Just want to post a few of my favorite pics to show off our shirts. I cannot remember who designed each and everyone of them but I will try.

The first picture is my absolute favorite. My DS was so looking forward to eating breakfast with Stitch and Lilo and it lived up to his expectations. Stitch loved his shirt and gave him some extra attention.

No sure who designed these shirts but we loved them and got lots of attention wearing them.

Edited to add: The dates on the pics is way off. For some reason my camera decided to have a mind of its own and I did not notice it till we got home. :rotfl:

LOVE THEM!!!

That is just WRONG!!!! There is no way that one test on one day should make such a major change in someone's life. My DD17 has a reading comprehension disability. She does very well on all her assignments and has a fantastic memory. However, if you give her a traditional test, chances are 50/50 that she will pass or fail. If someone reads her the test, then she has a much better chance. However, when she is sitting with a bunch of other kids, she gets stressed easily and tends to do poorly. She is basically an A/B student. She would probably be an A student if she didn't have such problems with the tests.

I totally agree. But across the board all states are pushing standardized testing. Personally I hate tests. I have had many instances where I have had to retake tests to get into things because I was one point away from the required score. I retook the test and easily passed. Just having a bad day, too much testing at one time etc. I would much rather write an essay than take a standardized test. I can BS my way through lots of things. But can't do a true/false test to save my life.

I also have issues working between the test booklets and the scantron sheets. To me a scantron sheet is a great connect the dot board or a great place to create new art work.

I actually had a standardized test, it was about three weeks after 9-11-2001. The one section was reading passages. The one section talked about New York City. It went on to talk about the Twin Towers and how from the observation deck you could see small planes flying below. I can only imagine how this could have affected anyone in the country at this time. It made me kind of upset.

I know that the test was probably written 6 months or more in advance, but still they could have done something about that section. Removed it, created a new section or something but no. It was there in the test. I could see how that could easily have made someone fail the rest of the test.

I remember when I was volunteering in a school in Florida, the fifth graders were taking the FCAT one little girl was so nervous over the test she threw up all over the test booklet. Since all test materials are state property and everything was counted before and reconted after the test. We had to keep the booklet, we sealed it up in a ziploc bag. I am sure they enjoyed receiving the additional present in the bag.

I would much rather do a project,to show what I learned instead of memorize facts that I will never remember. I know for myself I can memorize things just for the test, a half an hour later I probably couldn't recall what I was just tested on.

When my DH was in Medical School my sister (queen Kate) said if he ever leaves you, we are all standing up and saying, she really did put him through medical school!! She deserves more than half of what he makes forever!!! :rotfl2:
People really don't realize what a long hard road it can be for a doctor & his family!

Jim has boards on March 28, we could use prayers and pixie Dust here! He is on his way home now and thinks his ulcer has flared up! It is so stressful!!

Prayers for Jim.

On a different note, my grandfather isn't doing to good. His prostate cancer is flaring up, and causing a backup of fluids which is basically poisoning his blood system and causing him to be dilusional (sp?). He had surgery yesterday, which didn't help since he was taken to the ER this morning. Still waiting on the call to see how he's doing from today. Hopefully his second surgery (laser) will be rescheduled from the 24th to tomorrow or the day after. Send prayers and pixiedust: his way!

not go in the parks?!?!?!

I am not sure any of us can help you with that!! :lmao:

There are lots of things to do in Orlando without going into a park. Although the Gaylord Palms is a gorgeous resort. You could get a treatment at the spa there, it is like the top rated spa in Orlando or Florida. Spending time by the pool with a drink is a great idea as well.

Ideas in Orlando- No park

*You could check out the other Disney resorts, just don't use the pools.
*You could go mini golfing
*You could go to City Walk at Universal, parking used to be free after 6pm, not sure if it still is
*You could take a ride on the monorail, get off at each resort and have a drink at each resort
*You could watch Wishes from the Beach at the Polynesian
*You could take a stroll on the Boardwalk
*You could go to the Character Premiere Outlet Or Character Warehouse
*Check out the Savannah at Animal Kingdom Lodge
*You could use the water mice or go parasailing, rent a bicycle, go fishing
*Just people watch
*Just relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life

Enjoy you trip Nancy, whatever you decide to do. I am sure I could come up with more things but that is what I got for know.

I was wondering if I ought to try them on before ordering from the site. The only retailer nearby is a Nordstrom's, and I definitely CANNOT afford their prices. I'm hoping that the website will be cheaper even with shipping.

Thanks for your advice. What's your favorite style?

I really love all of them, since they are really more for comfort as far as I'm concerned. The one I wear most frequently, though are the Aspens. They don't have holes anywhere (top or along the sides), which I feel better with while in the hospital. I also like the Metro, which have 'vents' around the edges, but are solid on top. They are all comfy though! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

OK, here is the valance that I made for Kyle's room using iron-ons. I feel like Martha Stewart!!!!!!!!

That's really cool! My dad would have loved it. He retired from the Michigan Dept. of Transportation (MDOT) after 30+ years and was very proud of that fact. He painted a tricycle orange for my daughters and put on a sticker with the MDOT logo when they were little. They loved to sit in the big plow trucks when they'd go to work with him. When he retired, my uncle made a cake with a construction scene on the top with all kinds of vehicles, signs, etc. When he died, the same uncle called MDOT and asked that they have a big orange plow lead the funeral procession to the cemetery (which they gladly agreed to even though Dad was buried in his hometown not the one that he worked in).

So Kyle and I just watched the History Channel Modern Marvels show about WDW again. I had seen it, but he hadn't so we recorded it the other day.

I wanna go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As soon as it was done I mentioned that some DDAs were going down in May. He thinks it's cool, but didn't suggest I go or anything. It's 2 weeks before our graduation trip and a week or so before my NCLEX.... but I really don't care right now! I won't have a job yet, so I see it as the perfect time to go! :rotfl:

Chanon-

Your grandpa and your family is in my prayers!!!

Cassidy is doing better but I am keeping her out tommorow....she just sounds funny now.
Hopefully she's better by tommorow night as we get to go her a district wide elementary band concert with her sister in it. (payback for all the concerts Abi has had to sit through!! :rotfl2: )

I am a huge advocate of making sure the schools are keeping up with the needs of the kids but some of the newest regulations are bonkers!! A lot have to do with the No Child Left Behind. Sometimes I wonder what planet politicians live on and if I could live there because it seems to be nowhere near my reality.

Ok. Katrina e-mailed me the picture of Tinkaroo (Lindsay) & I at Disney. Now you know why Becky thinks Lindsay is gorgeous. Her DH is gorgeous as well. They are also a very friendly couple. We really enjoyed our short conversation with them.

You can see some of my other Disney 2006 pictures by clicking on the link in my signature. They are of my DD17 Becky, DD20 Katrina, DH Chuck & myself.

Pal Mickey may be in there as well (much to the dismay of the rest of my family). If he isn't in any of these, he'll be in the ones once I get them from Katrina (if she hasn't deleted them - she is sure that Disney is brainwashing me through Pal Mickey - she also says he probably has a GPS tracking unit in him so they know where I am at all times and that they are recording my every comment ;) ).

That is great news! I hope that another day of rest tomorrow does the trick. I'm not even going to get started on the testing!
