okay ladies I am off to bed. I work tomorrow. so I will see you tomorrow night.

i am not looking forward to it though. our hospital is a magnet hospital and every year we have to have a review to make sure we keep our status. well they were their today, they are back tomorrow and fri. Joy Joy I work the next 2 days. I hate answering dumb survey questions.

Please say prayers for my FIL, Mel. His last childhood friend died today. There were 4 of them that used to hang out as kids. They would have reunions every year with the 4 guys and their families. They continued for years (even after Chuck & I married). This is going to hit him very hard.

I may end up driving him to Milwaukee for the funeral on Monday. It is a holiday for me. Chuck starts his classes at the college that day and can't really miss that. Chuck's SIL is having hip surgery so his brother can't take Mel. I don't know if Mel will let me take him but I would love to spend the time with him if he'll let me.

Prayers being said. I hope that he will let you drive him on Monday.

Chuck & I are the same way. I'm trying to push myself past my comfort level as I get older but I'm still happiest with regular fare!

Vicki and Deb I am a very picky eater so we will probally never do signature restrauants.

I'm really torn about something at my job also. I worked at another store before Katrina and it was completely flooded and did not reopen for over a year, so I was transferred into the store that I am at. I took the HR position as it was available and the job that I did prior, Office Manager, was already filled by a girl that has had it for several years. The Store Manager that I was working for was also transferred into this store as the one that was there was out on medical and unfortunately had to retire because of it. Here's the delimma, the Store Manager is very unhappy with the Office Manager and wants to move her out and put me in that position. I would be much happier with the position but I don't want it at someone elses expense. Over the past year I have tried several times to work with her and show her how to do things the way he likes them done, she still doesn't get it done. I just feel like a snake in the grass taking the position.

I'm open for any opinions

You have to remind yourself that you have tried to help her so that she does things the way he likes. It isn't like you are trying to get her out of there. If he is unhappy with her, that is her problem not yours. If the position becomes available, you definitely should take it. You are only responsible for yourself.

Good night, Theresa. Thanks for mentioning the Brunswick coupons. I went and signed up on the site and already have my first coupon for a free hour of bowling for up to 4 people. Just pay shoe rental. I think that will be great for Terra's first time and we'll probably take Kassie too.

You have to remind yourself that you have tried to help her so that she does things the way he likes. It isn't like you are trying to get her out of there. I awoke to the radio this morning telling of another soldier that died in Iraq. I heard a last name & where he attended school. I shot right up freaking out, asking dh if he heard the whole name. This soldier that died was 24 year old Daniel Miller Jr. He is the oldest son of a friend that I grew up with. I seen Robin(his mother)at work Friday & we were talking about Daniel. Robin was so proud of her son & what he was doing. I was telling her how strong she is having to deal with a child over there now. We talked for quite awhile & before she left we both promised to have lunch together soon.


I am crying so hard, I can't believe this happened. I know lot's of soldiers have lost their lives over there, but this is the 1st one that I have known. I feel so helpless & my heart is aching so hard for Robin.

Please pray for Robin & her family. She has a very rough road ahead of her. Daniel was the oldest of 5 children, plus 2 stepsiblings.

well im going to try to get to bed at a decent hour...
Tomorrow, my dad, brother, and i will be going to my dad's firehouse and then getting driven to a memorial site--it is where 2 firefighters died 20 years ago, line of duty. I have no clue how long this is going to be or what to expect!

Thank you for sharing this.. I got teary just reading it..i hope he will get the "hero's welcome home." I have been saying prayers for his family since you posted-
