DS got his report card today. 2 surprises. 1) He got a "B" in math!! 2) He got a "B" in Band, with a numeric average of only 80.  That makes NO sense to me. He shows up every day with his drum sticks, so WHY is his grade so LOW? I need to e-mail the band director and/or the percussion teacher and ask what the deal is and find out how he can improve his grade in there. That really just boggles my mind.

Cassidy is getting a low A in band....thing is she is there at every practice, competition and concert(never missed one)...he seems to automatically not give full points for everybody.

Abi is getting a B in band....because she doesn't turn her practice cards in!!

WTG on the math surprise!!

Lindsay thank you for the update on your family...they, and you, will continue to be in my prayers.

Well, as far as I know he doesn't have to turn in any sort of practice cards. If he is supposed to be then that could certainly be the problem! I know he is kind of flighty but I can't imagine that he would miss something THAT major for an entire marking period. Then again...:confused3

Have I told ya all how cool it is having mom and Dawn living across the street. :cool1:
If I want to go somewhere, I just say mom lets go. :)
And Dawn and I were just talking to each other, standing on our porches. :teeth:

I'm having trouble getting motivated to get any work done. :confused3 I really, really should be working on it. Once I get started, it is going to take undivided attention.
If I didn't have to do payroll, not sure I could motivate myself to do anythng either...:goodvibes

8,000

Wow, it sure has taken me a long time to get from 7000-8000. But then again, two years ago I would have said you were nuts if you thought I was going to be a regular on a chat board of "strangers". How wrong can a person be?
I'm sure happy you are here! And I get to see you again in 3 days!!!:cool1:  :woohoo:

We have given Bethie 5 shots so far.
Hang in there Paula. :cloud9: A friend of mine that gives herself shots, takes them out of the refridgerator in the morning and gives the shot a couple of hours later when the drug warms up. Could you ask the doctor? I think you are onto something. Ice cold drug through the vein does not sound like my idea of fun...

My family could use some extra prayers and PD, if anyone can spare any.
:grouphug: Lindsay :grouphug:

Deb, the bowling ball sounds wonderful:woohoo:

Elizabeth, loved the Minnie dress story..:rotfl:

I'm going home tonight and iron my shirts. :woohoo: :dance3:

Disney in a few days! Woo Hoo:woohoo: :woohoo:

DH's week is not off to a good start. He fell in the parking lot at one of the stores this morning and scraped up his leg and broke his watch.:guilty: The rain was coming down in buckets and he was trying to hurry. I don't know if his watch can be repaired or not. He has several, but I think the batteries in his others are all dead.

:wizard: poor DH I hope he feels better fast. Hopefully he has a watch that works.

Theresa what time do the Rockies play tonight?

They play at 8 our time......I am hoping it's a sweep of the Diamondbacks:banana:

This team deserves all the accolades they are FINALLY getting. Espescially Todd Helton  (though I would love for him to get rid of the funky goatee!!)

Lord help me.....Katie is going through terrible patch where she is ignoring me & when she does answer it "yes...moooommmmm" (like I am bothering her). :headache: I am going to pull my hair out (or hers!). She's always angry & moody. It's not hormones, she is just so fresh...She has an answer for everything.
I really need to go to Disney & have a break from all the arguing with her. :rolleyes1

This morning it was 50 degrees & she came down dressed in shorts & tee shirt. She raised all heck when I told her to put on pants. She said "you just hate me!" What????If I hated her I'd let her get cold!!!! I don't get it!!! I wasn't raised by my mother & I just don't understand her annomousity towards me, like I am just so "uncool". I am going to scream!!!!:scared:

I love her so much but I don't enjoy this part of her personality...oh I need a "mommy's time out":sad1:

Sorry for the rant, I just feel so helpless & saddened by her attitude.

She wouldn't happen to be 10, would she? My Katie is acting the same way! I'm hoping it's a phase!

Oh Lindsay I am so sorry to read this. Prayers for your brother & family, I really hope he can see that staying put is the best for him :wizard:

My family could use some extra prayers and PD, if anyone can spare any.

Hopefully the watch can be repaired(or buy a new one), :wizard: that his leg is not to sore!

You all know the trials and travails of my brother. The latest short version of the story - went to the rehab in Florida (complete waste of time and $$), and came back to Houston and has been living in a halfway/after-care house. That has appeared to be a good experience for him - was working the 12 steps, had a good sponsor, and (unbelievably) was able to get back into his former career with a different company, at the same pay grade.

Fast forward a month or so - and he wants to leave for Florida again - without having completed his 12 steps, no job, no prospects, no place to live, etc. (If you'll remember, his latest round of rehab was prompted by getting fired from his job, and deciding that he was going to leave for CA to be in the movie-making business.) Well, just change the location/vocation, and it's the same story. This time, he wants to go back to Florida, and be a tattoo-artist. And again, leaving everything behind that he has been working on - his sobriety will probably go by the wayside, as well as his stable career, etc. He's also refusing to take his other meds (he's OCD and a host of other things).

My parents met with him and his counselor this morning, all 3 trying to dissuade him from this, namely by showing him how this won't work any time soon, being that he won't have any money once he pays my parents back for all they've loaned him. He just doesn't get it, and is insisting that he'll be leaving for Florida in about 3 weeks.

I am just numb to this situation now, but of course, it's really weighing on my parents, and they're worried that he will go off again, lose his sobriety, and a host of other horrible things that happen to people with mental illness and no resources. If you could, please pray for strength and courage for them, as well as for SOMETHING, ANYTHING to get through my brother's head that this is not a wise decision for him. I know I would covet your prayers for all of them. Thanks, friends.
Oh Lindsay, I'm so sorry to hear this. :wizard: and prayers, for you, your parents, and your brother. :grouphug:

I hope he didn't get hurt too badly!

Well, I'm trying to get things organized and ready to go. I took the kids shopping after I got home. Alyssa needed black dress shoes, which I hadn't gotten yet. After 4 stores we finally found a pair in her size. They are both finishing their showers now and soon it will be bedtime!

Heading out to get my shopping done, finally :rotfl:

Tomorrow, packing :thumbsup2
