We just made the 1st payment on the house. I did call to tell our landlord(well he's not anymore, but he is who we are buying from)about what happened & he is getting us another one! I did not ask, he just offered, so I was very happy.

We have Ins., but the deductible cost more the water heater would & as far as smoke damage it is contained to the basement(it is not much though), thank goodness!

That is great news! I'm glad you are all safe with little damage and that the landlord will replace it.

Thanks everyone for your dress opinions..My favorite is dress 1 ( i think) and my family likes dress 2...

I dont know if they are too formal for graduation..my hips are huge so i was trying to hide that haah

I love dress 1 and 2. I think with your skin color (about the same as mine) I would go with dress 2, but I'm sure you will look beautiful in either!

Marci - did the boys get their games in?

They did -- just barely! Andrew's soccer team was losing 3 - 0 when we had to pull him out for his baseball game. The team they played are a team that cheats -- really -- they pull anyone on to their team they want. I swear some of those kids were shaving, although they were supposed to be 12 and under. Andrew was playing well, so he was happy. Jake's team lost 3 -1, with his being the only goal. He had fun and played well. Andrew's baseball team just barely got their game in. It sprinkled just a bit, and we had lightening, but it was far enough away and moved to the north of us. His team lost, and he just played so-so. He just can't seem to get any confidence in his hitting.

We are currently under a flash flood warning until tomorrow morning. Ugh! They said yesterday on the news that this will be a banner summer for mosquitos, because of all the rain, and that allergy sufferers are in for a worse time than usual. Guess whose biggest reaction to an allergen is to mold/fungus, prevalent when it rains a lot? Yep, me.

Oh well, as Paula likes to say, life is good, but I'll be glad when Monday gets here and we get through the weekend.

Elizabeth -- I hope you get your kitty today. Great name!

AnneMarie -- the pictures of Daniel and your family are wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

Tammi -- I'm really enjoying your TR. Alyssa looked like a true princess on her birthday and I loved the pics of Nicholas as well.

Have a great day, DDA.

Thanks, Marci. I'm glad your boys were happy with their games. I think it does so much for their confidence when they know they did their best, whether or not they win or lose.

Some of these are awesome! Gaston marrying Belle, Tink capturing Hook, Sorcerer Donald and the "Little Mouse"...those are great!

I use something called Sonic. It seems simple to me, but it was the only one installed on my PC. So I really didn't have a choice. :confused3

Janet~ I am so happy to hear that everyone is safe and that your house is still standing. Thanks for the reminder.

Elizabeth~ What a situation with your poor :cat: I hope she is home with you all soon. :scared1: What a schedule for your DH, but at least Toad is gone.

Tammi~ Sorry you are having to deal with the stress of XH2B. Loving the trip report so far.

Deb~ Here's some :wizard: that Nick feels better soon!!

Marci~ :wizard: that the boys can get their games in. Seems like you'll be playing into July.

Jen~ Hope the field trip was a great success.

Becky~ Good to see you! Thanks for the heads up on the fork/spoon set. We will have to check the Disney Store.

Tom~ Good luck with the swing set set up! Good to see you around too!

Tia~ Sounds like you'll stay busy right up til you leave.

Glynis~ A picnic sounds like a lovely idea for the weekend. Thanks for the update on Clare.

Lindsay~ Try not to work too hard know that it's getting busy.

Heidi~ Did you decide how to spend all your bday money?

 and :wizard: to all that I missed.

Molly is not feeling herself today, she woke up with a fever so I am suspecting a sinus infection as she has been dealing with her allergies. If she isn't better tomorrow then we'll be headed to the dr.s. She is thankfully napping right now. I've spent the past hour or so out in our front flower beds digging up some old shrubs and planting the new flowers I got last night.

Oh, and I'm not sure if I mentioned this last week or not, forgive me if I did. Emma's teacher selected her to be part of her school's Talent Development Program for her reading. Apparently it is the precursor to the Gifted and Talented Program. She and 4 other kids from 1st grade meet with the director once or twice a week and discuss a specially selected book that is supposed to challenge and promote higher level thinking. Eric and I are so proud of her! Now only if I could get her to love doing her homework!

I am still quite a few pages back so I am just going to ditto Robyn!!

and say poor Molly and yeah!! for Emma!!

Congrats, Terry! Sounds like a fun week coming up. We LOVE Strasburg Railroad! Bob and I need to come up there and do it again sometime.

Please help Stephanie find her smilies... :sad2:

Elin,

Now for the Strasburg Railroad, there are different cars you can ride in and some of them they serve food and one even wine :goodvibes
Just let us know!!! Three times a year even Thomas the Train comes and my one DGS just loves Thomas.

Yes, this will be a very sad time. Our coworker has worked here for over 23 years. Her mother is 93 and has lived a very full life but is just really failing fast. They are the ones that went to WDW last October and she had such a good time.
I know we will find the smilies again.

163 days people 163 days!!!!

Okay, I'm about 100 pages behind now. I'm getting ready to have the most stress filled 2 weeks of my career. My co-worker's mother is failing. I don't think she's going to make it to Mother's Day. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I have invoices to get ready, financial statements to do, bank recs to complete and all of her work too. I'm going to need another vacation.

Plus, I've got to start planning my godchild's first trip to Disney World in December and we don't even have the rooms reserved yet.

