I heard from the doctor this a.m. My mother is in the ICU and on oxygen and has responded to some stimuli overnight. She cannot be intubated due to her COPD. they have called in a pulmonary specialist to see if there is further deterioration there and also her cardiologist is running an ECG today to determine the state of her congestive heart failure. Her physician told us not to come running from Allentown, Boston and Virginia... but it is so hard to wait and not know.
Their prognosis is not good. If she revives from this "bout" they will send her back to the nursing home with a move to hospice in the future. And they are telling us that we may only have her with us for 6 months or so.
Please keep praying and thinking of us... Your thoughts mean more than I can say.
bethbuchall said:I could use some prayers and pixie dust for my sister-in-law today as well. She found out in August (when she was pregnant with baby #5) that she had a brain tumor. She had a beautiful baby boy in December, and today is the day for the brain surgery. I am 6-7 hours away from them. I have three busy kids here, and I know that I couldn't really do anything there, but it is hard to feel so far away and helpless.

to you and your family. I hope that they are able to completely remedy the problem.
I'll send out a big Happy Birthday to Lynn.PNO4TE said:My sister in PA just called to tell me that our Mom was taken to the hospital late tonight. She is completely unresponsive but the last report was that her vital signs are OK. Not sure what the heck that means. She is 85 years old and not in the best of health. We had to move her from Assisted Care to a nursing home in August and she has not been doing well lately.
I have not seen my Mom since the fall and was planning to go up next weekend. So I am feeling badly now. It is so very hard to live 6 hours away from those you love and have your own family and life that has to be maintained. Anyway... please keep us in your thoughts. Thanks, friends.

Thanks to everyone who has posted or sent me a PM with photos of the designs I made. It is really cool to see them all and your families having a great time at disney!
Now I just hope I can stay caught up because reading hundreds of posts at one time is a bit too much for me!
