from my photobucket account but just can't do it. I want to have it there to remind me...

So..........it hasn't rained in something like 5 months. Why does Mother Nature feel the need to make up for it with rain for 3 solid days in a row, plus a 4th tomorrow!?!? And I can say with confidence that people have forgotten how to drive in the rain.

Isn't it something?!?! I bet some of our water restrictions will be lifted next week!

That is great news for Daniel and Katie. I tried karate and it was so tough. Kudos to him. Tell them both that we are proud of them. I think getting a disney pin is great incentive, so 3 presells per shift = lots of pins for your collection and no money out of your pocket :cool1:

well we tried to supplement last night. Virginia refused to take the bottle. the dr asked me if I thought my milk was in i said yes. he suggested i pump and try that in a bottle or cup feed it to her. i pumped when we got home i got 3oz of milk from each side. it had only been 3hrs since she fed.

Did she have the milk drunk eyes? That was my favorite look from the boys, completely content and happy   Her jaundice should be improving now.

To answer your questions:

She is looking at all schools...but only one in state (Metro).

She is definitely leaning toward music, music education or education.

I am trying to find a good liberal arts school for her because even when she wishy washy's on one she never wavers on both at the same time.

I went to RMC for education and I ended up with an English Degree.
I don’t think she would like the business school I went to for undergrad (Babson College-a really great school) or the one I went to for grad school(Bentley College).

My SIL’s both went to Wellesley College. My niece went to Carlton College in MN. She’s a stay at home mom now but she was a teacher but I think she got her MA in Ed from U of MN.

Thank you very much, Janet! I have to share a picture that Kristin sent to me from October 2005's F&W Festival trip that the girls and I took. I have tried to imagine that I truly looked like this 2 years ago:

and last week:

WOW!!!!:woohoo:

I have been gathering things to pack for this weekend. Well, its supposed to rain all weekend. I grabbed my rain suit and well I haven't really used it in awhile. Let's just say its probably two- three sizes too big.:headache: Well its going anyways because I don't have time to find another one, and don't want to get soaked. I'm just going to swim in it. I know my hips will keep the pants up and the coat will be great for layering, but I'm not layering almost 70 pounds of stuff.

Well I'm off to pack, I hope I can find enough clothing to keep me warm and dry for the weekend. Not that I want to pack, but I gotta as I need to be at the church by 5:30pm to leave.
Stay dry!:wizard: Hope you have fun!

OK, well the paintings are too expensive and the pins are a LE 500 which means they will go fast so I'll have to pass on this one!:rotfl2:
There is supposed to be a $3 postcard and an 11 x 14 print for $15.

I was telling her that the one mom who was doing pickup from school last year for me, called me Wednesday morning. She said she had a gift for Lucy and wanted to drop it off. We used to chat/hang out a lot and then this past summer since I had Lucy she just sort of vanished. I mean not once did we talk over the summer. Well we got to talking and she mentioned that she was upset at her mom. Her mom was to fly in and stay with the girls as her and DH were flying to Maine for their anniversary. And now that the grand mom wasn't coming they had to take the girls. I appreciate the gift but I honestly think that she wanted me to offer to keep the girls for the weekend. If anyone remembers I had the 2 girls last winter and it was the sleepover from you know where. The timing was just completely suspicious.
:sad2:

I am interrupting my own catch-up phase of DISing tonight to ask a favor from someone as yet unknown. While I was sitting at the airport waiting to go through security Wednesday evening, my student Patrick sent me a text message asking if I had taken my laptop along on vacation. When I told him no, he sent me some wonderful news that he could not wait to share until I got home.

He has been invited to play his composition from the national concert this past summer at the 2008 NAMM Convention (National Association of Music Merchants) which is held at the Anaheim Convention Center every January! Last year over 87,000 people attended this event!! I will tell you all more about it later, but the reason I am asking for help is that we need a headshot ASAP for all the publicity. His Mom took a decent one, with gorgeous foliage in the background. I fear that Yamaha Corporate will want a more "professional" background. Is there anyone who would have the time and be willing to change out the background for a more "mottled" backdrop in the next couple of hours?

I can email you the JPEG file if I have any takers. Just PM me so I dont miss any replies. If no one has the time, I fully understand! Just thought I would come here and ask before I send this off to California, with the possibility that it will be returned as unusable.
Congrats to Patrick!!!!!

We made it to the Pumpkin in the Park event 45 minutes late and they were just wrapping up the costume contest. Hunter didn't care and went off to play, but Colby insisted that I take him over to the judges. He was Dracula in his coffin. They only give out 3 trophies, one for scariest, one for cutest and one for most original. Colby was sure that he was the scariest, but he's just too cute to be scary. In the end he did win the most original trophy. He was on cloud 9. I'm glad that we got off our butts and took them as they all had fun. I was feeling guilty that I can't take them trick or treating on Wednesday since I have to work so at least I got to be a part of this :goodvibes
Congrats to Colby!

See...............
Supermom. :teeth:

Yay for Colby.
