:cheer2: way to go on the math grade.

Thanks!

:wizard: poor DH I hope he feels better fast. Hopefully he has a watch that works.

Hopefully the watch can be repaired(or buy a new one), :wizard: that his leg is not to sore!

I hope he didn't get hurt too badly!

The scrape on his leg doesn't look too horrible, but it is pretty big. He bruised the "heel" of both hands, too, which he said hurts worse. He isn't supposed to take ibuprofen with the other meds he is on, but I think he might benefit from some!
I think his watch can be fixed if they put new pins in the band. In the meantime he doesn't have one that works. Hopefully Princess and I can go tomorrow and get the band repaired and/or put a battery in another watch for him.

DS still claims to have no knowledge of why his band grade is low. I also pulled up his grades for the current marking period. Only 3 teachers are reporting, and 2 out of those 3 are not good.:scared: And of course when I asked him about it he said "I don't know" and then he got all angry and defensive and teary.:sad2: Parent conferences are being offered tomorrow so it looks like I will be going to confer with some teachers!

Well if anyone has any spare :wizard: I could use just a little. My dad called me this morning and told me that my aunt had died (his sister). This was very sudden and quite a shock to everyone. The viewing is going to be Tues night and Wednesday afternoon and evening, with burial on Thurs. I know my parents would completely understand if I did not attend, but I really liked this aunt and she was good to me, and my children. So I'm planning on taking the kids out of school and driving up to PA on Tuesday and coming back to VA on Wednesday. Five and a half hour drive each way. So tomorrow after work I have to get things together to go up there, and then Wednesday night they go to their dad's to stay for the week that I am gone. So that means I have to have all their stuff together for that too. Plus get ready for our trip. I'm so afraid that I'm going to be so frazzled that by the time Thursday gets here I'll be going into the trip exhausted, instead of coming home exhausted. Can I pull this all off?
Tammi-I'm so sorry for your loss.

That would be awesome Bernadette! Thank you so much! :yay:
Do they have favorite characters?

Your XH is a bonehead, so not to make excuses for him, but I have yet to meet a dad who can keep up with the kids' schedules.:rotfl2:
I bet Tom does.;)

And my stay at home DH but I still need to prepare him for my trips.

Ok, I've preordered the Photopass CD. I have Deb, Chanon, Tammi and myself so far wanting to go in on it. If there is anyone else, let me know.
Would you mind waiting a few weeks before ordering your CD? Your photos are good for 30 days. I will be home 3 weeks after you.

I wasn't sure I would have enough for a CD and was thinking about using the same card in January but if you wouldn't mind I wouldn't have to risk not getting the November photos. I know I'll do the CD in January as its Joe's birthday trip.

well no more vomiting. still have the cough and runny nose but at least she is eating a little and drinking and playing. I just wish the cough would go away. As it wakes me up during the night.
Hope she continues to improve and the cough goes away.

We have given Bethie 5 shots so far. :guilty: The first 4 were very difficult for her :sad1:(I didn't have much fun either), but last night she cleaned the shot area with alcohol herself as well as picked the shot site. :thumbsup2 She still does not want them and tries to negotiate out of them. I think the main reason for the pain is because the meds are so cold.:scared: It says to give as soon as you can once taken out of the fridge. We keep praising her growth and also have a chocolate jar which was purchased for rewarding after the shot. :cheer2: Thank you again for your prayers!
 For you and Bethie!

My family could use some extra prayers and PD, if anyone can spare any.
Prayers for your family!

 Hi, all! Beth
Hi Beth!

DS got his report card today. 2 surprises. 1) He got a "B" in math!! 2) He got a "B" in Band, with a numeric average of only 80.  That makes NO sense to me. He shows up every day with his drum sticks, so WHY is his grade so LOW? I need to e-mail the band director and/or the percussion teacher and ask what the deal is and find out how he can improve his grade in there. That really just boggles my mind.
:woohoo: Congrats to DS on the Math B!

My husband, you gotta love him. He was working on one wall switch that had gone bad and proceeds to tell me. "I am working on a live one, be prepared to pull me off" Well, I just look at him and he then says, "I know, I know but I have worked on hundreds of them and I know what I am doing. Yes, I should turn off the electric but I cannot find the right breaker."

