Just in case i havent said it lately..

I GO TO DISNEY TOMORROW!!

WOO HOO! You are going to have the best time! Is your friend super excited, too? :woohoo:

i talked with my attendant today and she said that her friend's brother is out of a coma. they took the tumor out that was on the back of the brain but it was also intertwined into the brain so they couldnt get all of it. he is having trouble speaking and so he is getting frustrated and the screams at the top of his lungs. he is also having trouble keeping food down. now they are going to do radiation and chemo and see if it helps if not there is nothing they can do. doctors said he has probably had it since birth because of how intertwined in the brain it is.

Continued prayers for your attendant's friend's brother. I'm sure the family feels so helpless, but at least there is hope with further treatment. :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Cool I got Jeff the first 2 for Christmas. I can get this for him for father's day

Sounds like a perfect gift! :goodvibes

I have 3 deer laying in my back yard. :goodvibes
I can't take a picture though cause the camera is still in the car from my birthday party. :sad2:

How peaceful!

Just FYI, Karen - they have this album available for dowload on iTunes (or they did the last time I checked). Just another option! :goodvibes

I agree with you guys on the gift situation, but just wanted to see if anyone had a different take than me. I agree, Tammi - I was a little blown away that she would even expect something like that, being that I hadn't offered any such assistance (unless my mother did without my knowing, and hopefully she knows better!). But, this woman has a lot of $$ and is used to getting her own way in things, so I'm not terribly surprised by the assumption or request. However, I think she'll have to find someone else to fetch and carry!

I did out of curiosity check to see what Sarah of Memories by Sarah charges for gift baskets. From her website, it looks like she charges $28 per basket (unless you're buying multiple baskets for one delivery, and then each additional basket is a smaller additional fee) on top of the costs of the things she puts in the basket. Maybe telling her I would be charging $30 for my time per gift would be enough of a detriment! ;)

She is pretty excited..shes coming here at 5am! For some reason, im not excited about it..i dont know if it just doesnt seem real or what--im sure ill be really excited tomorrow!

Thanks! Did you notice all the smoke in the Segway photo?

Our instructor was Lamonte or Lamar-he's been doing it since the begining-been with WDW for 20 years. He was great-he's on the postcard they gave us at the end of the tour with the pin. Our tour guide was Janet. She was great. She was the one who was nice and calm with me when I started to get nervous. I couldn't have continued without her. I am really impressed that Kate was able to do it with her knee.
I did notice the smoke. We actually had a smokey day when we were at AK on 4/29. That smoke had come all the way from Georgia.

I can only remember one of our guides. His name was Phil. Maybe Kristine or Kate could tell you the other, if they are out here lurking. :)

Have a wonderful time on your trip, Jen!!!

I know I missed Channon, but I hope she has a wonderful trip!

Leslie is still feverish and throwing up, poor thing. It's really hard on Mary, too. Mary is so dependant on Leslie, that when she's not around, Mary just doesn't know what to do.

Poor Becky has a broken heart. Her boyfriend has told her he isn't sure he is in love with her. He says he loves her and wants to go out with her and stay friends but doesn't think he wants to be exclusive. This is a really nice young man and I feel for her. I hope that they can remain friends because he is good for her.

Oh, poor Becky (and poor mom)! It sounds like both she and the boyfriend have very level heads on their shoulders.... I hope this is as pain-free as it can be, for everyone involved

Well, glad to hear the adjustment to RL hasn't been too bad. :goodvibes I'd love to hear your thoughts on BCV, and why you prefer SSR. (We would likely too, but I always love hearing opinions! :thumbsup2 )

I planned on addressing this when I quoted it, but am now out of time! :rotfl: I will definitely get to it in my trip report, and when I do I will post here or PM you as well! :)

Opinion needed (sorry for the long post below)...

My mom has a good friend that is planning to take her grandchildren (boy, 4, and girl, 2.5, at the time), daughter, and son-in-law to WDW next October. She has been before (as has her daughter), but it's been probably at least 10 years since they were there last. She has asked (via my mom) for me to assist her with some planning, which I'm more than happy to do - she has even offered to pay me for my advice (but nothing has been worked out).

So, she e-mails my mom last night with the dates they're thinking of traveling and mentions in there about sending gifts to her grandkids in advance of the trip. (I've been doing this for the entire year prior to our big family trip in December for my 5 nieces/nephew, which I'm sure my mom has told her about.) The way she phrases it, I think she's just asking my mom if she thinks starting a year out is too early, but come to find out, my mom's friend is actually wanting to know if I will purchase, package, and mail these gifts to her grandkids for her. :scared1:

I did send off an e-mail to my mom that I wasn't aware that this was what she's thinking, that I'd have to think about if I wanted to do it and if it's something I could even handle, and if I did do it, I would definitely charge her (and not just for the gifts, supplies, and postage).

So, what would you guys do? If I did do it, what should I charge beyond the costs of the gifts and shipping? (I'm trying to think what I paid for gift baskets from people like Feralpeg - and that's just a one time gift - this would be multiple times!)

I agree with everyone else here ... that is a bit much! I think you definitely need to say no!

Meant to post this earlier - another Imagineering Field Guide is out - this time, for the Animal Kingdom!

YES! I knew about the others well in advance, I'm surprised this one came out of nowhere. Thanks for posting!

We had Lamonte as well! He was cool! :thumbsup2

i dont have itunes or an ipod though

I've had an iPod ever since I've had iTunes, but I think you can download and use iTunes without actually owning an iPod. You would just listen to the music on your computer, or burn the music to a CD to listen to elsewhere.

It sounds like Jenn buying you the CD if she sees it might be less hassle, but this would be a good option if she doesn't happen upon it.

Wow! I was surprised when the smoke traveled from other parts of Florida!

Jen -- I realize now that my previous multi-quote was a little off.... have a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

Lindsay I myself would not do this. It really sounds like it could turn into a big headache. You have enough going on with your job & planning your own family trip.

Good luck with your decision :wizard:

:rotfl:

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

"Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday."

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.

The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral."

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"

(you're gonna love this)

The bank manager looks back at her and says...

"It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan, His old man's a Rolling Stone."

(You're singing it, aren't you? Yeah, I know you are........)

Never take life too seriously! Come on now, you grinned, I know you did!!!
Have a lovely day.

HEEE HEEE!!!!!

Steps to Live a Happy Life

> ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
> TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
> THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
> FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it.
> FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
> SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
> SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.
> EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
> TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
> ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
> TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
> THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"
> FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
> FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
> SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson
> SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's:
> Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.
> EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
> NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
> TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
> TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart. Thank you for being my friend.

Hope Leslie feels better soon :wizard:
