Any mortgage rate specialists out there? Paula maybe? we are currently in a variable rate mortgage that was locked into a fixed rate for the first several years. Our rate will go variable on July 1, 2009. I'm thinking that now that I have a regular income that we should consider refinancing and locking into a totally fixed rate mortgage. Our loan officer quickly crunched some numbers and even if we wrap the closing costs into the mortgage we would only go up about $30 per month over our current mortgage. The rate she was looking at was 6.625%. Has anyone been watching the trends. Would it be wise to lock in now or wait awhile longer? She said the the mortgage rate never dropped below 6% even at it's lowest so it doesn't seem unreasonable. I must admit that I have not paid any attention to mortgage rates, but I'm confident that someone here will have an answer for me.

This months Disney Backstage Pass has me so excited about our trip in Dec! I can't wait :dance3: The castle will be transformed to look like an Ice Castle for MVMCP :thumbsup2

I saw Denise's thread about that yesterday. It looks beautiful, and I can't wait!

I've been trying to keep up, but adjusting to our new schedule has thrown me off a bit. Alyssa loves school, and I think she had fun at ballet too. Matthew, on the other hand, is not so keen on leaving Alyssa in her classroom. By Thursday, he pitched a fit! Every time we get back to the van, he looks at her empty carseat, shrugs his shoulders, and says, "La?" :goodvibes

I'm taking the kids up to Huron on Thursday night. Kevin has a horrendous month of meetings, so he won't be joining us. My niece's 5th birthday party is on Saturday, so we'll have a fun weekend of catching up with my side of the family.

Sending :wizard: and :grouphug: to you all.

Amy :)

I am so excited, Stephanie just handed me my ME luggage tags  :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2: :thumbsup2 :yay: pixiedust: ::yes:: :rockband: :jumping1: :rainbow: :jumping3: :ccat: :simba: :mickeyjum

Sorry Kevin will not be able to join you. Hope you have a wonderful time!

that's what ours is. I would lock in right now....they are expecting the numbers to rise for awhile and I would hate for you to get caught with something nasty!!

Deb, hope what ever the problem is, you start feeling better soon.

Janet, having the castle all lit up sounds great. Wish we were going in December.

Deb - Feel better soon!

Marci - I would LOVE for DS to only have one hour of homework! But I can't imagine getting DS to Shelton and back every day!:scared: Which is a silly thing to say since you guys live so much farther than we do. Anyway, I am going to call the school and the Dr. today and see what sort of progress we can make. One of his homework assignments last night was 20 math problems that he CHOSE to do over because he didn't get a good score on them. But without those he still would have had a solid 2 hours of homework.

It is a very nice day here! The Pearl said 69 degrees when I was driving in. It actually felt COOL when we left the house! The radio said the high is only 80 today! I wonder if it will last? I would love to get Princess to the zoo and some other outdoor things!

OK - brag about the cool -- hot and humid here. I was so hot by the time I got off the metro this morning. They say it will be cooler here tomorrow, but I'll be in class and then leave late in the day.

My bet will be that DFW will be nice today and tomorrow, then warmer (since I get back late tomorrow)!

Hi everyone! We had a visit from our Disney Rep today! We sat and talked about the F&WF for almost a half hour! For those going during the season, he mentioned not to get the Rosemont from Australia - you can buy a bottle cheaper, but highly recommended the Wolf Blass Shiraz and Penfolds. He also recommended the White Star champagne. He also raved about the Irish Cheddar Cheese Stick offered with the Potato Leek Soup.
Another tidbit that he's hopeful for: 2008 Standard Dining to offer EITHER the appitzer OR dessert as a selection. He's really hopeful it'll change by 2008!!!

I was hoping that would be the change....then we could get 2 desserts and 2 appetizers....more than enough for my crowd!!

I hate cooking dinner because my family is so freaking picky. They won't eat anything with mushrooms or onions in it. Ken doesn't like rice or veggies that are cooked in a dish. Owen doesn't like anything remotely spicy. Shane just doesn't like anything period. I feel like giving them cereal for dinner for the next week. Seriously. It makes me so mad.

Great info, Chanon. The Wine Walkabout in Australia is probably the most economical way to drink the Australian wines as you can choose which ones you want for your $10 fee. Lots of good ones to choose from, usually. The Penfolds they offer is their Koonunga Hills line and it is very good. And the Wolf Blass Shiraz Cabernet is scrumptious!! I have a bottle in my wine rack now. hmmmmmmmmmmmm....
