I'm glad you are feeling better today, and that Katie was there to help out! Isn't it amazing how our kids can step up to the plate when needed?

That's for sure! She's really grown up a lot this year!

:sad1: my poor dog. chip is shaking up a storm. right now it is not thundering or raining but he is shaking like crazy. im about 5 ft away and i can see him shaking.it hurts me that he was treated so unfairly before my grandmother got him. :sad1: off to watch dr phil

Well, I'm off to take the kids to the carnival. Hopefully we won't have to stay too long as it looks like it may rain at any minute! I'll see you all in a few hours!

I am done with elementary school!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The kids did a great job....sang some songs......teachers talked way too long.

Hope you have a great time & the rain stays away!

I've been waiting for car rental rates to drop for July/August, but they are going up. right now I have a midsize SUV for just under $600 for 22 days. I figured I'd better have a plan just in case no last minute deals pop up. I will have to check the name your price sites once we get closer. that is the last piece that I need to put in place reservation wise.

They think it might be due to low iron. My doctor keeps upping my iron intake, and I have noticed that the spells are fewer and farther between. I have an appointment with my doctor after we get back from DL, so I'll have them check my iron again.

I do notice that the spells come when I am stressed out. Alan being out of town definitely qualifies as stress on me. I've been journaling these spells, and stress seems to be the biggest factor.
Wow, Katie is something else! What a help! Hope you take care of yourself.

Did I mention that it's our 17th anniversary on Saturday? Alan preordered tickets for Pirates 3 for Saturday afternoon!!! What a thoughtful husband to give my eye candy on our anniversary!!!!!
Happy Anniversary!! What a nice way to spend it.

Thank you all for the nice comments on the girl's dance pictures.:)

After lots of thought I've come to the conclusion that as much as I really, really, really want to join in all the fun of the DDA meet I just can't do it. It would be in the middle of our budget process and I really can't ask for time off then even if just for a long weekend. I don't think I'd be able to enjoy the trip knowing what I had waiting for me on my return. I've got the best boss in the world and I just don't have it in me to tell him I want to take another trip to Disney during the most important task of my job.

SO....I've decided to go in November instead. The big review with the president is 10/29. I've booked a trip for Lizzy & I 11/8 to 11/13. She always has the Friday before Veteran's day off from school so we'll go for 5 nights and she'll only miss 2 days of school. I'll use 3 vacation days. My last trip was 5 nights and I needed 5 vacation days. My friend who has gone on 8 of my last 10 trips will probably join me with her DH (he's gone with us 3 times too). I bought my airfare for $238 [couldn't find anything under $400 for the DDA dates]. She's got $90 in credits from December but hasn't bought her airfare. Hope she doesn't wait too long as I'm sure it will go way up for the holiday weekend.

I want to take Joe for his 7th birthday in January and I just took him in December so I thought this was a good oportunity to take Lizzy. Emma will get her trip when she uses a public restroom-she says that will be when she's a teenager.:rotfl: I'm hoping she'll be ready next May.

I haven't told Lizzy yet but did mention to both her Joe today that want to take Joe for his 7th birthday. She was really great about it. Didn't ask when her next "solo" trip would be. I was really proud of her that she could just be happy for Joe.

AND......I got an extra pay check this week for my retroactive pay raise to Jan 1st and it is enough for the November trip (assuming my friend pays 1/2 of the Pop room).:thumbsup2

Bernadette,

So sorry you will not be able to make the trip.
I do know that that is a very stressfull time for Stephane and can understand your feelings.
Hopefully we will be able to meet another time.

Good luck with the rental :wizard:

How are you feeling?

Evening all.
Had a great day Sunday @ B.G.
The C.C.R concert was a lot of fun.
Sounded just as great as they did 30 odd years ago.

Ribyn, here's my idea for the girls shirts,

How cute.

Hope you have a great time & the rain stays away!

Thanks for the thought. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time we were there! It was still fun, though. The kids played games, won prizes, participated in a cake walk where Katie won a cake, ate hot dogs and chips, and now we're home! The only regret I have is that things were so chaotic I didn't have a chance to look through the silent auction items. Usually, Alan takes care of the kids while I look through and make some bids. Oh well, more money for Disney!

Happy Anniversary!! What a nice way to spend it.

I have a feeling that the reason Alan is letting me see Johnny, is so that I'll be in "the mood" later that night! Hmmm, he might be on to something!

Here are a few pictures of Alyssa's recital from yesterday. Because she is in the 4/5 year old class, they do their recital in the studio. I just they have found with this age a lot of the kids get stage fright if they do it in an auditorium in the high school. This way they are where they are comfortable.

What a pretty Princess.

