OK. Let's ponder something a little less heavy!

I got a PM from somebody on another board. I mostly lurk there, and I don't know one poster from another. So they PM and ask me a question, but they want me to reply NOT through the board's PM system, but by e-mail. I pulled up my profile and it is pretty much blank - it doesn't say my city and state which would be pertinent to the question they asked. I did reply through the board's system because I don't particularly want to hand out my e-mail address to strangers. Is that odd? I don't want to be rude, but I don't want a bunch of spam or viruses or whatever other ugliness could come through e-mail.:scared:

Oh, and my username there is different than it is here, so it isn't somebody who already knows me from the DIS.

I think you handled it correctly...I wouldn't ever not go through the PM system except for with those people I know!!

I KNEW I had seen the William Tell Overture mom before....she was a speaker at at least one conference I've been to...not only hilarious but an absolutely amazing speaker!!:goodvibes

The name is familiar. I think I have seen her on Oprah or somewhere.

I think you handled it correctly...I wouldn't ever not go through the PM system except for with those people I know!!

Thanks!:) There is just something kind of "off" about asking for a reply through e-mail. Although I will say that board doesn't alert you when you have a PM - if you aren't looking for it you would never know!

Now thoes I know we don't get around here.

I have a hard time eating apples but the girls love Red delicous and Jim will eat just about any apple....I love the grapple as a sometime treat.

Elizabeth, the DIS will alert you to PMs (they have a pop up box) you have to set it up though.

I have a theory on this, Terry... We all wear ourselves out planning these trips that we are susceptible to all those nasty germs floating around out there.

What follows is not aimed at anyone in particular, but to all of us! A reminder that lots of rest and fluids and good eating habits and supplemental vitamins (if you choose) make for better vacations than all those minute-by-minute itineraries.

And I am not sending postcards this trip either, Terry. The reason?? I don't have time right now without making myself sick! :rotfl:
Very good theory. Of course wearing ourselves out on the trip may also add to it. And I think flying exposes you to lots of nasty germs too. I will definately try to follow your advice in November. I'm not too sure I can in January-since I'm going about 2 weeks after Christmas but I will try!!!!!!!!!

Probably McIntosh, but I also really like Jonathans.
I'll have to try Janathans as I do like Mac's. I also really like McCowns-they taste a lot like a Mac but they are crunchier- but they don't last long so you can only get them this time of year.

Thanks for all the well wishes! I still am congested, but having 9 hours of sleep really helped.
I'm so glad you're feeling a bit better but don't over do it! Laundry, suitcases, and lawn aren't going anywhere.

My back is feeling much better today. It still hurt with different movements, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. The only way that I can think of to describe it is to equate it to a major charlie horse that wouldn't release. I remember waking up in the night with Charlie Horses, but being able to massage them out. The one in my back just wouldn't release, it was like all the muscles locked up at once. I think that it has release now and I just have the residual soreness. Thanks for all the well wishes.
Glad to hear your back is a bit better. Hope its completely better soon!

Princess wants to go see Arabella today, so I guess we'll stop in on the way to Sam's. Fridays we don't really HAVE to go anywhere or do anything, so right now we are just hanging out and she is playing with her toys.:)
Hope you had a fun day!

Thanks for the zoobs idea! Their website says my local book/toy store has them. I think those would be better than a huge lego set. I may get some of those and a lego car-a bit bigger than what he has now but not huge.

So I spent the morning wondering if I could add a day to the October trip. Pop has availablity, the car rental would be less than $20 more, but the airfare would be an extra $100 each :scared1: Then Chris would need another day off and we would want MNSSHP tickets. By the end the trip would cost us at least double what it is now. I guess I will just have to be happy with 2 days. Of course SW could give us a DING, but that is highly unlikely. Bummer
I keep wondering why Joe & I don't fly on Saturday the 5th instead of Sunday. The flights are only $20 more but I'd have to pay a $35/person change fee. I don't think I'll do that but I will probably fly in on Saturday with Emma in May.

