Tom, these are all incredible! Leighanna looks so grown up! You can tell that she had a great time!

Hi, Glynis. Actually he's not doing well at all and has missed school all week. He was in the hospital on Wednesday. He's having horrible stomach pains, swollen and distended abdomen, and his belly is completely filled with air. They have no idea why, so we're treating it symptomatically and one thing at a time. What we have been trying since the hospital Wed didn't work, and he ended back there again today. So now we try something else until Monday. I have no idea when he'll be back at school. Sorry to be such a downer, but it's been a long week. We were so upset to cancel our WDW trip for last week because of his health and money, but now we totally see it was for the best.

Hate to post and run, but Alan is surprising me by taking me out! We're heading to IKEA to look at bunkbeds for the twins, and an entertainment center. We'll have dinner at the cafe, there, and then take in a movie. Probably see Harry Potter 5 again! There doesn't seem to be anything else that we can agree on!

Bernadette - Well, where we lose most of the value on DDP is that DS still orders from the kids' menu but he counts as an adult on DDP. At places like Coral Reef he is happy with the soup, entree, and ice cream for $7.50 or whatever. When I saw how much we could have saved with the AP discount instead of the "Free" dining I really started to question the value of it for our family. We are TS junkies and there are multiple days each trip where we do 2 TS in one day. Getting to the ADRs doesn't bother us in the least (as long as it is just the 3 of us). But even if the Deluxe plan was discounted I still don't think we would save over the amount we would save by having the AP discount on the room.
If we saved $70 per night with the AP and moved that $70 over to our daily food budget there is NO WAY we would spend that much more money on food. We usually budget about $150 per day if we are paying OOP. That would bump us up to $220 per day on nothing but food, and we'd be using the DDE on our TS meals which would cover the tips. I am almost certain we have never spent all of our food money when we have allowed $150 per day, even if some days we spent more there were other days we spent less. If DS ever started to eat normal sized portions I still don't think he would cost us over $70 more each day in food.

OK. Let's ponder something a little less heavy!

I got a PM from somebody on another board. I mostly lurk there, and I don't know one poster from another. So they PM and ask me a question, but they want me to reply NOT through the board's PM system, but by e-mail. I pulled up my profile and it is pretty much blank - it doesn't say my city and state which would be pertinent to the question they asked. I did reply through the board's system because I don't particularly want to hand out my e-mail address to strangers. Is that odd? I don't want to be rude, but I don't want a bunch of spam or viruses or whatever other ugliness could come through e-mail.

Oh, and my username there is different than it is here, so it isn't somebody who already knows me from the DIS.

You did the right thing..I wouldn't give my email to anyone I didn't know.

I know we made out WAY ahead with the meal plan in August. Even a breakfast character meal with DDE discount cost more than the $110 we paid per day with 2 adults and 3 kids. BUT I don't plan to do the meal plan again. There were SO many meals we would have skipped if we hadn't already paid for them on the meal plan. I felt the DDP tied us down too much. I would still plan my days and book ADR's but if we weren't up for a meal I would call and cancel. I wouldn't feel like we had to go.

My feelings exactly!!!! I love TS meals but we weren't that hungry in all the heat & we did feel like we to run to catch our ADR's. I think I am just going to use the DDE card & skip the DDP next family trip.

I so wanted a pictue with the Goofy statue. I couldn't find it and a CM told me that they were refurbbing Goofy. Hopefully he will be back in place by the time all the Oct. DDAers are there!

Glad to hear your back is feeling better!

My back is feeling much better today. It still hurt with different movements, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. The only way that I can think of to describe it is to equate it to a major charlie horse that wouldn't release. I remember waking up in the night with Charlie Horses, but being able to massage them out. The one in my back just wouldn't release, it was like all the muscles locked up at once. I think that it has release now and I just have the residual soreness. Thanks for all the well wishes.
