Does anyone have any Universal designs? Or is anyone willing to do some? I don't know who is still designing/not designing so I didn't want to PM someone specifically. I don't need these right away.

Welcome home Vicki and Lindsay!
Good to see you -

I have some universal designs - check my gallery under universal or pm me!!

Now we have to get working on our t-shirt plan - b/c we obviously need to wear DDA originals!!!
Yes, where do we stand on that?

Marti handed control of her shirts over to me - I am going to order hers and make them for her - do you want me to do yours too? I am going to PM you!!

I'll be there too! I'm sure you don't want to hang out with a 7 year old but hope I can at least meet you guys. Maybe a dinner?

Just wanted to share that Kyle did match. We still have to wait until Thursday to find out where, but we don't have to scramble! Keep those students in your prayers, though, that did not match. The next few days are going to be quite tough for them, one of Kyle's friends included.

Congrats!! :Pinkbounc

I know what a huge deal that is - I can't wait to hear where!!

I am going to share my designs here, but I won't add them to my design gallery until after our trip. These designs will probably go on the front of a shirt and the character name with clipart that I did before will go on the back.

Kevin's Mickey Head design yesterday triggered these designs. I wanted something for each of us with our favorite characters, but I wanted a common connection so that we would still match. So what do you all think?

Deb
those are just adorable!!

Okay now it's my turn to ask if I am overreacting:

On my return this weekend from my retreat I found out Cassidy had been running a fever all weekend. I told her at 5 last night I was calling her in sick today. She absolutely FREAKED!! "mom I have to go to school I have a test tommorow in Social Studies and if I miss it I have to make it up Wednesday at 7 (in the morning) and it will be all essays." Normally I wouldn't think anything about it other than it being odd...but this is the week of CSAPs(state mandated testing) so she not only would have to do that test but then go into school and do 4-5 hours of mandatory testing. Against my better judgement I let her go in today to do the test(which of course :confused3 was near the end of the day) she now will be out tommorow and maybe later from school from the state mandated tests. Am I nuts?
I have no advice - just wanted to say I hope she is feeling better!!

I do have a rule in my house though - my kids well being comes before everything else!!

My best friend called, I am meeting her in Orlando March 28-31. We are staying at teh Gaylord Palms! I think it is VERY nice. She is on a business trip, so mostly the trip will be free!! :cool1: :cool1:

I don't think I'll spring for Disney tcikets this trip, I need some serious down time. What you would do???

Should we visit Pleasure Island? Adventurers Club? Where should we shop?I will be scoring major lay by the pool time!

Marti, I have never had a dole whip, but seeing as you like Chick fil a so much, I am not sure I value your culinary advice, but can I get one outside the parks? Tha is one poorly constructed run on sentence. Amy, are you around???

My favorite memory of going on a business trip with DH was laying by the pool at 10 am reading a book and drinking the frozen drink du jour!! I think I'll do that while she meets clients! It si so decadent!!!!!!!
not go in the parks?!?!?!

I am not sure any of us can help you with that!! :lmao:

Just had to share this with you.

DH plays in a marching band. In fact it is the second oldest band in the US. They (New Holland Band, Pa) are celebrating their 150th year. This means a lot of celebrating this year. They even made a 37 minute film which they will show later this year. They are even going to try to get it on PBS.
The members range in age from 13 to 91. Naturally the older ones do not march anymore :lmao:
My DH is so into music that when he passes on, he wants the band to play a few numbers for him. They all have that in their wills, I swear.

So Sunday was their annual Spring Concert. The music was excellent, good choices were played. They always end with Stars and Stripes.
This song really gets to me. I can still remember Andy playing the Bass Drum at his daughter's funeral and wacking the he// out of it.
That is what music means to me

Thanks for sharing this! What a wonderful story. Music is such a wonderful way to lift our spirits, and stir our memories.

I cannot imagine doing it with children. My first semester I had a 3.75 GPA which I was really happy with since I had been out of school so long and I had that bad marketing prof and I also took exams to test out of 3 other classes along with taking 2 classes. After that I had a straight 4.0 until I took International Economics. The prof was SO full of himself. He assigned at least 500 pages of reading a week plus at thousands of extra reading available only at the library. I live 50 miles from school. And I had to come to the realization that if I didn't get a 4.0 from him my world wasn't going to end. Once I made that decision it was much less stressful. I don't remember what grade I got in that class but I still ended up with a 3.9 overall and you know what-noone has ever asked me what my GPA was. It is the degree that counts. I think 1 class a semester sounds likes a good idea.

Good advice. That's basically what I've decided with my professor. I'm just going to do the best that I can, and be happy with the fact that I'm learning, no matter what. I'm just grateful that summer is coming and I can have a break from school. Actually, I need to take an elective class and I just found out that I can take a class that lasts 2 weeks, is based at the Utah Shakespearean Festival (that's the theater my dad founded), and would consist of watching 6 plays, writing a couple of papers, and going to seminars with actors, directors and other theatrical people. And I could stay with my mom for those 2 weeks. It's a win-win situation. An easy way to get the 2 credits that I need!

That's the best rule I've ever heard. Good mantra for us moms.

That sounds like so much fun!!! I love Shakespearean Festivals....I love watching the different takes on all of the plays.
Two weeks with my mom sounds good too!!

Amy is officially in charge of recaps - has she done one yet for you?

What?!! Just because you're the "Queen," doesn't mean you get to randomly assign duties! :teeth:

Besides, I have pregnancy-brain...I can't remember anything! Why do you think we have so many "to do" lists lying around here in anticipation of our trip and Alyssa's party?!! :lmao:

Amy :)

Being in Colorado, you are near one of the best in the country. You ought to come over to Cedar City, Utah and check out our Festival. We've been ranked in the top 5 in the nation. We also won the Tony award in 2000. If you're interested, check out their website at www.bard.org. There's some fun stuff to see. It would be fun to have you come and check us out!

The state tests are for the state, teachers, and schools benefit - not the kids. I have a very hard time with the state tests for this reason. Some children don't do well in test environments - this doesn't mean that they aren't brilliant - how many of our famous scientists & inventors actually completed school???!!!

I hope that your daughter is feeling better soon. My daughter had to take the make-up tests and did just fine on them. I think you made the right decision - the regular exam yesterday was more important to your daughter and her future since it is part of her actual grade for school. Remind her that the state tests are not for her benefit so just to relax and get well.
i am a education major in texas and we as students hate the state test for the kids. they push the test so much that it stresses everyone out. the state test here is if you dont pass you dont move on. it sucks. i do agree with you updisney kids might freak at tests or they arent feeling well that dya. its only one day out of the school year they get tested and that says if they are smart enough to move on to the next grade. i think not.

My favorite to go to in the states has been the travelling one through MT....they do a wonderful job on almost no budget! Except I think they all do amazing things with no money. I haven't been to a Colorado performance in eons.

What a great line up for this season for you to choose from!! I may have to try and make it up next summer....focus this summer is getting us to WDW than I will work something in for Utah and Idaho next vacation!!

Thank you for your support Tammi!! Unlike others you are a loyal subject!!! :thumbsup2

It's a good think Amy isn't going to WDW with us or I might consider banishing her from the trip!!!

and Miss Pregnancy Brain - I did not just randomly assign this job to you - you used to do it on the other thread - would you like a refresher -

You claim you didn't do them but apparently you were posting recaps along the way!!!
