Sorry to hear about the headache. I hope it's better today.

Congrats on the 19th anniversary!!! I think DH is such a girl sometimes. I didn't remember the date our "first date" as he calls it. Get real! We where coming back from an exercise (military war game) in Hawaii. I know that doesn’t sound bad, but think of playing war games with chemical suites on for a few days and then getting up at 0300 to get on a plane for home. And no! We did not join the mile high club! I was so tired I couldn’t think straight when we got home. It was the day we decided to start dating. You think I remembered what the DATE was? But he did.

LOL...my husband can be the same way....but we never can remember the date of our first date....all depends on who you ask...but Homecoming season brings back fond memories as it was that weekend when we first went out.

I can just imagine joining the Mile High club after exercises!! You are just too danged tired to lift your head much less anything else!!

Out of curiosity - does anyone pay attention to the rest of the board or do you just stick around in here?

I have new designs posted and thought that those of you who don't look outside this thread would like to know -

this is my favorite of my new designs

KATE!!!!!!!
Ok, I request a Cinderella with the REAL castle
wink.gif
and the true Disney words... Disneyland. (don't throw things at me, you will hit your monitor):rotfl2:

And while you are at it could you do one with Belle silhouette?
I am going to need a bank loan for all the transfer paper I am buying.

I think this is outstanding!!!!!

How about toast with cinnamon and sugar? That seems to work with my kids.

Won't the cinnamon upset her tummy?
I will try it later, she is sleeping right now. She hasn't taken a nap in over six months.

You are right about the dairy. Our pediatrician told us to avoid giving dairy within 24 hours when a child has thrown up. It's just to hard on their systems. Instead, try the BRAT diet, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. I always keep Rice Krispies on hand to let my kids snack on when they are sick. Works for us!

I will try this later also. Thank you.

This may sound stupid, but I guess I didn't think she was "sick". The fever was gone over 24 hours and she gets runny diapers every so often anyway. The colorful pink floor she gave me is what made me figure out she was sick. I am not a bad mom. just not always very smart.

I understand the not knowing they are sick....my girls are so seldom sick it takes me by surprise. I :rotfl2: when I saw the colorful pink floor comment.....that is so often how we figure out we have sickies....the redecorating they do!!

When I gave Abi the cheese it didn't dawn on me she should have been following the BRAT diet as we had never dealt with food poisoning. That's the best part of parenting we learn as we go.....I won't even go into some of the not very smart things I and my husband have done! Enough to fill a book..."Parenting: A Comedy of Errors!"

How is she doing this afternoon?

I am wondering if my DDA friends could send pixie dust and prayers my way tonight. Bethie (the 2 yr old that is 20 lbs on a good day fully dressed and soaking wet) has some kind of bug. A few days ago she had a fever, I gave her Tylenol and off to bed she went. The next day she was her normal turn my hair gray / give mommy a heart attack self.

Yesterday she had some liquidly BM diapers, nothing abnormal she has those ever so often because she drinks piedasure everyday and I add baby formula for extra calories.

Today, again normal self until lunchtime she says my tummy hurts. Ok, so I ask her what she would like and she says a milkshake. No big deal, I give her one of those a week (yes the Dr knows all of this and has told me to do so many months ago to put weight on her) she picks strawberry.

I pick up Ellie from preschool and we all go home. So Bethie has another liquid diaper (not urine) and then my carpet is decorated in a lovely shade of strawberry milkshake. After Bethie decorates, Ellie from the smell and visual does her own decorating. I had to get the carpet cleaner out. Fun was had by no one.

So now today alone she has had six non-urine liquid diapers and vomited strawberry milkshake. But the girl acts like alls good mom. She was running around the house jumping and so on.

I just can’t take it when she looses weight; it freaks me out because she’s so little as it is.

So if you would send prayers and pixie dust my way tonight that my little crazy baby girl gets rid of this bug soon, I would appreciate it.

I hope that today finds Bethie doing a lot better! More prayers and pixie dust for you all.

BTW - How sweet of Ellie to help her sister feel better by sharing her experience. ;)

Theresa, Thank you for asking about Bethie. As of now she has been sleeping for almost two hours. She has had a little food and water along with 3 bad diapers, but no floor decorating today. Yeah for that.
When you decide to write the book "Parenting: A Comedy of Errors!" (I about wet my chair I am laughing so hard. love it!:lmao: ) I would be more than happy to add a few pages or even a chapter.

Still no news on grandpa. Would call, but my mom flew in from NV yesterday, and it's still 5:30am to her.

