Tia - I am sorry Kristi is acting that way. It's not like you are trying to take her child away. It's not your fault if Chase wants you to hold her! I have never had DS want to go to someone else, so I don't know how that is. But I do have charges who want me instead of Mom, and most of my friends have had that happen, too. The difference is that we really do spend more waking hours with the kids than their moms do, so it is almost natural for them to want their nanny. Brother used to ask for me all the time on weekends. I have had one friend lose her job because the baby preferred her over the mom. Obviously Kristi is jealous, but that isn't your fault. I think she is being very juvenile, and I hope someone points that out to her soon!

Thanks Elizabeth. I figured that you had run into the situation yourself, but for much more obvious reasons than you state. Lately, I've only seen the kids once or twice a week and most of those were only for a few minutes. My personal feeling was that she was overreacting and so was Phil's, but then we're a little biased, I'm sure. I know that Erin will support her feelings, because, well that's what she does when it comes to me. Mom was out talking to her when I pulled out of the driveway, but I don't know what was said. I'd love if it would just blow over, because no one in my family will ever say anything unless my mom just gets really mad. And if I were to say anything, it would turn on me as being over-dramatic. :confused3

I am going to have to go with Elizabeth on this one!! I lost 2 kids I was watching because of this too....mom came up with a contrived story that didn't ring true. I am sure her feelings hurt...she is probably already feeling working mom blues and then add insult to injury (in her mind) Chase prefers you over her anyway.

Can you tell her you understand her feelings but you will not hide from Chase.

Kristi hasn't worked since Chase was born (other than 1 night a week for a couple of months which is now done). I just watch the kids every once in awhile when she has class or a meeting to go to. However, she has been looking for jobs. I was actually wondering if she was having advance-working mom blues in that if she goes back to work and asks me to watch the kids again she's afraid of what would happen.

I figure I'll see what happens this weekend and then say something if I have to. I was willing to give her some space one day, but, you're right, I won't hide from Chase (and thus the rest of the family too) continuously.

Good morning, DDA!!!

So I got Terra's costume done yesterday and she looked really cute. She is just so darn proud of her costume idea. Luckily, most of the parents caught who she was right away, if not sure, they at least asked her and she would beam that they knew. I didn't get any pictures, but I will at Halloween. I do think that I need to add a few more holes though. They tended to fall in the folds so I want to put some more right in the middle where they are more noticeable. (Though don't tell Terra as she swears it is "just great" and doesn't need more.)

She did look like a walking advertisement at the mall yesterday when we went to pick up Phil. She was still wearing her Charlie Brown zig-zag stripe shirt and the new book Schultz came out yesterday where the cover is yellow with the zig-zag line on it. :rotfl:

That sounds like a terrific costume (if it's what I think it is...Charlie Brown's extra-holey ghost)! Very creative! I can't wait to see pictures.

You're right, it's Charlie Brown. I'm just impressed that she came up with it! Of course, she watches all of the Charlie Brown movies constantly so I shouldn't be surprised.

So when it rains it pours in my life!!

We picked up a new car a little less than 2 months ago...we went in for an insurance "check-up" this week and our agent suggested we try and get a loan through our insurance which would include gap insurance for free...we decided to try and this morning she called and said the bank won't do it because the car is financed for 170% of the value....the payoff is for more than $4000 than we signed papers for!!!I am still shaking....this is pissing me off.

I was finally getting the other things figured out and then....wham!!

So Princess and I went to breakfast with my friend and her little charge. I asked her if she wants to come to WDW next summer when DS and I are there by ourselves. She does, but she wants to share a hotel room. I don't have a problem with that because we used to go to Nanny Conference together and share a room. It complicates things from a reservation standpoint.

Instead of doing part of the time at AKL and the other part at Pop we will do the whole time at AKL, but it will be a split ressie to have DH part of the time and my friend the other part. More than likely we won't do bunkbeds while DH is there, but we will while my friend is there. BUT since we don't know what dates which people will be there I still can't do anything as far as reserving a room.:headache: The other thing to consider is that my friend might not be able to go for whatever reason, and then DS and I will go ahead and stay at Pop.

