I think it's pretty cool that we had post #9000 on page #600!

Congrats...I was pages behind and was wondering if post 9000 would be on page 600. You got a double milestone.

WooHoo...

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :tink: :tink: :tink: Hugs and pixie dust from Tink herself to all my DDA friends especially those that are dealing with loss, sickness, stress, etc. We sure are due for some "thick" around here. This thin stuff is getting out of hand. You are all wonderful people and you and yours will be in my prayers.

I'm off to bed. Have a team meeting tomorrow with the best team in the world. I made "better than sex" cake (at least that is what my MIL calls it) because we are having a potluck meeting. On the box, they called it "better than almost anything" cake. I hope I can resist since I'm doing so well losing my excess weight.

FINALLY......

I, too, have some great news to share.

My DH has been offered a great job as Controller for a family-friendly company! Woo Hoo!!

Thanks again to all my wonderful friends here who listened to me vent about his current employer and were kind enough to ask about his job search and send prayers and PD. DH is grinning from ear to ear. He's going from a company that asked him to take a paycut, didn't give him the promised Christmas bonus, and didn't even give him a card for his birthday, to a company that wants to take us out to eat Saturday night to celebrate the new job! He will give his two week notice this Friday (and even after all his current boss has put him through, including taking the credit for all the awesome things my DH has implemented in the year he has been there, he feels bad about leaving with just a year of work there) and start the new job on March 16th.

Thanks again for all your support during his job search.

That is great news. Now your family will have so much less stress. Yeah for you all.

Well, the DDA pixie dust works again!!! I just got off the phone with my dad, and mom is in the clear. She'll have to be tested every 3 months for a couple of years, but right now, it looks like she beat the cancer battle.

She was scheduled for heart surgery last February, and on the night before the surgery, she started to bleed from her uterus. They did some tests and found uterine cancer. Her heart was the main concern at that point, so they decided to put off the hysterectomy until she had healed up from the heart surgery. She underwent a 7 bypass and the insertion of a new valve to her heart. When she had healed sufficiently, they did the hysterectomy. During that surgery, they found the tumor had encroached her muscle wall about 60%. She had 5 radiation treatments, and the tumor shrank considerably. Today was her 6 month follow up and the tumor has not grown at all. Not even a tiny bit! I'm so relieved! I just wasn't ready to lose my mom, and after all she's been through in the last year, that was a real possibility. Watching her battle diabetes, 2 knee replacements, a hip replacement, heart problems, etc., was what made my mind up about having the gastric bypass.

It looks like I'll get to have my mom around for a while, yet. Hooray! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Cherish your parents while you have them. Life is so fleeting!

Anyway, pixie dust to Theresa still waiting on news from her mom! Thanks again, everyone!

What wonderful news! :Pinkbounc

Hello all! My Disney euphoric bubble was burst only two days after we got home. :(
My DD got so sick, she couldn't eat or drink anything for four days, took her to the doctor, and with meds she finally is getting better now.
I then got  trying to take care of her while my wife was working longer hours, trying to get caught up after our vacation. I am just starting to feel a little better now also.
DW then had a scheduled surgery on her hand (carpal tunnel release) that she just had done today. She will be off of work for a few weeks with that. The surgeon also found some cysts on her wrist and removed them also. He said that they were clear and that she will be o.k. :goodvibes
My Mom just found out that she has uterine cancer. I took her to Columbus today. They are scheduling a total hysterectomy (sp?) on the 15th of March. They are also removing her galbladder then also. The ct scan showed that she had a porcelain galbladder and that was a sign of cancer also. We are hoping and praying all goes well with that. PD for us please.
So if I am not on for awhile, or posting, please know that I am thinking of you all and am praying that all is well. :grouphug:
It seems that a lot PD is needed all around. pixiedust:
Thanks for letting me get this out, it makes me feel a little better just talking about it, and not holding it in. :grouphug:

Man the bottom fell out on you. Here are some :grouphug: :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard: . I hope that all will be well all around for your family. After catching up tonight I really need to hug my dh and kids and be thankful. Again, more :grouphug: :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard: to you and yours.

Oh, Tom - so sorry to hear all of this!

The "post Disney sickness" that seems to affect a lot of people is bad enough - but all the rest heaped on top!

Here is a big dose of DDA pixiedust: ! May it work as well for you and your family as it has for others recently. :grouphug: and prayers to all of you.

Tom -- prayers and PD for you and your family, that all the sickness is behind you and that your wife recovers quickly (and enjoys her time off!) and more prayers and PD for your mom. Please take care of yourself, too. There are a lot of people depending on you and that is very stressful, so take some deep breaths and vent on here any time you need to. I call the DDA thread my extra shoulder to lean on and an extra backbone that helps me stand taller and stronger, after posting.

Have your Ped. do some tests.
This is the 1st signs of dislaxic (sorry about the spelling).
Myself found out I was dislaxic after my son was told he was.
I had a lot of problems reading & writing.
when I was in school.
There are also many types of dislaxica.
My DS is 33 & still has problems.
Myself almost 50 still can't tell my left from my right.
Good luck with your DS.
 pixiedust:
That did cross my mind but I figure if it was dyslexia he would have problems other than just "b" and "d". I watch him read, and when he is sounding his words, he is working left to right and not mixing things up. I will keep an eye on it. Thanks.

Yes, I loved him. He killed on that song! Believe it or not, I also like Taylor. He is by no means in the same sexappeal catagory as Ace, but I like him. Like Simon said, he is interesting.

Okay AI fans - I have one more word:

Taylor!!!!

I think Taylor and Ace will be the final two - not doubt!! I thnk there are a lot of good ones - but they are the only two who made me go WOW - for the girls or guys!!
Ok, I should have read further. You and I are on the same wavelength.