My cousin, Sabrina, is FINALLY getting married (07/07/07!) after 11 years of dating. I got THE call yesterday. I had set her up with my best friend from high school, and last July he finally asked her. She's already picked out the bridesmaids dresses, with a lovely tea rose (aka mauve) strapless dress. I really don't want to buy a dress for 07, but I'm afraid that it will be discontinued before the end of this year! Maybe I'll be joining the Weight Loss Accountability Thread...
Should be an interesting wedding with height issues! :teeth: ...the groom is 5'3", the bride 5'7"; best man 6'2 and I'm 5'4". :teeth: I'll be a blast though! If anyone is interested here's the dress. (The color she picked is the second from the last.)

I hope everyone's day is wonderful!
~Chanon

That looks like the dress I wore for my sister's wedding last April. Congratulations to your cousin! I love the choice of dates.

pixiedust: Paula-hope Bethie is on the mend. I thought BRAT was bananas, rice, applesauce and tea-but toast sounds good too. My kids would never drink the pedialite stuff but the last time Lizzy got sick she seemed to like the Gerber fruit flavored one that comes as a powder.

Chanon- pixiedust: for your grandpa and your whole family.

Nancy-best of luck and pixiedust: for Jim.

Glynis-I would check out the prices online of crocs before you shop. I thought they were pretty much the same price everywhere so they may not be too overpriced at Nordstroms. I've got a pair of Beach that I like but I could never wear them all day in the parks.

Theresa-GREAT news! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Kristin-LOVE the valance!

Vicki-love the photos of your trip. Looks like you guys had such a great time. Have fun planning a Dec trip!

I went to Micheals at lunch and found some great Mickey stickers that I'm going to use a few to decorate my clip board. SO...maybe I could have tried to design something myself but these will be easy and I still need to do her autograph cards. I also bought a white photo box for $1.49 that Lizzy can decorate to keep some souvies from the trip in. Here's a photo of the stickers:

It was 60 degrees here yesterday and now it is SNOWING!!!! I'm going to go pick up some Tevas I ordered for Lizzy. Yikes she won't need those here.

And sometimes our children fool us! We let our guard down for one minute and what do we get? Pink floors! :lmao:

No problem. My son came down with rotovirus when he was just barely 1. He threw up for 12 hours straight, and by the time we got him to the hospital, he was so dehydrated all his veins had collapsed. They finally IV'd him through his jugular vein, and started pumping fluids. The doctor told us to let him nibble on rice krispies and rice chex cereal, and to give him 1 tsp. of pedialyte every 15 minutes until we were sure he could hold it down. It was really scary for a while, but he responded well to the rice cereal and pedialyte. Then we graduated to toast and applesauce. This is a really common diet for kids who have diarrhea and vomiting.

I LOVE IT!! That looks beautiful! I try to get around to the other parts of the DDA, but don't always make it. Especially not this week, it seems, since I've been inundated with work. This is my first check into something non-working since last night at 9pm. Yuck! I need my Disney fixes!!!

You are a cruel woman Amy!!! I loved those cookies! But even loving them, 8 hours is too far to drive - even for a cookie and Chick Fil-A!!!!

KMH1 said:
Okay, I'll back off Chick-fil-a, but can I tell you (and Marti and Matt) that I decided to go ahead and bake my "famous" cookies for Alyssa's birthday party (elephants and lions). Now will you be making another 8 hour road trip on April 1st? It's a Saturday, so you-know-what will be open!!! :teeth:

And thanks for pouncing yesterday! :goodvibes

Amy :)

OH, I wore this one last summer in a wedding. She picked Apple. I'm a redhead and wasn't Thrilled about it but it is a very beautiful dress and the color turned out good too. You can't really see all of the detail on the top, but it is gorgeous!
I left it big so you could see the detail on the top of the dress.

I love the picture! The dress is very sophisticated and I think it looks good on everyone (not an easy task!)

I wish I were a bride again!!

The word "forbid" is not being taken lightly around here, but since it revolves mostly around finances, I'm gonna have to let it slide this time. ;)

Amy :)

Amy sure is like Hitler when it comes to finances!

Thanks to those that watched my back! I need all the help I can get. And I like your thinking Beth! Very creative!

That's pretty much what happened at our house last night when Kevin read Deb's post! :rotfl:

My internet service is going in and out this morning, and I really should be making the turtles I promised my dad for his birthday, so my posting party is over for now.

I hope everyone has a great day! Here's some extra :wizard: for everyone who needs some happy thoughts and some :cheer2: for all the good news too!

See you all later!
Amy :)

Oh Amy - doing turtles in the middle of the day - eeewwwwwwwwww