Here is an article on the funeral yesterday:

there is a slide show on the right hand side of the funeral...moving pictures.
:sad1: So sad but a really great photographer.

Elizabeth, the DIS will alert you to PMs (they have a pop up box) you have to set it up though.

I know - I have it set to do the pop-up box and the e-mail alert. The PM I got isn't from the DIS, it's from another board.:)

Bernadette - The Zoobs are pretty cool. I think Joe would enjoy them!

I am sitting here TRYING to crunch numbers for next August. If they don't offer Bounce Back then the issue is moot, but I have been thinking about what if they DO offer it in December and it is the way it was this year that the dates for Bounce Back match the dates that they offered to UK visitors. IF they have Bounce Back and IF it starts Aug. 10 and IF DH can get that week off then would we be better off booking Deluxe free dining than we would be paying for food OOP? I *think* it would cost about $33 per day more to have the "free" DDP than it would cost to have a AAA room discount and pay OOP with DDE for food. But it would be sooooo convenient to have the option of 3 TS per day or 1 signature and one TS. We could do a buffet breakfast and a signature dinner and have 2 snacks per person, which would suit us quite nicely. All speculation, of course. But they are saying on the Resorts board that Bounce Back booking dates have now been extended through Oct. 12. That doesn't interest me that much because you still have to travel Aug. 30- Sept. 29, 2008 or something, but it is interesting that they extended the time frame that you can book it. So MAYBE when I am there in December they will let me bounce back starting Aug. 10?:confused3 and then there is th AP discount issue, which would mean we would be paying about $65 more per day, which really adds up over 7 or so nights. Hmm....

They are incredible!!! Very crisp!! Cameo has a bit of bite to it, and the Pink Lady is so sweet and juicy. Neither are very good to bake with, but they are fabulous for eating or covering with caramel!

Here are a few photos from our trip. SIL took lots of photos too. ( I hope I won't have to wait a year to receive them)
I probably have over 2,000 photos to weed through!

OK. I think I have decided that even if they do offer Bounce Back that we'll come out better having an AP discount and paying for food as we go along. Paying OOP I know we won't order appetizer and dessert for each of us at every meal, and if we did do some CS we would lose a lot of the value. Especially since the deluxe dining costs $32 per person, per day when it is "free". And we'd STILL be paying for gratuities on the actual cost of the food we got, which would mean tipping on appetizers and desserts we wouldn't have ordered otherwise. Somebody remind me of all this if I am tempted to book anything that resembles "free" dining. It isn't free and it ends up costing us MORE!

What a beautiful daughter you have. Those outfits are adorable. I can't get over it whenever I see them.

I know we made out WAY ahead with the meal plan in August. Even a breakfast character meal with DDE discount cost more than the $110 we paid per day with 2 adults and 3 kids. BUT I don't plan to do the meal plan again. There were SO many meals we would have skipped if we hadn't already paid for them on the meal plan. I felt the DDP tied us down too much. I would still plan my days and book ADR's but if we weren't up for a meal I would call and cancel. I wouldn't feel like we had to go.

Tom I love the pictures. Leighanna is beautiful and you all look so happy. :goodvibes

I just basted the last tie dye shirt so now I need rubber bands and dye. It will be nice to have my Christmas projects done early. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the comments. I have so many cute photos of Leighanna this year. I wouldn't want to bore anyone with too many of them!

Welcome home, Tom. The pics of Leighann are wonderful and you look fabulous! You can definitely tell the weight loss. :thumbsup2

Thanks, I probably gained a few pounds on this trip though!:sad2:

I don't think that we will do the DDP again. It was too rough to try to get all around and together at the slotted times each day. I think that next time I will just make a few ADR's at the places I know that we REALLY want to go, and spread them out a little.

I think the heat and humidity also didn't help. We really weren't hungry very much at all, CS would have done us just fine on most days!
