OK, OK, but I am ready to redeem myself :earboy2:

I think it is the sweetest thing ever that the 2 of you are here on the site, working your tails off to plan these trips. My DH loves Disney as much as I do, but would never in a million years put all this time into planning a trip.

I COMPLETELY agree! ::yes::

I purchased our airfare about 7 months ago. I got it for 176 r/t (Dayton,OH to Orlando) at that time, now for same flight its around 500. I am glad I got it when I did.

Hey, I just noticed you're from Ohio! There are several of us here.... but you probably already knew that, since you were attentive enough to know about the Belle Moments. I'm just not that observant! :goodvibes

Good luck! I sure remember the start of my student teaching! The first morning, I was at home, in tears, begging DH not to make me go! He had to ditch his classes to take me and sit in the car all day long to make sure I didn't bolt and run! :rotfl2: After the first day, though, I was hooked, and had a great time with the staff at my school! It helped that it was a tiny school (by tiny, I mean the entire 12th grade consisted of 10 students). There just wasn't much to be intimidated by. Little did I know how sheep shearing season would cut into the student body, but that's another story. :rolleyes1

:rotfl: Glynis, that's hysterical! And here I thought my husband's school was a riot when he told me some people would take afternoons off to farm.... at least they had more than 10 people per grade!

It doesn't get much more off topic than this...

Anyone active in church? I am Lutheran...I just got back from a congregational meeting....we had to vote on whether or not to remove the Pastor from our church, effective immediately. As much as I feel like it was a necessity...I can't help but feel guilty. It amazes me, I have never experienced the amount of poltics in the work place that I deal with at the church level.

Ok..I'm done. My head is just spinning. Sorry for the rant

Kristine

:grouphug: I can understand how you are feeling. While we haven't been in the exact situation, it's always hard when you find politics and drama as such in a church.... I guess it's everywhere, and it stinks to realize that even the church isn't immune. Hang in there, you'll be in our prayers!

Use to be a lutheran, joined to take communion with wife. Pulled her away and into a church that wasn't dead though. They weren't very supportive when we lost our son and couldn't give us any answers on his salvation.

The joy of having a stillborn child that couldn't get baptized. We know where he is and that Mya has her own personal Big Brother Angel.

We now go to a Non-Denominational and love it.

So glad you've found a place that's "not dead"..... that's really important! I'm sorry for your loss as well, and so thankful that you have some condolances (and the support you need!) now. :grouphug:

Mac,

I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I can't imagine having to struggle with that question. Heaven bless and keep your son, and give you guys comfort when you think of him. :grouphug:

(btw - where do you guys live in the Metro area? I work in downtown, but live in Plano.)

We live in NE Dallas and I work by the high five. We are looking at moving to Plano or Carrolton area.

Thanks for the kind words.

My sister in PA just called to tell me that our Mom was taken to the hospital late tonight. She is completely unresponsive but the last report was that her vital signs are OK. Not sure what the heck that means. She is 85 years old and not in the best of health. We had to move her from Assisted Care to a nursing home in August and she has not been doing well lately.

I have not seen my Mom since the fall and was planning to go up next weekend. So I am feeling badly now. It is so very hard to live 6 hours away from those you love and have your own family and life that has to be maintained. Anyway... please keep us in your thoughts. Thanks, friends.

You got it, Elin! Please keep us posted :wizard: :grouphug:

Hi all! :wave2: It's been a quite a while since I posted. Only now I think I have some motion sickness from zooming through this thread and speed reading up to this point. :crazy2:

Thanks to everyone who has posted or sent me a PM with photos of the designs I made. It is really cool to see them all and your families having a great time at disney!

Now I just hope I can stay caught up because reading hundreds of posts at one time is a bit too much for me!

Hey there! Nice to see you! We had a birthday thread for you, but I don't think you were around...... hope it was a fantastic one!!!! Thanks for checking in with us, and we hope to see you more soon! :goodvibes

I could use some prayers and pixie dust for my sister-in-law today as well. She found out in August (when she was pregnant with baby #5) that she had a brain tumor. She had a beautiful baby boy in December, and today is the day for the brain surgery. I am 6-7 hours away from them. I have three busy kids here, and I know that I couldn't really do anything there, but it is hard to feel so far away and helpless.

Beth

Oh my! She and your whole family will be in our thoughts and prayers tdoay! :goodvibes

I heard from the doctor this a.m. My mother is in the ICU and on oxygen and has responded to some stimuli overnight. She cannot be intubated due to her COPD. they have called in a pulmonary specialist to see if there is further deterioration there and also her cardiologist is running an ECG today to determine the state of her congestive heart failure. Her physician told us not to come running from Allentown, Boston and Virginia... but it is so hard to wait and not know.

Their prognosis is not good. If she revives from this "bout" they will send her back to the nursing home with a move to hospice in the future. And they are telling us that we may only have her with us for 6 months or so.

Please keep praying and thinking of us... Your thoughts mean more than I can say.

my prayers and thoughts are with your family!

Ok.... off to the dentist (big surprise, huh?) for this stupid extraction. I don't know what my deal is, but I'd rather have a root canal. I had teeth pulled for braces and the sounds you hear, and the things you feel (while not really PAIN, but still) just send chills up and down my spine. And then it seems that no matter HOW closely I follow the rules (no straws, etc) I get dry socket. And that just plain stinks. :guilty:

Sorry to have been such a complainer lately!!!! Ugh.... I'm just getting sort of worn out, I suppose. :confused3

Thanks for all your support! Hopefully you all will be around this weekend if I'm stuck at home and need somewhere to spend my time!

Have a fabulous day, and enjoy the beautiful weather if it's nice there, too! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I can totally sympathize with you and being so far away when something like this happens. I know you must feel not only guilty, but helpless as well. You and your DM are in my prayers. Hoping her health improves!

Personally i think it is just a new government fad - they come up with all kinds of mad ideas to try and keep us safe - like kids can't play conkers in the playground in the autum without wearing goggles in case they get hit in the eye!
OK....I'll bite. What's conkers??? :confused3
