I cannot knit with needles worth a darn! However, I went to Robert's and got a set of Knifty Knitting looms. They are circular, and you can knit a hat on it in under an hour!!! Seriously!!! I'm in the middle of doing one for Katie and had to quit because she went to bed, and I need her to try it on to see how much longer I need to knit on it! I'll finish it up tomorrow and post a picture of it! If you can get your hands on these looms, you could knot a hat lickity split!!!

those sound great!!! How much were they??

Another one of SIL's work of art:

For some reason, my computer is not showing the page you posted. Can you tell me the author and the name of the book and I'll let you know if I know anything.

I always check links when I post...first time it showed up...not the second time:confused3

the books was Cage of Stars by Jacquelyn Mitchard

I was thrilled when it was $5 instead of $15 AND free shipping!!

Your SIL is very talented...I think you are right...she just doesn't think about "boy" and "girl" colors.

I have 9 more posts until 9,800.....should I post them now or tomorrow with the other 200???:confused3 :lmao:

I found the pictures of Lizzy in the pink dress. SIL made if for her first Easter-just under 1 year old-I think we took it up about 8". It was a bit big! I think Lizzy wore it for about 4 years for Easter.

So the party at the Planetarium went very well. They had their appetizers and other foods. Then went inside and watched the 45 minute planetarium show and then came out and had desserts. Let's just say we had way too much food for what they ate.

The big issue was there were so many choices.

They had sushi, mini bruschetta, spinach mushrooms, bacon wrapped scallops, coconut shrimp, tomato mozzarella salad, asparagus salad, fruit, cheese crackers, veggie dumplings, Asian Beef sandwiches, veggie pasta, Jambayla. For dessert they had ecclairs, cannoli, fruit tarts, and Napoleons. All of this for 80 people no wonder there was lots leftover. But always better to have too much then not enough.

most of those choices sound yummy!! but you are right way too many choices espescially for 80 people.

so I just remembered there was a bit of pumpkin spice cake left over from last night's work function.....yummy!!!

I think the whole set was around 20 dollars. It came with an adult size loom, a child size loom, a toddler size loom, and a baby loom. Katie uses the baby loom to make hats for the preemie babies at our local hospital. They are really cool!!!

I feel like I am a one person posting machine right now:lmao: So sorry to the weekend at home DDA'ers:rolleyes1

I have read cage of stars!! I remember really liking it. I haven't read anything else of hers. I do remember that her portrayal of the Mormon religion was not quite accurate, but it was still a really good read! Take it all with a grain of salt as you read it!

Sounds like a nice night. I'm hungry!

Got to get to bed! I just stayed up to finish reading Moloka'i. It's a book about the leper colony in Hawaii. Very good book! I highly recommend it!

Talk to you all tomorrow.
