Thanks, Elizabeth! I wish I had something definitive to say about your pins, but.... I looked at a bunch of my pins that I purchased only at WDW and the marks on the backs are sometimes different. How can you tell they are fakes?

I would think if a CM accepts the pin then it would be OK to trade them with CMs. We are not pin traders, so maybe that is not an acceptable practice? I would also think it would then be up to WDW to determine if the pins are legitimate.

We trade purely for pins that we like, we don't care about ultimate value so I guess we'd never know a scrapper from a legit pin

So did you design the 8x8 pages with clipart for the character to sign? I'm assuming then the opposite page will be a picture of the characters with the kids or you?

I never have actually gotten the characters to sign my pages. I am one of those people that tend to go overboard. Once I start it, I will have to do it the same way until the book is filled. I've never made the final decision on what size book. The problem of being a perfectionist. Many things never get started. I was hoping to come up with an idea that had room for me to change my mind over the years but still seem seamless.

Yes, the left hand page will have photos of us with the character and the right hand page will be the page that I created using clipart. I did make 8x8 pages. I can add pages as new characters evolve over the years. I made sure not to date the pages that way it won't matter what year we get the pages signed.

I read some of the pages but I doubt I'll ever be able to read them all to truly catch up.

I'm off to try to get some things done today. Chuck & I aren't talking. That isn't good when there is so much to get done and some of it requires two people. Oh well. We'll work it out at some point today I'm sure.

I'm in a bad mood today. I woke up at 5 AM throwing up I went back to bed until 10 AM and really felt ok other than my left arm aching. Now I've got the shakes. I guess it's a good thing that I'm not working today. We are trying to get our garage cleaned this afternoon. It was full of returnable bottles and cans and cardboard that needs to be taken to the recycling center. The kids want to dig out there bikes and summer stuff so we must make room

Riley played the best I have seen him play today! I am so proud of him His whole team did great & they won 22 - 13 Not to bad for the 1st game!

Now we just have Garrett's game tonight at 7!

Riley played the best I have seen him play today! I am so proud of him His whole team did great & they won 22 - 13 Not to bad for the 1st game!

Now we just have Garrett's game tonight at 7!

That's terrific!! I think DS is wishing he would've signed up for baseball. He has DH outside every day catching and throwing, and they go to the batting cages on the weekends.

Janet - DH said the same thing about the sty being from stress.

Vicki - Good luck getting things accomplished and working out your issues with Chuck! DH and I frequently aren't speaking to each other, but it usually doesn't last very long!

Elin - The pins causing all the problems are the darn Cast Lanyard ones. Because you can not purchase them in the parks (they have to be collected through trading with CMs) there is a huge market for fakes. On the PinPics website there is a description of each pin, plus what the pin should say on the back. For example, if it is a 2005 Cast Lanyard pin that's what it will say on the back. But the fake ones might say 2006, or they say "Cast Lanyard" instead of "Hidden Mickey" or they say D SNEY. I have 2 that the "I" in Disney is missing. They come from the same factories as the "real" pins, but the quality, coloring, or back stamp info is wrong. If we never would have started looking at them with a magnifying glass we never would have known there was a problem! Disney has made the problem worse by "re-releasing" pins from a few years ago with a "new" back stamp. The counterfeiters mix the info from the 2 releases together and come up with a fake back stamp that looks perfectly real.

I agree that when we trade we will choose pins with the intention of keeping them. But choosing a "fake" pin in exchange for a real one will make me mad. DH says he is going to look strictly for rack pins and steer clear of Cast Lanyard pins, but I bet he won't. And I won't be able to resist checking them for authenticity when we get home. We won't ever resell the pins, so the intrinsic "value" doesn't matter to me. But if I am going to collect a set of 5 designs I want them to all be "real", not 3 real and 2 fake. It would just bother me. I am kind of rigid that way.

We've had a busy day. The garage is cleaned though I still need to return a truckload of cans and bottles. I'll get to it this week. I'm feeling better and I've already fed the family dinner. I also got a few shirts made. I haven't bought any blank shirts for myself yet, that's on my to do list. Here are pictures of the finished outfits.

I think they came out pretty well. I just wish the Navy was a bit darker on Nick's shirt. It looked almost black on the screen, but didn't print that dark It still looks good though.

The shower was wonderful! I'm slowly but surely uploading some pictures to Photobucket for ya'll. Here's a start - this will go in the thank you cards I'm going to send the cousins for helping out with decorating, cooking, just about everything!