I'm going to have to depend on Terry to keep me up to date.

The computers at my job are acting all wonky and I have to meet the tech early in the morning.

I haven't even unpacked my suitcase.

I am exhausted, mentally and physically. I can't even figure out what smilies to use.

Know that I'm thinking of you. Hugs to all who need.:grouphug:

Oh Stephanie, I am sorry that RL has come crashing down, and so soon after visiting your happy place. Here's a lot of   :wizard: :wizard: that the next couple of weeks will go better than you're anticipating.

162 days, people, 162 days! You can do it! :thumbsup2

Wow was I a chattie Cathy:lmao:

Yes Stephanie will be very busy. :surfweb:
I have my orders to keep her up to date on what is happening.

I told her I cannot wait till October.

But to get me thru the summer with Camp Registrations, helping to sell discount park tickets and then in late July starting all over with Before and After School care programs and billing----

In 8 days my sister is coming to visit

We will be going down to Cape May for two days and then coming back home here she will be able to see her grand-nephews. This will happen next Thursday. We will also go Strasburg Railroad with Stephanie. Then to our favorite Sushi place.

Congrats on 2,700, Terry! I hope you have a great visit with your sister, and that things go well for you at work, too. :goodvibes

So today we are in DOUBLE DIGITS!

99 days 'til Disney!!!

:dance3:

YIPPEE SKIPPEE! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Glad to hear you guys were able to get some games in, Marci. This weather is just wild. I've been thinking it will make for an interesting summer, but hadn't even thought of the mosquito factor. Now I'm really looking forward to that with all the outdoor events we have. I'm so sorry to hear that your allergies will suffer, too.

We ended up having a huge storm up my way last night - at one point, the rain was coming down sideways, and the winds had to be up to about 60 mph. We had a lightning bolt that both Jonathan and I swear almost came through the window, so we got in our closet for a bit. I noticed this morning that one of our neighbors had parts of their fence come down overnight.

Hi, Theresa - are you guys getting settled in?

Have a great hump day, DDA! :goodvibes

Well, I left a message for the foster but I haven't heard back from her, so I have no idea if I will be able to get the kitty or if I will have to send DH to get her. I have to pick up Brother at 12:30.

I got a call from a mom about a job that sounds really good IF their current nanny leaves. They have had the same lady for 6 years, but she (the nanny) is having her 4th child and wants to cut back her hours. I can not even imagine having 4 kids and still trying to be a nanny. But that's just me. So I sent the mom my resume and she is going to chat with her current nanny and see what conclusion they come to. The mom said she is going to tell the nanny that she can only stay if she agrees to keep working the same hours. So we'll see. The family has 3 little ones. 2 are the same ages as Brother & Sister, and they also have a baby. Sounds good, but I worry about going into a job where the current nanny doesn't want to leave. She could change her mind 15 times between now and the time her baby is born, and I need to know with 100% certainty what the situation is.

DH called and said his supervisor has "a proposal" for him. It won't be good, I bet! DH thinks they are going to add another store to his route. Since they closed one he has just had 2 stores for the past 6 weeks or so. Can't wait to hear what sort of "proposal" it is!

The railroad sounds very cool!
Hugs to your co-worker, and to you and Stephanie as you help her through this!

Marci - Glad the boys were able to get some games in! I am SO TIRED of all the RAIN!

Lindsay - We didn't get hammered with storms last night, but I did hear some rumbling. Glad you guys are safe and didn't have any property damage!

Wow! I just got another call from a mom. This one is expecting her first baby Sept. 4. Can we all say "dream job"? The problem is that she doesn't need a nanny to start until October, which would mean a month of unemployment for me.:scared1: She did say that if we determine that it would be the perfect fit then they might consider keeping me on retainer for the first month. I sent her my resume, so now I am waiting to hear back from 2 families.

This all came about because of a mom I know from Little Gym. Her DD was in a class with Brother awhile back, and now we bump into each other ALL the time around town. I told her my job is ending and she sent out an e-mail for me, which is now generating calls. If I end up getting a job because of her I will definitely owe her a nice lunch!:)

WTG!! Little Gym mom!!!

I had the longest migraine I've ever had Monday and Tuesday...even after Imitrex it was 36 hours plus.:headache:

So I took a sick day from work yesterday and was actually sick. We spent our first night in the house last night:banana:

Jim and the girls have been so good about packing and schlepping stuff for me...we aren't going to get much more over to our house tonight....it's somebody's 40th birthday today. :woohoo: Everybody agrees that Grandma has become freaky nice.....I just remind them that it is one of her personalities....we just don't see it very often.

Yay for sleeping in your own house! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Happy Birthday to Jim! :bday:

One step up, 2 steps back.:guilty:

The foster just called to tell me 2 of the other kitties she was fostering died yesterday. Our kitty now has to be in quarantine because she may be infected with whatever killed the other 2. The 2 that died were part of a litter of 5. 4 of them were in one cage, and the 5th one was in a cage with our kitty on Saturday.:sad1: Good thoughts for our kitty and the remaining littermates, please!

DH is not at all pleased with this, and neither am I. If this virus is something that the cats can not be vaccinated for then we can't risk exposing Aurora. DH said he is ready to tell them to just forget it - we'll go find a kitty somewhere else!:sad2:
