Theresa I hope that your accident was just that. You need a strong knee for our um I mean your Disney vacation. I hope you are better soon.

Deb

Today is DH's friend's birthday. (His friend who was killed last summer.) DH stopped by to see his friend's parents on his way home from work today. I am sure it was a very difficult day for them.:guilty:

While I was thinking about his friend I realized that DH is turning 40 this year! Wow! When did he get so old?:rotfl2: So now I will have to ponder what to do for his birthday. WDW is not a workable proposal, so I'll have to think of something else. His birthday is in October.

Well, Disneyland in October is very pleasant, and usually quite vacant! Just a thought.....

Ok, here is my princess with her prince.

Here's a closer look at her hair.

Absolutely beautiful!!! Love the dress, love the hair, love everything!

:woohoo: Let me know how you like it. I have just barely started scratching the surface of hotels around Disneyland. Because we have 5, we may be better off with one room at DL Hotel than two rooms at some of the other places. I just know that Grand Californian will be out of our price range. Do you know if HJ's sleep 4 or 5?

Beth

There are mini suites at the Best Western Park Place Inn that sleep 5 or 6. It's technically, the closest hotel to the parks. Not including the Grand Californian, of course.

Robyn - The cake looked completely professional! You did an incredible job! And the girls both looked so happy! I love birthdays! Did they break the pinata themselves? Every party we have been to with a pinata the thing has been made of something akin to concrete and the kids have to wait for one of the dads to beat a hole in it! :lmao:

And that is exactly why we only do pull string pinatas anymore!

That's great information, Glynis. Because this is going to be such a long trip, I'm trying to keep to a budget. Are there perks for staying at one of the Disney hotels that make it worth the extra cost? We're basically looking for clean, safe, and close. I bought Birnbaum's Disneyland and the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland, but I haven't really read them thoroughly yet.

That's just like me! Though even as the trip gets close, I'll start to think "in X days it will all be over."

I can't wait to hear all about your trip! But I don't want it to come (or be over) too fast. Enjoy the anticipation!

i am the same way--i arleady thought this time next month ill be coming home from disney

That's what I was thinking, too. Of course, my dd is still really sensitive about things like ghosts, so she may not be comfortable staying there. I'm not even sure we are going to Long Beach. We are definitely going to see the Pacific from some point along the coast, though. I haven't even planned out a route yet. First I'm trying to find out what my family would put on the priority list along the way.

There are several nice beaches within a short drive from Disneyland. We always do one morning or evening at the beach. Wouldn't be a trip to CA without it!

Well, since I've never stayed onsite, it would be hard for me to say. For our family, a hotel is simply a place to sleep. We don't spend much time there, at all!

We've stayed at the PPI and at the Park Vue (right next door to the PPI). We like them both! Park Vue is not as "upscale" as PPI or others, but we've been happy with it. They have a nice continental breakfast and it's situated right next to an IHOP. Those are great perks for us. The IHOP usually does 1 kid's meal free with an adult's meal. It's perfect for us! We like the closeness of both of the above hotel's because you can literally walk to the entrance to either DCA or DL within 5 minutes of leaving your room. Nice!!!

Whew! All caught up!

Somehow I pinched a nerve in my back yesterday, and spent the majority of the day flat on my back! What pain!!! Today was a little better, but it still hurts.

Sound like everyone had great weekends. It was rainy here most of the weekend, so we were all a bit gloomy. It is supposed to get better throughout the week, so I'm looking forward to a bit of sunshine!

Beth the flowers are beautiful & the colors are so vibrant!

Beautiful flowers! My daffodils haven't bloomed yet, but I took a few other photos this weekend in our glorious weather!

Glynis and Theresa - I hope your injuries heal quickly! Oh and Theresa, any news on the house.

I finally got the yard completely finished, got my dad's shirt made, got to Walmart for a few odds and ends, and printed out my packing list. Now it's off to a soccer game, home for dinner and baths, then I get to crash. I'll be on later tonight.

Hi Chanon, hope you had a good time!

Hi everyone! I hope ya'll had a good weekend!
I'm off from work today - slept in until 8am if you call that sleeping in...now we get to go to Home Depot - grass seed, rent a nail gun, buy some wood to redo the trim around the porch...just what I want to do! Geeze!
Can someone PM me if there is something I must know? (I'm back on 7769...)

It will be here before you know it Deb & then that just means our Oct. trip is that much closer :thumbsup2

Oh sure Rub it in...

:lmao: :goodvibes I hope you have a great trip. I can't wait for ours. Only 89 more days
