Your points will come to you every Aug 1st.

FYI, you need to bank the points that you are getting now by Jan 31.

How do I bank them if I don't have a member number yet?

Deb - I believe we bought in March of 2001 and they gave us the use year points that in theory needed to be banked by March 31 - which I could not do since I had not closed yet

it was a choice on our paperwork - you should be fine - but call your guide tomorrow just to double check

You brag all you want...that is very cool for your DH!!!!

Deb - I have a call into Scot, he was off yesterday and today. I'll ask him that when he calls me back tomorrow. You may actually have an answer by then, but I'll still ask.

By the way - who ever said that once DVC has your deposit you can go is correct. We have friends from Long Island that went this past weekend using their points and they haven't closed yet!!! Thanks for the tips - you guys sure know a lot around here!

Lovespoohbear,

Congrats! Holiday season is a great time to go. Any questions, fire away!

I hope no one minds or is offended, but I feel the need to brag on my DH a little bit today. I don't know how large the news story of the space capsule "Stardust" landing last weekend was where you all live, but here is was huge! My DH is a field photographer for a local news station, and was sent to the landing site to cover the story. Unfortunately, the weather report wasn't so good and the forecast was for cloudy and snowy. DH had to be there at 3:00 a.m., and he left me at 10:30 the night before, to give himself time for the 3 hour drive plus any snow and ice he might encounter.

He was the first photographer to arrive, and the NASA people gave him a prime site. Other news stations started to arrive, but none of them set up their equipment because they all thought the cloud cover and snow would hamper their visibility. DH, however, was all set up and ready to go. Finally, about 3 minutes before the re-entry, the snow stopped, the clouds shifted and there was clear sky. The capsule appeared in a large fireball with a tail streaming out behind it and DH was the ONLY photographer that captured it! The NASA people couldn't get their camera out until much later, and none of the other news stations got it on film at all. After it was all over, everyone was scrambling to get DH's film from him. The Discovery Channel wants it for a special they are airing later this month, CNN wants it, NASA wants it, etc. DH was a little bummed, because he can't sell the film. It legally belongs to the station he works for. If he had just been filming on his own time, he could have sold it for quite a bit of money.

However, I'm so proud of him! He takes such pride in his work! Thanks for letting me brag a little. I'm sorry if this is inappropriate!

That is so exciting. Is there some kind of photography award that he may qualify for? It sounds like he deserves something.

It worked for me using RealPlayer - and it was very interesting! Also interesting to note that there was absolutely no news of it here in Western New York that I am aware of.

It was HUGE here! They talked about it for days before and the day of the local news was all about it. I think it's partly due to the fact the a couple of years ago, another space capsule was set to land in the same place, but things went terribly wrong and it crashed spectacularly in the desert. Everyone really wanted this one to work, and it did. Picture perfect! I just can't wait to hear all about the data gathered from it. That should be fascinating!

We have our pre-school carnival on Saturday. There are tons of games, food, activities, rides, and those bouncy things. We also have a silent auction and each class does a basket and stool.

I was in charge of our class' stool. I painted all day yesterday. The months are the children's fingerprints. I bought Rees' stool 2 years ago, Brantley-Kate's last year. so this year I HAVE to be the high bidder for Davis' stool, no matter the price. They are really cute.

Here are the pics of my finished product. I think it turned out very well.

Very cute. I think it will look wonderful in your house

Just one question for those with more frequent UTIs - when does the pain stop?? He gave me three days of Cipro, and I've only taken one pill - the other will be after dinner. When does it stop hurting??

I'm sure that everyone is different, but for me, it usually takes about 12-18 hours for the pain to stop. Icky!

Is your husband's name Jose? Was that his photo credit on the link??

As a matter of fact, his producer entered him in the NPPA Awards for the year. Since it's so early, he'll probably have one or 2 more stories during the year that he'll be entered for as well. He's won a couple of awards previously, and I've hung them on the wall. Too bad there's never a cash award, but the recognition is good for his rep. at the station.

We're recording it on the DVR so I can fastforward all the boring parts...just like I do every day with DOOL. :teeth:

I see you're online ITDJBW (Julia)! I'm not sure if you saw my post on the last page, so I'll say it again: Happy Birthday!!! :bday:

Amy :)

Sorry I am still playing catchup from the weekend, DH gave me a party - it happens as age catches up, and then I had to watch 24 and go for dinner etc so I am only getting to them tonight.

Nope. That photo was taken by a still photographer for the local paper here. My DH only does video.

Thanks for all your comments this morning...

Unfortunately, the dentist visit didn't go as planned. My #$*(@# teeth are so daggon soft that she started drilling and it literally collapsed on itself (one half anyway). :confused3 Grrrrrrr.....

So now it's an extraction Friday, and eventually a bridge.

All this, and I'm the worlds most OBSESSIVE teeth cleaner.... but it just doesn't matter. I just don't get it. Darn genes. :headache:

So now I'm here, studying the best I can, contemplating how much this is going to cost me this time around :faint:

I am so sorry. Some people have great teeth and others did not get the luck of the Genes. DH has great teeth and never went to a dentist until he was 22. Me, I went my whole life and have a mouth full of fillings. Our older 2 kids are polar opposites. You just don't know. Hope the extraction goes well.

The pain is usually almost completely gone about 12 hours after the first dose of antibiotics and completely gone after about 24 hours. Drink lots of water. Avoid caffeine and alcohol for a couple of days (because they can irritate the bladder). There is something OTC you can take for the pain (Uristat is one brand name) while you are waiting for the antibiotic to work I try not to take it, but I did once on a doctor's recommendation.

Glynis - I watched the coverage - very interesting and very exciting for your husband. Sorry that he won't get personal glory, but I am sure that those "in the know" in the industry will know whose footage it is.

Marti - Sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Jennifer - I am sorry to hear about your problem with the dentist. Good luck with the reconstruction. Have fun at your night class. I don't remember, did you want your PA or your NP? My cousin has both I believe and I could ask her if you have any specific questions. She teaches at our local college's nursing program.

Denise - Your stool is very cute. I hope you are able to purchase Davis' at a reasonable cost. We would hate for you to have to spend DH's bonus on that and miss out on DVC.
