Kate, is that the complete list of characters or only the ones Julia was interested in?

This is the list of characters I'm including in Alyssa's birthday autograph book for our March 21-28 trip. I'm still hoping we'll run into a few of the "rarer" characters (Hercules, Meg, etc.) too, since it'll be close to Spring Break, but my fingeres are crossed that these characters are a "guarantee!" Oh, and characters I've purposely omitted are: Buzz, the Incredibles, the Country Bears, Mike and Sully, and the Power Rangers.

Am I overreacting to this - or would this bother you too?

This happened over a week ago and I really can't get it out of my head

Julia and I pulled in our neighborhood behind the school bus - a woman I know was waiting in her minivan for the bus to pick up her kindergartner

her van door was open and he hopped in the van - the van was facing towards the direction of her house and she had to drive about 10 houses to get home - the door to her van was not closed and her son stood behind her holding on to her headrest and she started to drive home - they went about one house and he saw some of his friends walking and he leaned out the car door to yell at them and talk to them - and SHE KEPT DRIVING!!!!

I came home and Julia kept asking me "why would she let him do that - doesn't she want him to be safe?" when DH got home she told him that she had something very bad to tell him - and told him the story

I can see her not making him buckle up for the short drive home - but not closing the door -

Steve and I have already made the decision that our children will not be allowed with this family alone again - but I just wonder if this is something she does all the time - what if he fell out and under the car?!? I just can't get it out of my head

so tell me - what do you all think of this?

I just don't understand people. I know most of Lizzy's classmates don't use any kind of booster seat. I just don't understand that. Is it that difficult to use one? She's only in 1st grade and weighs under 50 pounds. She'll be in a booster for quite a while. Last winter someone in our neighborhood was pulling his small children (2 or 3 under age 10) on a sled with his big SUV. My DH noticed them and I told him to call the police. He was lucky nothing happened when the snowplow came up the street. He stopped after the plow driver had a talk with him and lucky for us they moved away a few months later. People are crazy!!!!

We got back on Feb 22. We had an awsome trip. As soon as we got home I got really sick on top of being exhausted from the trip. Then my computer went out and had to buy a new one and get everything switched over for work. Still working on the switching over part.

I sent the Piglet and got a personalized get well autograph from Piglet to send to the little girl who was burned.

WISHES was awsome. I just cannot express how it made me feel. I was so touched by it.

Marti I get thinking about a Dole whip but never saw one the whole time we were there. I really was going to try one. I love pineapples.

The T-shirts were a HUGE hit. I had comments on them everyday. I saw a woman on the run at the Orlando Airport who asked if I was a Disser? Did not have time to talk to her. If this was any one you let me know?

The autograph pages were also a HUGE hit. The characters really gave us attention for them. My DS5 and great neice 6 loved all the attention they got. We got like 45+ autographs.

Overall we had an absolute great time. I will post pictures as soon as I can get them uploaded to the new computer. I have to find my Kodak software to connect my camera. We also bought the photopass CD and the guy added extras to every single one of our pictures. I was so impressed with this. We got 87 pictures with the additions for $99.00. Luckily I asked on our last day there and found out this had to be purchased at the WDW and could not be purchased on line. We missed out first Magical Express bus to the Airport because I was getting this made.

I forgot to mention. I think I'll have the characters sign the T shirt also. I'll bring a piece of cardboard to stick in the shirt so it doesn't bleed through to the other side.

Denise sorry to hear Rees is not doing so good. I thought of your family many times while at WDW. My DS5 has a problem with load noises also. My DH had gotten me several different types of earplugs to take with us. These really helped in the shows and with the fireworks. He was still real nervous of everything and I had to really encourage him to get on things or go into shows but once he would do it he liked it.

It was a totally different experience than I had with my two older boys at his age. They wanted to do and try everything. We had to really slow down and help him get comfortable with each and every ride or he would cry the whole time we were waiting in line.

Of course now that we are home all he talks about is going back.

Anyway here is some for you and Rees and I will keep your family in my prayers. Just know that my heart goes out to you.

Denise -- you have a huge load on your shoulders. Be sure to take some time each day to do whatever it is, read, watch tv, soak in a tub, to help release some of your pressure.

You mentioned posting on the disabilities board. I'm sure that has helped some. My kids both have major learning differences, and the support group of the parents that I've gotten to know over the years has been truly amazing. Is there a support group to help give you info and support in your area?

If there is ANYTHING we can do to help, please let us. Many prayers and PD to you and your family.

Hi there DDAers! I'm bbbbaaaaacccckkkkkkk. For those of you who didn't know, the inlaws were here for an extended weekend visit because it was Matt's birthday and his party over the weekend. The visit was nice - but it will be even nicer to get back to "normal" around here. (ok, define normal, because we certainly aren't!).

You guys were busy - and stealth Denise tried to steal another milestone huh?

Kate - love the bag - and since Steve has a great bonus coming to him - does that mean its Ladies Only Weekend at WDW?????? Huh can we, pretty please huh????? That would be a blast!

Denise - wish Atlanta weren't so far away - Skunka and I would baby sit so you could go to the spa for a couple of days to feel better. He knows plenty of knock knock jokes to keep the kids busy!

GOOD NEWS!!!

Dh's company got the contract I told you guys about last week!!! He will be working a lot but we will get a nice bonus when all is said and done!!!!

We will see a lot less of him - but it will be worth it!!! Hey - guess that gives me more time to DIS, design or make bags!!!

That's how it is at our house too- but those big fat bonus checks make it all worth it in the end!

Although my neighbor Rob does refer to my house as a museum......... Yes, I am a cleaning freak and I'm not afraid to admit it. I grew up in a small cluttered house and I vowed not to let my house become that way. So far so good, but mostly because we have a 600 sq foot bonus room that houses all of Kyle's toys which helps tremendously!!!!!!

Thanks all for the support. I thought I had the stomach flu, but I now believe it is just stress. I so appreciate all the prayers. My grandmother, Jane, finds out at 4:30pm CST about the biopsy. PD for her! She's the one that gave me the love of Disney. She and my grandfather took my brother and I to Disney every year for Spring Break in their giant motor home. We loved it, and I loved Fort Wilderness.

Anyway, I'll try to be on more. I talked to Rees' OT today, and she will go to the IEP meeting with me and DH to help us get what he needs. God never promised life would be easy. I'm just glad he gave me friends like you to get me through the tough times.

BTW, I'm all for a girls weekend. I've even got one free Delta ticket I need to use. I bet John (DH) would totally go for it. I could finally ride the big kid rides!

I've been designing this morning. It's good therapy for me. Made a Power Rangers Autograph shirt.
