Good night all. It's back to reality tomorrow....WORK!

Terry & Stephanie - I hope you make it home safe and sound.

Good Night to all who decided to go to sleep before I could get back on.:rotfl2:

I love having you all home....I had 8 pages to catch up on....see I'm not the only posting fiend:lmao:

So I have a serious question from Cassidy:

She is starting to try and start looking at colleges and she said I could ask the DDA because she trusts you all:goodvibes

Where did you go to college and would you recommend it to her??

So that you know...she is looking at music or teaching....or both if her mom has her way:lmao: She is definitely a fine arts kid.

So when must my ornaments be mailed by??? :confused3 :confused3 Just wondering, so I know how quickly I need to get my act together.

so that they get there by Thanksgiving so those early decorators can put them on the tree.

I went to Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Theater Arts and a minor in English Lit. I also got my teaching certificate. The education department is one of the best in the country. It's a beautiful campus (not too far from Colorado), small enough for individualized attention from the professors, and the fine arts opportunities are endless. The music department has been revamped in the last 15 years, and things are looking up there.

I would definitely recommend going there! (I also met Alan there! 'Nuff said!)

Night all! It was a long night, last night, and I'm very tired! Welcome home to all the trippers! It's nice to have you back!

Thank you!! (from me)

Coolie!! (from Cassidy:lmao: )

Will you please keep my co-worker Michelle's family in your prayers. 3 of her sisters have been evacuated from their homes in California due to the wildfires. All are staying with their brother in another area of California. Although the fires may hit that area as well. They could really use all the good thoughts they can get.

Thank you!

I totally missed Becky's original comment, but I would SOO be up for it! Technically, Terra WILL be 5 by next summer and after I wanted to go to last year's DDA trip Phil did say that after Terra turned 5 we could talk about it.

Well hopefully by this time next year I will be a full blown Florida resident. I have been looking at jobs and things already. I am thinking about moving next summer. Although there have been some jobs that have definitely caught my attention that they are looking for someone now.

The thing is I'm not sure if I am ready to change jobs already. I love my job and my co-workers. I know I might not be so lucky at another job. Hence the reason I am thinking about waiting till next summer to move. Then again if it is meant to happen. It will happen when the time is right.:thumbsup2

Good night all! I am not caught up but I need to head to bed as tomorrow is another long day.

Hope all is well with all of you.

I think we should all say a prayer for Stephanie and Terry's safe travels, since it seems no one escaped problems!

Thanks! Over the river and through the corn fields, cow pastures and verycurcvy roads, I dropped off Terry and got home safe ands sound.:goodvibes

Our flight was 10 min utes early. Ouyr luggage was down right after we arrived. The shuttle came as soon as we called. :goodvibes

Miss Blueberry (my car) is pissed at me. I left her in a tiny town in Maryland for 6 days, turned her on, didn't warm her up and she wasn't in her warm garage either. She turned on her check engine light as if to give me the finger. I'm so glad I'd already secured her appointment to have her oil changed tomorrow at 1:00. They'll take good care of her and fix whatever ails her. I'm sure she's fine, juts a little surprised I didn't make a biug fuss when I saw her tonight.:car:

I had such a good time, I can barely contain myself.:dance3: This was the best vacation ever.

And thanks Bernadette for reminding us about the walk from WS to the buses. That is a really good point. Maybe my next family trip will be to the Beach Club. Or maybe back to OKW. The family LOVED it there, and so did I. When the family goes, we enjoy the resort. We use the resort.

When Terry and I go, we neeed a place to store our clothes, shower and sleep. :cool2: :cool2:

I am going to bed. I'm going to sleep until I take my car in. I can only hope.:dance3: :yay:

Ok that is all for now & yes Heidi & Elizabeth I am reading through all the pages ;) Might take me a week, but I will get through it & then I will post about the trip :thumbsup2

Good morning!

Welcome home Steffy, Terry and Janet.

Theresa - I went to Indiana Univ. of PA, a state school about an hour from home. For what Cassidy is interested in, I recommend she stay in state. If she were specializing in a particular field, then the 'best' college might be in order. But she can get a wonderful education in CO at a more reasonable cost. Well, is any college tuition reasonable?? Unless of course she gets a scholarship! ;)

Morning DDA!

I received this email last night and thought I should share it with you. This is from my Uncle Will and Aunt Ruth; the others mentioned are my Uncle Mary and Aunt Joanne:

Dear Family and Friends:
We live in Spring Valley which is currently experiencing the “Harris Fire” which is one of the major blazes in San Diego County. Although we have had lots of smoke blowing in from the fires to the east of us, we saw the first flames last night around 10:00 PM as the fire began to come around San Miguel, the lovely mountain which dominates our area. Over 500,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in San Diego County. Ruth’s brother, Marty, and his wife Joanne, who live about 1 ½ miles closer to the mountain than we do, were forced to evacuate their home yesterday afternoon as a precaution, and we have been expecting the call for us to evacuate at any time. But, so far, we have not been directed to leave. We are all packed up and ready to go, but have not had to yet. It has been an interesting experience selecting what to pack and what to leave. Ruth and I discovered that we could live without missing a lot of it. That has already been a blessing.

The fires are still easily seen from our house, and there is smoke everywhere. Marty’s house has not been threatened, and the winds have not been nearly as high this morning as was predicted. As a result, the fires have not been as aggressive in our area today as the morning progressed. In addition, the Navy and air National Guard helicopters have joined the fight and are dropping water on the fires nearest us. That combination seems to be winning for the present, but that could all change if the winds kick back up.

Ruth works for San Diego County Emergency Medical Services, and she is on twelve hour shifts in the Medical Operations Center, so we have the latest data available. The best sources I have found on the Internet for our local news coverage are Fox Channel 6 http://www.fox6.com/, http://www.signonsandiego.com/, and Channel 10 http://www.10news.com/index.html. Both of these might give you information and videos more specific to our situation than the national news outlets

Thanks for praying for us. God is in control, and He wants the best for us, so we trust whatever He sends.

Love,

Will/Dub and Ruth

Marty and Joanne are now not allowed to go back to their home - Marty was able to travel back to his home twice to hose it down, but they have now officially closed his road. Currently they are staying with Joanne's cousin (they have a fifth wheel to stay in) before finding out if they have to move to Qualcomm Stadium if they have to evacuate again. Haven't heard anything more from Will and Ruth - given they are only a mile and a half away, it's a blessing they have not been evacuated yet. Since last night though, the winds have really picked up. Keep these two families in your prayers too.

Good morning everyone--
