So my Rockies who have been sweeping...got swept.:sad1:

Now just have to wait for Jim to fall asleep and I can go to bed.

I'm so sorry, Theresa!

You'll forgive me if I have to do a little :dance3: :cheer2:

I was really hoping that the Rox would win at least 1. I was going to say 2 so that the Sox could win at home, but then their fans can get a little crazy so maybe winning on the road was a good thing.

My morning is not going at all as planned. I thought I'd have Colby's blanket made by now, but something came up instead
...
Colby spotted the balloon through our window. Once we realized that it was landing in a field just across the interstate we threw on our clothes and grabbed the camera. The pilot was very nice and let Colby sit in the basket. We then helped them squeegee the balloon and pack it up. Colby was fascinated by the whole process. It was so cold here this morning. We had a heavy frost, I was surprised seeing the balloon. The pilot says that he flies year round and that it wasn't too cold up there :confused3 I know that we put on our rain boots and our feet were freezing just helping pack it up.

How cool!! Sounds like a good reason to be behind on your plans for the day.

I did get a little behind on plans, but I did manage to get together all of the Ornament Exchange stuff. I also had a few other things to get into the mail so if I get my butt to the Post Office this afternoon I will have that out of the way :cool1: I've also made a dent in the laudry pile, man does that grow.

I so feel your pain, Stephanie! I hardly moved from my chair yesterday. I was stuffy the night before with some pain, but felt horrid all day yesterday. I have still yet to change out of my pjs. Luckily, I got a 3 hour nap in yesterday so I was finally able to stay awake for the full Sox game. Today is a little better...hope the same is true for you. :wizard:

I hope you feel better today.

I am so not a sports fan yet I've watched every game of the World Series :confused3 Last night's game was too close right up until the last pitch. Then of course we had to watch the trophy getting handed out. Between the Patriots and the Red Sox yesterday was a good day for New England :thumbsup2

I would love to see his work! Does he notate by hand or does he use a notation software program? I have lots of students who can play so well by ear... I am jealous of them!

He's been using Finale the last couple of years, though he has done work by hand as well. As soon as we get the new computer hooked up to the Internet (darned wireless won't work with Vista, argh!) I'll send something to you.

That it was! I watched most of the games, but kept dozing in the 6-8 innings on the first 3. Guess I should have known I was getting sick. I had to stay up for the whole post-game as well and then get online this morning for all of the stuff we missed without having Boston media covering everything.

Bernadette - If you are out and around today in a place that sells newspapers, would you mind picking up a copy of them for me? I'll pay for whatever shipping, cost, etc. I'd love to add them to my collection. Thanks!

Well, good morning/afternoon, DDA! Apparently I'm a little slow in catching up today. Actually, I'm just a little slow in general today. My laundry is piling up like Deb's, I think, but I just can't seem to find the energy to climb up to get the clothes and all the way back down to the basement to put them in the washer. Maybe if I start the first load, others will be home after that and I can talk them into making the stair runs. I'm feeling better, but still worn down and stuffy. Now if the cough that started up this morning could just stay as mild as it is.

With talk of free dining, I'm beginning to wonder. If we can pull off a trip next year and have the option of mid-May or whenever free dining (might) happens, which should we do? I'm thinking that weather and crowds probably won't be too different. Will it be worth the savins do you think? How were the codes for values last spring (if anyone went then)?

Wow! This weekend went by in a whirl!!!

Friday was spent in bowling, and volunteering at the kid's school. I was hoping that Alan would take us all to see Ratatouille (haven't seen it, yet), but he was too busy getting ready to pour a cement pad to park our pop up trailer on. He's had to cancel the pour for 3 weeks due to bad weather. When the forecast was for good weather all weekend, he ordered 7 feet of cement to be brought to our house. He was up most of Friday night, smoothing and building forms. He got to bed around midnight, waking me up to say that his brother (with 4 of the 5 kids) were going to come help with the cement. "So, could you cook breakfast for everyone?" Midnight is not the best time to ask me something. However, I agreed!

At 5:30 the next morning, I woke up, went to the store and got enough stuff to make cinnamon fench toast bake, scrambled eggs, fried oatmeal and sausage for everyone. I also had hot chocolate, cider, egg nog, and orange juice. At 7:00 the truck came, and the pour began. Everything went smoothly, thanks to a neighbor who was awakened by the noise, and came over to help. He does cement work on a regular basis, so it was good to have him there. I fed the troops, and kept the hot chocolate coming.

