So I've been putzing around the house this morning trying to figure out what I'm going to do today since the kids aren't here. Then it dawned on me..........

I NEED TO PACK!!!!!!

Duh! Blond moment.

Get to it, woman! Time's a wastin'!

I have been loving seeing all of the wedding pictures. Everyone lookes so beautiful. Beautiful dresses, lots of bridesmaids, just wonderful.  :cutie: :cutie: :hippie: :hippie: :cheer2: princess: :grouphug:

Becky, do you live in the Lehigh Valley/Allentown area?
And if you do, where is a good bakery? looking for a birthday cake.

Thank you, Heidi

That's neat how they got married on her parents anniversary. :goodvibes
Good for you for listening to your mom. :thumbsup2

I think that it's neat, too! I wanted to get married on the same day, but the timing wasn't right, and I would have had to wait another whole year. Plus, December in the Buffalo area is so unpredictable.

I have a book recommendation, Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner. I'm going to look for her other books, too.

Has anyone ever tried to make there own ice cream cake? I thought I would give it a try for my DD, I just figure I'll have to ice it quickly, I thought maybe I should freeze the cake before I ice it?

my mom made icecream cakes when we were little

Well, here goes. my wedding pictures.

Because my SF was transferred to Key West right after my graduation, I really did not know a lot of people. So it was a stroke of luck that I met Sissy who was my maid of honor. She had graduated the year before me back in San Diego and moved to Key West. DH's brother was his best man.
Both our immediate families were present plus my favorite uncle. Also my GF on my mother's side and his wife. Otherwise, the other guests were all co-workers of SF and a few neighbors. That is the hard part of being military and moving all the time.

Right after the wedding we drove up to Pensacola, Fla to get his next duty station orders and then drove up to Annville, Pa where his family lives. His parents planned a second reception for us so all of the family and friends could come and celebrate. I wore a simple blue satin dress and could not find a picture to show. Then off to Groton, Conn.

Because DH had to get to Groton two months sooner than we orginally planned, I did not have time to see if I could find a dress or even try to make one. (small town people where he grew up were counting the months when we changed our date---that was the longest pregnancy ever!!! I had our first two years later) :rotfl:
By another stroke of luck, one of the neighbors still had her wedding dress and it fit perfectly. I managed to have a dress that fit Sissy so we used that for her. DH was so great, he agreed to wear a jacket instead of his enlisted whites. The way my mother and sf were acting, you would have thought it was costing thousands of dollars instead of just $1,000 for everything.

All these weddings are making me hungry for CAKE!:rotfl:

Terry - Love your pics! Thanks for posting them!

I need to go take a shower and get ready to babysit. I have only sat for this family one other time, so the kids don't know me very well. They see me at school (the little girl is in Brother's class) but it has been awhile since I have been to their house. Hopefully they won't cry when Mom & Dad leave!

I told DS I have decided to name my new car The Black Pearl.pirate: It is more charcoal gray, but black pearls aren't really black, now are they? I thought it was good - it ties in with my theme of becoming a pirate.

Wow! I just learned something new. This is so cool. When you quote someone, there is an arrow to the right of their name in the quote. If you click that, it will take you back to where they posted this. Then if they quoted someone, you can go back to that post. So cool!!!!! You may all know this already but I thought I'd share because figure maybe there are others like me that didn't know it. This is going to be so helpful to me!!!!

Nope but I will be heading off shortly...it is almost midnight!!

Jim and I had a date night tonight...went and saw Stomp the Yard...predictable but good.

Than we went to Red Lobster....shared a meal and appetizer and still came out of there stuffed!! We had 6 hours of just us together....I think that might be a record!!:rotfl:

I had Red Lobster last night too. I took one of my staff out to dinner because it had been such a rough week. I had shrimp linguini and coconut shrimp. Mmmmm. It was delicious. I could only eat half so I brought the other half home for a meal this week.

Hi :goodvibes

Glynis, loved every word of your trip report. I know you probably said it in the first one, but where was the house you were staying at? Sounds wonderful!

I'm way back around 6404. I'm getting ready to go to see Baby K for his first birthday :cake: party: No greetings please, as I will NEVER show my son this thread.

Yesterday was Kevin's 70th birthday. :cake: party:

I'M IN DOUBLE DIGITS!!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

TTYL:love:

Bummer! I'm sorry I missed Kevin's birthday. I'll have to send her a belated birthday card. Chuck & I really enjoyed our dinner with the two of you. I know I've said that before but it kind of shocked me. Not that I didn't think he would be ok with it. I just didn't expect to enjoy himself so much that he still talks about it.
