as her plane flies over... I'm in Bristol which is a good 150 miles from London and I'm not due there for work for another few weeks yet... hooray! i hate going to London for work :goodvibes

I looked you up on the map to see how far Bristol was from London a few days ago and figured it was not worth offering to deliver the crocs to you due to gas and driving time. :car:
Thank you for the wave as the plane flies over, I'll let my mom know she'll need to look for you. :rotfl2:

AMERICAN IDOL SPOILER

I will not say who got kicked off but I was REALLY sad - not that I thought that person would go all the way but I think there were worse singers!!

I was sad to see him go too.....but I have a question is it just me or is there something fake with Paris? Yes she's got a nice voice but there's something just off for me :confused3

So I have to tell you my brush with fame. Of course it doesn't compete with Glynis or Jennifer, but it is the closest I've had. :guilty:

The person that was voted off is the nephew of a co-worker of mine. Small world.

Our daughter's nursery was full of trains and fire engines and teddy bears. I only changed it to pink and yellow this year!
Oh, so I guess you were one of the ones that were "fooled." :)

I had this same problem with the boys were little. We live in the city limits of a small suburb outside of Dallas, but we do have a tank nearby. Both boys were always very curious, loved the outside and were very busy! They knew not to go outside, but it is hard to reason with a 2 or 3 year old. My DH and I were trying to figure out what to do, then finally remembered that our alarm has a feature on it where you can have the doors make a quick beep each time they are opened. We turned that feature on, and were relieved that we would know whenever one of them opened a door. I think you can buy those types of things, without having an alarm system.

Just a thought -- it sure gave us a warm fluffy feeling knowing we would know when they went outside.

All right I had to pipe in as I didn't wanna give just boys a bad time :rotfl2:
When my girls were younger....but still old enough to know better Cassidy took her sister for a walk while I was in the bathroom....they were headed to the bus stop and got lost(bus stop was about 100 yards away) took us 15 minutes to find them!!! They kept circling the apartment complex a different way then we were :confused3 .

They do eventually outgrow this shenanigans....most of the time!

Jennifer - I love your door designs. They are so bright and cheerful. Congrats on your interview. I know you will knock em dead.

Julia - That sounds so scary. I bet you are glad you found out about it after the fact, knowing he was ok. Hopefully he will have learned a good lesson.

Morning, everyone. Kids and I are home today. We're just playing since it is cold and supposed to rain later. Where is Spring? Reminds me of that Franklin TV movie about him hunting for Springtime. May finally make my cake later as I bought eggs yesterday. I'm doing laundry and trying to have everything ready to go in case I need to leave quickly.

I still don't know any details. According to my brother, it is taking longer than expected for the Coroner to release the body. I am hoping the funeral is not until Saturday, so that I can take the kids to school tomorrow, me work, and BK has a b'day party tomorrow afternoon. Also, I found one way plane fare for $54, but it isn't good until Saturday! Otherwise, I'll drive the 8-10 hours.

Julia, glad your DS is ok. Did he fall in the 'Hooch? That's a dirty river. With the cold weather, I'm not surprised he was chilled to the bone. This is definitely not Spring in Atlanta!
Kate, glad Steve is home and Julia is happy. I couldn't be a single mom either.
Jennifer, love the door signs and good luck on your interview. BTW, my fave shift is night (no doctors, no visitors, much more quiet, patients asleep so less to do... although there are always a crisis at night...)

I'll keep y'all posted when I find out any details.

that sounds fun! My kids would love to do a Build A Bear, but it is definitely geared towards smaller groups. With 3 at once, we generally have around 25-30 guests.

Okay, I'm checking in to thank everyone again for all the pixie dust regarding the house, compliments toward Alyssa's pictures, and well wishes for our trip! :goodvibes

You Cincinnati people better knock off that snow dance...if our flight is delayed, I'm blaming you, not Mother Nature! :rotfl:

We made an offer and after a little negotiating, we came to an agreement that will all be finalized upon our return! :cheer2:

I don't know if I'll have time to log on tomorrow, so goodbye for now! I hope everyone has a great week!

Amy :)

I would love to know what kit you are using and where you got it. Alyssa would be thrilled with this for her birthday next month.

Glynnis - I love Pecan pie & I am convinced it doesn't have calories :lmao:
I will only eat it home made or when we go to the Lancaster area. Your recipe sounds good & don't laugh, cause I am a pretty good cook & baker, what is a block of butter? 1/4 pound? :confused3

Penny

When I buy a package of butter, there are 4 sticks in the package. I melt one of those. It's the equivalent of 1/2 cup. I have to say, you really need to use real butter. I've tried margarine, and it's just not as good. I usually have to cook my pie a bit longer than the time the recipe says. Otherwise, the center is not completely set up. By the way, it was a huge hit last night. DBIL took half the pie home for his breakfast this morning. That is so flattering. I love to bake, and up till a while ago, my body showed it. Now, I bake for others.

Right now I've got bread in the oven for my neighbor who is pregnant. She gets so ill during all 9 months of her pregnancy. She can't stand to have cooking smells in her home. So, a couple of us in the neighborhood are taking turns making dinners and just dropping them by around 3:00 in the afternoon. Holly would normally never let us do this, but she just can't stand to cook, and so she lets us take care of her. I told her, it really helps me, as I love to cook and bake, but can't really eat much of what I love to cook, so it helps me more than it helps her. Sorry, I started rambling there! The smell of fresh bread makes me a bit nostalgic.

Morning all - it appears my wedding card went offline last night so I've rehosted it with photobucket... teach me for being lazy and not uploading it there in the first place!

Anyway - for all those of you who are "caught up" you won't see I've updated my old message so here it is for you again:

To those of you who are catching up and have now seen this twice I'm sory for the deja vue :)
very nice!

Visitation is tomorrow night. John and I are leaving in the am after we drop the kids at school and driving to Philadelphia, MS. The funeral is sometime on Saturday. We will spend the night on Sat at my brother and SIL's house and drive back early on Sunday.

Please keep Ben and Keyla and her mom, Gloria, in your prayers. My in-laws are coming tonight to watch the kids.

I agree about Paris -

I told my DH that I think a 17 year old trying to act 35 sexy and sultry is HIGHLY inappropriate and she needs to start acting her age or she is going to be gone soon -

he really likes Katherine but there is a disconnect there with me -

I have not voted yet b/c no one seems to make me want to vote for them

Ace is just not doing it for my anymore - Taylor sang horribly this week -

Chris is the only one that I have liked every week but I think his sound is going to get old - it really bothered me that Bo never really went out of his comfort zone and that Carrie legitimately tried the other genres -

I don't know why they tell Chris - good for you for not compromising - yet tell all the others they need to take risks and step outside of their comfort zones - I think you need to have mass appeal to win and right now Chris doesn't seem to have it