They were finished by 1:00! It looks really good, too! I can't wait for it to cure all the way, so I can get my garage back!!!!

The tools Alan had rented needed to be back at the store by 3:00, so Alan took a quick shower, while I cleaned up the kids and got them ready to go to the pumpkin patch. We got everything in the car, and dropped off the tools. All was well there! Before the pumpkin patch, we had to stop by the house of one of Alan's clients to try to get some money from him. Alan has done a ton of work for him, and he owes us about 4500 dollars. Alan spent about 45 minutes there, but did manage to walk out with a check for 500 dollars. Not much, but more than I thought we'd get!

Finally, we were off to the pumpkin patch! Halfway there, we realized we'd forgotten the camera. Bummer! Oh well, too late to turn around. By the time we got there, it was getting chilly, so no one wanted to linger too long, anyway. We did the corn maze, played on the bouncy slides, etc., did the whole petting zoo thing, and made our way through the "light" alley. The patch is on the other side of the alley, so we ended up with the kids picking their pumpkins, while Alan and I selected a new tree to go in our yard. We lost a pine tree this year, and want to replace it. We found a beautiful golden chain tree to plant, so we were all happy.

We got home from the patch with enough time to shove a bowl of soup down everyone's throats, get the kids in their costumes, and go to a neighbor's house for a Halloween party. It was a ton of fun! The neighborhood teens had put together a spook alley in the basement and garage, and my kids thought it was wonderful! I had a great time just nibbling on treats, and enjoying adult conversation. We carried the kids home, and all just collapsed into bed.

We spent yesterday recovering, and going to church. Our children's Sunday school did a program, so it was neat to see the kids. Katie even did a violin solo to the song Beautiful Savior. It was so good! We were really proud of her. Last night we watched Sinbad and enjoyed ice cream sundaes!

I'm exhausted!!! Think I'll take a nap today to recover!!!

Finale files will work! I look forward to seeing it when you get the chance.

I just bought our airline tickets for Dec., as well as our MVMCP tix!!!!

Hmmm. Well, "free" dining isn't really free, you know.

When we bought the dining plan DS was under 10. We paid for the plan twice and both times we really only saved about $250-$300. That was WITH appetizers and tip included, so I bet under the new plan we wouldn't have saved anything. I know there are posts where people saved over $1000 or whatever, but we didn't. We did a fair number of buffets/character meals and we still didn't save that much money. "Free" dining this year wasn't free because we had to pay rack rate for our room.

I wanted to do it because I thought DS might like ordering from the adult menu. Turns out he didn't care. All of us were so full by Day 6 we didn't want to eat anything else and we didn't really enjoy the ADRs we had for the last couple of days because we weren't ever hungry when we sat down to eat.

Unfortunately we never travel in the Spring so I don't know what sort of codes are offered then. The one right now doesn't seem like much of a bargain - free hopping and water parks is lovely, but those tickets will expire unless you pay the "non-expiring" upgrade.:confused3

I think a good "jumping off" point is a AAA discount, then you work from there to see what you can find that's cheaper. I have AAA, Disney Visa, and AP already that I can watch for codes, and I am HOPING they will still be running Bounce Back when we get there in Dec. Decide what you are eligible for and then watch to see what's released. Mary at MouseSavers usually knows when something is coming, but on this one the DIS called it sooner.

That's wonderful!:cool1: Congrats!!
Has Bob heard anything else about the hearing?

I saw that round trip airfare for August is only $212 on American right now. Unfortunately I can't buy DH's ticket since we don't know what dates we need.:guilty:

Glynis - Sounds like a wonderful weekend! I hope you get to see Ratatouille soon! I don't think there is much chance of me running into any of the guys I dated back in high school because I'm not in the area anymore. Not that I think they all stayed there, I just don't think I will see any of them here.:rotfl2:

Tia - I hope you feel better soon!
I noticed on the way to work this morning that my head feels weird. I'm not congested but my head feels lightheaded/dizzy. Not enough to impair my functioning, but weird.

He and his dd are going to come back on the 13th, and my kids and I are staying until the evening of the 14th. I wasn't giving up a day of Disney! My airfare was $178 r/t, and I'm still watching to see if it drops.

Elizabeth - what time is our breakfast at AK?

Well, at least they will get to do MOST of the trip with you!:goodvibes I really hope once he gets to be there with his DD that he will want to go back!

Our ADR is for 10:30. Does that still work for you?
