I think I hear my pillows yelling my name!!

I am going to need all the pixie dust for me and my machines that you all can muster to send toward me!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning my east coast friends!!

night Theresa

Thank you all for the prayers for Robin & her family. I spoke with Robin & I will be going to see her tomorrow or Wednesday.

Daniel was to to return home from Iraq this month. The family was waiting for his return to celebrate Christmas. I want to give Robin all the support & love I can. This is really hard, something every parent hopes to never deal with.

I hope I can be strong for her. How do you help someone with the loss of a child? This is just so terribly sad :guilty:

I think the best thing to do is allow her to cry. When she falls to her knees and says why me, just hug her. I would avoid 3 phrases at all costs. 1) you'll be alright soon. 2) snap out of it. 3) pull yourself together. She hasn't BEGUN to grieve. She's still waiting for him to wake up. This is all a very, very bad dream. Meals are usually a hit. Take over a pot of spagetti or a lazagna. Amazing how when you are in that state, you sorta forget how to cook... Don't be insulted if they don't eat, leave the food there, I like to take disposible containers. Hugs are the best...:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thanks, I do feel a little better today. Hope your migraine is gone!
I get one more chance - I'm not allowed to cancel twice. I told DH about the credit report and he gave me THE LOOK. I am really going to have to think hard about that before I reschedule. Like I said before, I get needing to know about a nanny's background, but really, some things go too far.

We didn't love Yachtsman. Our food was fine, not fabulous, and DS's was bad enough that we sent it back and they took it off the bill. We won't go back there. We ate at Concourse that same trip and it was good, but not all that memorable. Unless you spend a TON at a signature restauant you are better off paying OOP. Our bill at Yachtsman was $130 (just DH and me - we paid OOP for DS's ice cream, which was all he ate.) Our bill at Kona was $90 for just DH and me (because we ran out of credits, we paid OOP for DS) so we could have had $180 worth of food eating twice at Kona instead of $130 worth of food eating once at Yachtsman. Oh, and I think the minimum # of nights on DDP is 3 - you might want to check to be sure.

Janet, this is so, so horrible! I am so sorry!

I am sorry to hear about your cousin! When DH's friend was killed last summer I know his mom was comforted by having DS and her other grandkids around - not sure if you were planning to bring the boys.

Good luck! I always thought it would be so easy to talk to DS since I have a background in AIDS/HIV awareness. HA! And apparently the books for boys are a bit more graphic than a 5th grader really needs. I looked at some on the internet but I have yet to purchase one. Great. Something else to worry about!:rolleyes1

Stephanie - I am sorry about the untimely demise of your rug.:guilty: I washed a pillow for the little boy I used to nanny and it looked like a sheep exploded in the washer. ALL of the stuffing came out. And it floated around the house in little tufts for weeks to come. I hope you can find a suitable replacement.

Ah yes, the little tuffs of rug are swirling all around.....:hippie:

Need prayers for Lizzy's friend Yvette's family. She and her parents when to France for Christmas-her Mom's sister is married to a Frenchman and Yvette has 2 cousins there. They spent last Christmas in Massachusetts. They were only there a few days when they got a call that Yvette's Dad's brother and SIL died on Christmas day. They were out on a walk with their DD's 15 & 13 when the dog fell in a river. Mom went after the dog and her DH went after her. The 15 year old ran for help while the 13 year old watch helpless. They didn't find the Mom for 4 days and still haven't found her DH.

Yvette's parents left her in France while they tried to help her uncle's family. They left no will so things were messy. Yvette and her Mom are back in Massachusetts now but her Dad is still in Ohio as they haven't found his brother yet.

Those poor girls!!! They will never be able to celebrate Christmas again.

Gene & I have a will but we need to call the lawyer this week to update it.

That is so tragic....:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

You can order suits from them, and if they don't work you can return them to Sears, but you lose whatever you paid in shipping.
You can order from them and have it shipped to Sears to pick it up there. If you do this, you don't have to pay for shipping. I've done this before.

Good morning!

Where did our spring-like weather go????

We got our booklet from the IRS today. The anticipation makes me giddy! I told DH I am going to sit and read this whole booklet, just to see what it says. It will help pass the time while we wait for our stupid W2's!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You will appreciate this, I think. I had a family cancel out of their lessons last night because it was snowing.....

