Hi Marci! Sounds like you made the best of having to endure conferences. I'm sure you had to twist Marti's arm real hard to join you :upsidedow I am glad she joined you, that was very sweet! Also happy to hear you were able to meet Claire, hope to see more pictures!

I was there for a conference Monday - Thursday of last week, and Marti joined me, which was great. I hate going to conferences and having to eat alone. It was torture watching the families get ready to go to the parks every morning, and me trotting out to seminars about working with the government, but it was sure fun meeting Claire and Lee and spending more time with Marti. We did manage to get about 7 hours in the parks, a few one morning and a few more hours one evening. That picture Marti posted shows me with my splash mountain hair. The first ride we went on the morning that I didn't have seminars was Splash. To say we got wet is an understatement -- I had water dripping down my face.... then changed to go to the conferences and changed to go to DTD without getting a shower.

Anne Marie - you have such beautiful dancers. At what age did you start putting your girls in more than one class? I know Alyssa would love tap too, but she is doing so good at ballet that I really want her to stick with it. Being only 5 I don't know if she (or I) could handle more than one class a year.

Ok, I know you didn't ask me, but I might as well share anyway, right? ;) :rotfl:

I started both tap and ballet at 3, and added jazz at about 7 or 8. Then I just went with ballet at about 10, when I was "more serious" about it  I think my parents wanted to expose me to a few and then sort of narrow it down from there, instead of adding a new one on when I was already comfortable with one. That might not help, but just another way to approach it. Certainly every little girl is different, though! :goodvibes

ETA: Tia's idea of a combo class is good too, just ask to see the class first. I taught a tap/ballet/tumbling class for a year, and it was really hard to cram real technique into it. It was just under an hour though. It might be a great way to at least expose Alyssa to both, though!

Glad to hear you are feeling better Glynis! Katie did a wonderful job of taking care of everyone :cloud9:

I can't believe your trip is so close :cool1:

Whew! I'm all caught up!!!

Sorry I never got back on last night. After our KFC dinner, we watched Mulan, and I was getting the kids ready for bed, when a dizzy spell hit me! This was the worst one yet! I was shaky, sweaty, and really icky!!! I haven't had a spell like this since Christmas, so I was totally unprepared for it. Thankfully, Katie could see what was happening. She got me to the couch and made me lie down. Then she took over getting the twins ready for bed, she read stories to them, tucked them in and then she and Jacob got themselves in bed. It took me a couple of hours to get over this spell, and by then I was wiped out!!! Alan called right in the middle of it, and he was so upset that he wasn't there. Katie just assured him that she had everything under control. When did my baby grow up so much???

Thanks Janet! Clare and Marti were the best part! I shouldn't complain as a conference at Disney is better than visiting another city -- I was just green with envy smelling the sunscreen each morning and not playing all day.

Glynis -- you sure do have a grown-up young lady! Do they know what causes your spells? I hope they have gone away permanently!

Shrek was good. Not as good as the others, but still good. A lot of adult humor, just like before. Thank goodness the kids are still to young to pick up on the innuendos, but I thought some of them were hysterical.

Becky - I hope the meds work for you. Try to get some rest. I'm sure the stress doesn't help, either.

I'm glad to hear your review. We want to see that but might wait for a rental, since we have to see Pirates this week and Kyle wants to see Spiderman 3 "for his birthday"

Tomorrow unofficially starts my summer vacation. No preschool, no ballet. So all I have to do is get Nicholas on the bus. No running around! I do, however, need to mow the grass and go to the grocery store. I also told Alyssa we might go to the school and have lunch with Nicholas, so she can see what she will be doing in a few months.

Have fun! I think lunch sounds like a great idea!

Our weekend...

Sounds like fun... I'm glad the weather held up for you! I hope you are feeling better soon! :wizard:

I just ordered The Little Mermaid on Broadway tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are for Katie & Sophie's birthday present...I got 6th row in November!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I am so excited! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I could NOT be more jealous right now! :rolleyes1 :teeth:

We're off to the movies, in the middle of the afternoon! :) We NEVER get to go, but Kyle was off today and I got out of work a bit early to spend some time with him! I wish we were seeing something different, but I promised him we'd see Spiderman 3 when it came out. We've seen the last 2, why not?

Have a wonderful evening!

They think it might be due to low iron. My doctor keeps upping my iron intake, and I have noticed that the spells are fewer and farther between. I have an appointment with my doctor after we get back from DL, so I'll have them check my iron again.

I do notice that the spells come when I am stressed out. Alan being out of town definitely qualifies as stress on me. I've been journaling these spells, and stress seems to be the biggest factor.

Did I mention that it's our 17th anniversary on Saturday? Alan preordered tickets for Pirates 3 for Saturday afternoon!!! What a thoughtful husband to give my eye candy on our anniversary!!!!!

Have a great day Jennifer!

How fun!! I would love to see that.

I just heard of something that one of our movie theaters is starting this summer: Movies for Mom's. One morning a week (this will be year round), in one of the 17 theaters in the complex, a movie will be shown where mom's can bring their babies. It will be a discounted "second run" showing of a "chick flick", and they are saying that strollers, playpens, nursing mothers, etc., will all be welcome. Each mother will be given a head set to wear so they can hear the movie, and kids will be allowed to play, etc. If I had little kids, I might be tempted to do this. I think it's a great idea!
We have 2 theaters that do something like that but it is for the kids, not moms. One theater is Monday and the other is Tuesday. The movies are free too! Just have to buy popcorn and drink.

Wish we had something like this!

No free movies around here  But we do have the drive-in & I don't mind paying to watch 2 movies for the price of one.

Anyway, I'm much better today! I spent the morning finishing up the cookies and cupcakes for the carnival this afternoon. The twins and I went back to the Disney outlet store where we found a couple of hats for them for our DL trip, I managed to sneak some Tinkerbell surprises into the basket when they weren't looking, so I feel good about that!

I can't believe how quickly the trip is coming up! I keep looking at my list, and it doesn't seem to be getting any shorter! At least I made an appointment with our mechanic to get our car looked at this weekend. That will be a huge relief on my mind! I just want to make sure it's running perfectly before we drive that far!
I'm glad you are feeling better today, and that Katie was there to help out! Isn't it amazing how our kids can step up to the plate when needed?