Vacation bids absolutely can not happen soon enough!:headache:

Things went well this morning. I was home from the hospital after about 3-4 hours, and feel pretty good. I'm supposed to take it easy the rest of the day, so Kyle and I are watching a few movies, etc and just relaxing. They got 10 eggs, but we have to wait until tomorrow to see how they look and how things are going. Thanks for your prayers! :goodvibes

Jennifer, I am glad to hear that things went well. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I can't wait to see pictures!!:goodvibes

I love the old cartoon holiday shows!!

Does anybody remember Fat Albert's christmas special??? If you see it on tape or DVD please pick it up for me...it is my absolute favorite and it's never re run anymore. :guilty:

I thought I knew all the holiday specials, but I can't remember the Fat Albert one. If I see it, I'm sure that I'll think of you and remember to pick it up.

Jennifer- I am glad things seem to have gone very well this morning.:goodvibes

I am sorry for giggling though when you said egg retrieval....some of our friends own chickens and that's what they do twice a week...egg retrieval. :rotfl2:

You're right, it's Charlie Brown. I'm just impressed that she came up with it! Of course, she watches all of the Charlie Brown movies constantly so I shouldn't be surprised.

DS still really enjoys all of the Charlie Brown holiday specials. We have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's and Easter.:)

I'm confused. How did that happen? Is your interest rate REALLY high, or was there some error in the financing? Is this something that you can fix, or no? If the car is financed aren't your payments X number of payments for whatever amount each month? I am not getting how the amount could go up?

I Googled your DVD and came up with all sorts of places you can order it. Not sure if it is in stock anywhere.

You did better Googling than I did. I stopped at Amazon when I saw it was almost $60!

Speaking of Google, dh is still kicking himself for not buying Google stock when it was around $100/share. We're just too chicken to invest (and don't have much to invest anyway).

the higher amount is what were told was left to pay on the car by whoever had it last but we negotiated it down to the $4000 less AND paid $1500 down payment(one of my poor choices the last couple of months) so the charge off...or what our insurance bank would pay them....should be $5500 less than what they are saying!!

So, what are the weekend plans everyone? Not much here. We postponed our garage sale until next weekend, but now I can't remember what I was thinking of doing on Sat if it weren't for that. Oh well, guess it wasn't anything too exciting. Sunday we are going to the "hunkin hatch" with the whole family. Hopefully that will go okay as last Sunday ended up being a little dramatic.

Speaking of that, I could use some advice if anyone has it...
On Sunday Kristi got really upset because Chase wanted me to hold her. She had just awakened and realized they were here and I was in the room. She reached for me and I picked her up. I thought Kristi was joking at first, but realized she was really upset. I tried to take Chase out and give her to Kristi, but she started crying and asked me to take her inside if I was going to hold her. She was too upset to listen to what I was saying. I just apologized to her and told her that I didn't mean to upset her. I then took Chase inside, put her down to play and then left for the grocery store (was asked to, not just "running away"). I saw Mom bring Chase out as I left.

When I got home, I did my best to avoid whatever room Kristi and Chase were in because I didn't want a repeat. However, the one time Chase did see me, she looked at me like she was sad I didn't come talk to her. No one (Kristi or Erin - who as I've said before doesn't seem to like me sometimes anyway and has acted that way since we were kids) even said goodbye to me when they left. I was only in the next room and they all "shouted" it to others in other rooms/upstairs. Then there was a whole other thing that happened, I feel at least in part, because she was mad about Chase.

Kristi claims that Chase wants me over her. I don't want to diminish her feelings at all, but at the same time Chase does go to Kristi from me all of the time too. She'll go back and forth between us in the span of a time when I'm with them. When I first arrive or they first arrive, Chase does usually want me to hold her. Then she'll play on the floor or go to Kristi or go to Chris and sometime later come back to me again. This was the first time I have ever heard Kristi say anything that even remotely indicated she was upset.

I don't want to hurt Kristi's feelings, but at the same time, don't think that I should have to ignore Chase or stay in another room all of the time either. It makes me really not want to go to the pumpkin patch on Sunday even though it was my idea and I already promised Terra.

So has anyone ever felt like Kristi does with their own kids and someone else? Can you tell me what you wanted that person to do to help the situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as right now I just don't even feel comfortable with the idea of being with my family. Kristi and I usually talk at least a couple of times a week and we haven't talked at all.

:wizard:  sorry no advice. I do remember Olivia doing that with my mom and me when she was little though.

that's probably where I stopped too!! All I can remember thinking is :scared1:
