I'm trying to read along although I don't have time to post much. I've turned over a new leaf and I'm going to get my house in shape if it kills me. That means a lot less computer time for me. So it finally sunk in that THIS is teacher appreciation week. I saw a neat idea on the budget board yesterday and I think I'll add a bit to it. The concept was to give basic items such as candy with a note attached to each.

Smarties for Sharing your Brilliance with us
Snickers for your sense of humor
Extra (gum) for all the Extra things you do
Lifesavers for keep us safe
100 Grand bar because your worth it
Carefree (gum) You deserve a carefree weekend
Sunflower seeds for planting the seed of knowledge within us
Banana because sometimes we drive you bananas
Orange you glad I appreciate you
hugs and kisses because you deserve them
brownies because I can use all the brownie points that I can get

You get the idea. Can anyone think of any obvious ones that I'm missing? I'll run out while Colby is at school tomorrow and get the items as I've been called into work tonight. I'll have to make the tags when I get home tonight.
I love it. I'm going to use it too!

Ok, here are the shirts. Feel free to pass this post, if you want. There are a lot of shirts! I didn't post all of them, since a lot of them are the same design, just different names.
They look great Glynis!

I haven't seen this design. It's really pretty.

I haven't seen this design. It's really pretty.

I just happened upon it on a thread called Amy's Designs or something like that. She had done it for WDW, and then Paula asked if she could do one for DL, and I loved it when I saw it! I think it turned out really cute!

I like it because it is quick and easy. Nick likes the humorous side of it :rotfl:

I think it's a great idea, and I've filed it away for next year. This year, I bought small flowerpots for the teachers, the kids decorated them with paint, and then we put in a packet of forget-me-nots with a picture of the kids, and a handwritten thank you note.

I think the kids will really like your idea better!

Love it Deb! I still need to get Riley's teacher something.

I'm so glad that you all are settling in, and that even Grandma is coming around. :yay:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am sorry you made me giggle....this really is a personality of hers...she uses one a decade, sometimes a little shorter, sometimes a little longer. This one is one we only see for a couple of weeks at a time. I expect the nasty one back at any time.

I thank you all for the good wishes!!

Glynis these look wonderful! Did you cut around the designs? Very professional looking :thumbsup2

We've done things like you've stated for our teachers....I am always the one to come up with the "pithy" tags.

I've gotta go with Abi to get something for Miss Hickey....the woman has been a godsend for us this year.

I've been meaning to post this for a few days, but I keep forgetting. You may already know it, but I didn't. If you have the dining plan, they are now keeping track of the number of children's table service meals. So if you were planning on paying OOP for the kids and then using their TS credits as adults, you can't. This doesn't apply to the CS meals though.

Yup, I did! I used the dark transfer paper, even though they are all on white shirts. I heard all of you say they held up better than the light transfer sheets, so I thought I'd give it a try. Luckily, most of the design had clear edges so it was easy to trim around them.

Wow you have patience! Great job!

Good for you, Anne Marie! Just from the one picture you've posted, you're looking great.

I really need to start something myself - I need to eat healthier and start exercising again. I have a little over 6 mos. until the cruise, but am worried about my summer schedule and if it's possible. We'll see!
Thanks, I have seen your pictures & you are gorgeous.

163 days people 163 days!!!!

Okay, I'm about 100 pages behind now. I'm getting ready to have the most stress filled 2 weeks of my career.
Hang in there Stephanie!!!

Wow was I a chattie Cathy:lmao:
Congrats!:dance3:

For those of you who donated to June's fund for Bert's Big Adventure, I have some sad news. One of the children who went on the trip in Jan 2007, James Bell, died this past Saturday, May 5, of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Here a link with pictures from the trip. Thank you all for donating and giving this child and his family one last fun weekend at WDW. God bless you.

Hello everyone I thought I would just pop in to say hi and let everyone know how we're doing. I miss being able to chat but things with Zack and school has been hectic. Throw a few ER visits in and what a spring. Effie was climbing in the kitchen and fell and cracked the back of his head so needed stitches. But we are doing well.
Zack is now on some medication and I feel like we're actually making progress.:thumbsup2 He has autism spectral disorder and PDD-NOS and is being evaluated by a occupational therapist for sensory integration disorder.
The kids have 1 month of school left and I have a ton of volunteer things to wrap up. I hope everyone is doing well and maybe I'll have some free time when school gets out to DIS.:) I still have to plan our family's GG for this Dec. :santa: ADR's have to be made in June and I'm nowhere near figuring out what restaurants every family can agree on.
Well I'm off to gather up things for teacher appreciation week. Thank you to everyone who prayed for Zack this year as things are starting to go somewhere and I feel prayer had something to do with it. Thanks and I hope everyone has a great May. :goodvibes
Christi

So you good to read you, Christi! It sounds like things are improving there, if still crazy. Our prayers continue that Zack gets the help and support he needs (and you too!).