I think there might have been 5 snowflurries that whisked past my studio window an hour before the class was to have begun...

Virginians and winter weather do not work well..... :rotfl:

Good morning, DDA! Bundle up!

Good Morning DDA,

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Hugs all around this morning, so many illnesses and losses, I certainly hope 2007 improves, it has gotten a rocky start so far.

Good Morning Elin,

Since we never got our heater repaired we're bundling up inside this morning. We decided to wait on the repair and go with someone else, I know for a fact that some of the things the first guy told us were not necessary, so he definitely is out.

Thanks for all the advice on my work situation. I spent most of yesterday helping in the office, inventory is next week and things are a mess. The more I work in there the more I see that she definitely needs to be taken out of the position.

So here's a new twist to add to the situation. I got a phone call from another business while I was working yesterday, they were canvassing the area for someone to fill the HR position in one of the stores here. They offer benefits from day one and are willing to pay more than my current salary. I felt it was inappropriate to discuss a job offer at work on company time so she is supposed to give me a call at home this afternoon. I told DH that I would definitely talk to them and see what they had to offer before I made any kind of decision.

So we'll see :confused3

Thanks Steffy, I was trying to think of a food to take with me & lasagne sounds good. I will be there for her to listen & I am sure cry with her. I can't talk to her on the phone without crying. She just fought & won a battle with breast cancer & she is already saying Why didn't you take me & let my son live. :sad1:

I looked at nmoving it up for the same reason but 8/30 from Ny was the same as 8/31.
So your DH loved RR? How is that for kids? I'd like to fit in GG too but I don't want to character overload.
The kids chicken fingers and fish & chips were really good but they did NOT allow the kids to order appetizers.

Anne Marie - When did they start Magical Beginnings last year? I thought it was pretty late in the month. And I don't think we would qualify since we won't have any preschoolers in our group.
MB last year was awesome!!!! I don't think you need to be a certain age to get in. I really, really hope they do it again. When I wrote to WDW to complain about the problems I had at check in I did mention that MB was indeed magical.

I ran a search on MB's & the dates in 2006 were Aug 13 - Sept. 30.
That's what I was going to say-same dates as free dining.

im listening to dis radio and they are playing christmas music. why?

my dad made me cry tonight.

should i talk to my cousin about the cruise we wanna take even though its like 3-4 years away? i wanna make it as special as my trip was in december and that took 3 years.

one question does any one know the words to the song pizza hut, kentuky fried chicken, mcdonalds? i wanna download teh song.
:grouphug: :grouphug:

:wizard: for your cruise plans!

It wasn't the middle of the night at all! It was 4:50 AM!:rotfl2:

But there is a method to my madness. First, if he doesn't know about the trips then he isn't distracted in the days leading up to it. He has Inattentive ADD, so he doesn't need distractions. Second, if he doesn't know then he can't blab to his friends. That gives me a better shot at getting the days excused when he comes back - our district forbids vacations. They did excuse the 3 days he missed in December, so that worked well for me.

DS got his report card today! All A's and B's for the marking period, all A's and B's EXCEPT math, which was a C, for the semester. The math grade is because he wasn't on medication for the ADD the first marking period, and his math grade was pretty low. He did well the other 2 marking periods, but not well enough to pull his semester average to a B. Still, I am very pleased. I think a trip to WDW is in order!:cool1:
Congrats to DS on good grades!

I'm off to work. I'll probably hit The Disney Store again today. Then I have to pick up Joe's Cars Bday cake on the way home.

Congrats on losing another size!

You ladies are making it REALLY hard for me to ignore the fact that there is a Coldwater Creek store in the mall across the street. My cousin was just telling me they have really nice things...

Elizabeth -- they really do, and they are reasonably priced. I bought their clothes as I was losing weight as they are economical, usually running sales or some kind of coupon (right now, it's buy $100 in clothes, get $25 off) and a lot of their clothes tend to run a little big (has anyone else noticed that?), so I could buy a smaller size. That was very motivating while losing weight.

Good luck with your descion Debbie :wizard:

I received an email this morning that their outlet is 60 - 80% off.