Deb - it sounds like you had a GREAT weekend and NO RAIN! YIPPIE SKIPPIE. I wish you were feeling 100% though. Maybe after those train tracks are built you can take another nap. :)

Deb, I am glad you guys had fun! And no rain! YAY!

I just keep thinking of the comment you made a day or two ago about the lower end salary family. If it is a financial stretch for them, that could cause problems in the future. If you do like both families fairly well, then you can't help buy lean towards the higher salary. If I remember right, you have already been making less than you should because of a bad raise-boss in the past. This would bring you up to where you probably should be, they are a family you like, the hours are less... I think that if contract negotiations go well, you can't help but lean towards the higher-salary family. Either way, good luck this week. I know that things will work for the best. :wizard:  :wizard:

Yeah, well, keep reading.;)

I just did something that I NEVER do. I just called into work sick. I've still got the sore throat, but now I've got a fever and shakes too. I feel pretty weak. If it weren't for shaking I would go to work, but I'm not sure how I'd do carrying the trays while trembling. Thankfully I'm not scheduled again until Thursday so I should be fine by then. I HATE to call in. Now I feel bad that they are going to be short handed.

Deb, feel better soon!

I just ordered The Little Mermaid on Broadway tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are for Katie & Sophie's birthday present...I got 6th row in November!!!!!!!!!:cool1:
I am so excited! :yay: :yay: :yay:

How fun!

I just heard of something that one of our movie theaters is starting this summer: Movies for Mom's. One morning a week (this will be year round), in one of the 17 theaters in the complex, a movie will be shown where mom's can bring their babies. It will be a discounted "second run" showing of a "chick flick", and they are saying that strollers, playpens, nursing mothers, etc., will all be welcome. Each mother will be given a head set to wear so they can hear the movie, and kids will be allowed to play, etc. If I had little kids, I might be tempted to do this. I think it's a great idea!

We have "cry baby matinee" at one of the theaters, but I have never been. That dizzy spell sounds scary! I'm glad you feel better today!

Hi Marci! Sounds like you made the best of having to endure conferences. I'm sure you had to twist Marti's arm real hard to join you :upsidedow I am glad she joined you, that was very sweet! Also happy to hear you were able to meet Claire, hope to see more pictures!

Great pics! I also didn't realize that you were in Orlando last week!

Glad to hear you are feeling better Glynis! Katie did a wonderful job of taking care of everyone :cloud9:

I can't believe your trip is so close :cool1:

Ditto!

If I had a dog I would have to get one of those!:rotfl2:

Happy Anniversary!

Well, I was on the phone the entire day today. I talked with 3 of my friends who are long term nannies, I talked with the placement agent, I talked with DH. DH said there is just something about the job that pays all that money that he can't quite place. Somethign that makes him a little uneasy. The more I thought about it, the more I thought that as the time to start that job approached the more apprehensive I would feel. I really wanted the job with the little girl. I hemmed and hawed, and I finally called the agent and told her that I am just not comfortable and I don't think that job with all the money would be s good fit for me long term. Obviously she was not happy to hear that, but at least she wasn't ugly. Then I called the mom with the little girl and told her they win! They are the family I want to work for.:goodvibes

It is NOT less money, it is more, just not as MUCH more as the other family. But this little girl loves to go out and do things like Chuck E. Cheese which DS also loves and would have been off limits in that other job. So I was really happy. Until...

Momboss came home and I told her I chose a family and I will start either June 18 or 25. She freaked out on me and told me that I basically stabbed her in the back and that tomorrow will be my last day.:scared1: She said we had a deal. Um, yes. The deal is that if I find a job before the end of August that I will TAKE IT and give them as much notice as I can. I think a MONTH notice is pretty generous, considering my written contract says two weeks. But this is an at-will employment state so if she wants me to be fired tomorrow then that's that. I told her it is a MONTH away and that I don't think she really wants for me to leave like this, but she was FURIOUS and said that I have to do what's best for my family and she has to do what's best for hers. So, leaving the kids alone after tomorrow is best? School is over! Or bringing in a stranger to temp for them is best for her family? Or treating me like dirt when I have NEVER concealed any of my interviews or intentions is best for her family? Hmm. OK.

Dadboss came in just as she told me to get out. So I very calmly and politely explained to Dadboss that I did choose a family and that I would let the new family know I couldn't start before June 25. He thought for a second, said that gives them more than a month to find a replacement and that will be fine. And he congratulated me. He was very nice and didn't yell at me or tell me I am fired. So we'll see what sort of greeting I get tomorrow. I told Momboss to call my friend who said she will help out, but I almost think she doesn't WANT a solution - she wants to be mad at me.