:rotfl: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I just turned and kept on making supper.

Right now he is safely drilling to put up wiring because he is putting in a new water heater. A tankless one. Will be interesting seeing how this one works. He says he did his homework.

Terry - :scared1: I don't know if I could put up with that!

Elin - I logged on to my Entertainment Guide, typed in Orlando, then did a search for Ghirardelli. It pulled up the B1,G1 on the sundae and also a 20% off purchases of $25 or more.:confused3 I'm not sure if the 20% is good on ice cream or just on other "retail" type stuff like sauces and boxed chocolate.

Bernadette - I thought about your DH after I said I don't know any dads who know the schedule. Tom probably does know the schedule.:goodvibes

Joe has a black eye. The first one any of my kids has had. He was sort of running up the stairs on all fours last night and tripped and hit the side of his eye on the edge of the hardwood landing. It was bruised before he made it down the stairs. Luckily his eye isn't swolen today but it looks nasty.

Funny how faces and wooden stairs result in those INSTANT bruises! I had a charge just sort of roll off the bottom step at a friend's house and his face was bruised before he even stood back up.

I hope Joe's eye heals quickly!:wizard:

Thanks!

:wizard: for DS grades to improve. Have you noticed an improvement since you increased his meds?

boys what was he doing going up on all fours.:confused3

My family could use some extra prayers and PD, if anyone can spare any.

You all know the trials and travails of my brother. The latest short version of the story - went to the rehab in Florida (complete waste of time and $$), and came back to Houston and has been living in a halfway/after-care house. That has appeared to be a good experience for him - was working the 12 steps, had a good sponsor, and (unbelievably) was able to get back into his former career with a different company, at the same pay grade.

Fast forward a month or so - and he wants to leave for Florida again - without having completed his 12 steps, no job, no prospects, no place to live, etc. (If you'll remember, his latest round of rehab was prompted by getting fired from his job, and deciding that he was going to leave for CA to be in the movie-making business.) Well, just change the location/vocation, and it's the same story. This time, he wants to go back to Florida, and be a tattoo-artist. And again, leaving everything behind that he has been working on - his sobriety will probably go by the wayside, as well as his stable career, etc. He's also refusing to take his other meds (he's OCD and a host of other things).

My parents met with him and his counselor this morning, all 3 trying to dissuade him from this, namely by showing him how this won't work any time soon, being that he won't have any money once he pays my parents back for all they've loaned him. He just doesn't get it, and is insisting that he'll be leaving for Florida in about 3 weeks.

I am just numb to this situation now, but of course, it's really weighing on my parents, and they're worried that he will go off again, lose his sobriety, and a host of other horrible things that happen to people with mental illness and no resources. If you could, please pray for strength and courage for them, as well as for SOMETHING, ANYTHING to get through my brother's head that this is not a wise decision for him. I know I would covet your prayers for all of them. Thanks, friends.

It sounds like he needs to get back on his meds now. Nothing will make sense until he does. :grouphug: for your family.

Elizbeth His grades were really good. I'm sure the grade reflects how well he plays the music in relation to the other children. Perhaps some practice more or have a natural talent for it. Consulting with the Band director sounds like a good idea.

I have to say that Chris knows the boys schedules just as well as I do. In fact he gets them up and fed in the mornings and because I'm typically working in the evenings he makes sure that bags are packed, they are bathed and in bed. He always tries to attend Parent Teacher conferences and knows what's going on with their classes and in their lives. He is often referred to as "Superdad" mostly by himself :lmao: He had a hard childhood with little parental support so being on top of his kids lives is very important to him.

Stephanie, did ya find bras?

I have to go shopping for a few.

Elizabeth, :wizard: for Jody. Hope his leg heals fast.

:woohoo: for you son on his math score. I stank at math real bad.

Welcome home Glynis. I was just going to ask about you.

Alyssa had a black eye from a wooden rocker. Right before our first trip to WDW.

Hope it heals quickly.

You got a good man, there, Deb. :thumbsup2
