Tammi, I was able to get the Mickey tree topper today. Thanks for the idea! I got it for only $12 after sale and discount coupon, so I am happy, and even happier that DH likes it too.

Glynis these recipes look great, I can't wait to try them!

They are really yummy! I love the ease of them, and my family thinks that I spend tons of time on them. It's a win-win for me!

Your tree looks good Ellen!

Ellen - the tree topper looks really nice.

We got our tree up, and the lights and garland put on it. I'm tired, so we are going to have to save the ornaments for tomorrow.

Thanks Tammi! I don't blame you for being tired. I think of you often, when my DH does all sorts of things like putting up lights outside, or putting the tree up, and I imagine what it must be like to have to do all those things by yourself. I admire your strength.

We got the call!! Our DS and DDIL are at the hospital. They are going to call us back once the Doctor confirms she is in labor, and then we will go up to the hospital tonight. Hopefully this is the real thing, and our granddaughter will be with us tonight or tomorrow!!

The only thing that I notice is that I don't sit down nearly as much as I used to. I seem to be going non-stop all day. Sometimes I feel like I need to go to work to get some rest. I have this thing that I've been doing in my head lately. Everytime I do something that John used to do (hang the Christmas lights, lug the heavy box with all the tree branches up from the basement, etc.), I find myself saying in my head "See....I don't need a man...."

Congrats on near arrival of your grandbaby! What a wonderful early Christmas present. Keep us posted.

Hope to hear that you will be a grandmother soon!

It must feel really great to be able to do those things, and I imagine I am capable of more than I reallize, but it is just so much easier to let DH do those things.

I'm sitting here waiting for the phone call that we can head up to the hospital. They want to make sure it's not a false alarm before we head up there, but then again first babies can take a long time. We can't concentrate waiting for the phone to ring.

I found an absolutely incredible second husband after a not so great (read AH) first one, so I wish for you the same. I can't believe we've been married 11 1/2 years now which is longer than I was married to my XH.

My oldest DS turned 21 yesterday. I had him when I was 22 years old, and now he is 21. There is no way on earth he is mature enough to get married or have kids, and yet that is what I did at his age.

Our DS having the baby is actually my stepson, he is 28. I feel like I need to tell everyone I am not really old enough to be the grandma, and yet I am so excited to be one! I miss when my own kids were little, so this will be the next best thing. Or even better in some ways ;)

I'll keep you posted....

Boy do I know how you feel!!! We have had mice here this winter already! We've set out traps, and killed a couple. Luckily I haven't heard or seen any in the last week, so I hope the word is out that we are only friends with 2 mice and they currently reside in the Magic Kingdom!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I'll agree with that statement. Chris came home and set traps in the attic, garage and basement. We'll see if we get any. I may buy a couple more for the camper as I would hate to find that destroyed in the Spring. We've never had mice in the camper, but neither had my mother until this year. It has been really cold here, but no snow so maybe they are coming in to keep warm rather than using snow for insulation?

Interestingly, Hunter's class is reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle and have a big project due a week from Friday. They have to build a house for Ralph then write a paper on why Ralph should choose to live in the house they made. Hunter is using Lincoln Logs to build a log cabin for Ralph. He worked on it last night, but we didn't have enough logs to make it big enough. My mom had the ones from when we were kids so I went and got those. Hunter came up with a cute house and when he was happy with it I hot glued all the logs together. The building is one piece and the roof is a separate piece so he can remove it to show the interior. When I got the blocks from my Mom I found some of my old Little people furniture. There was the refrigerator, a table and chairs, desk and chair, couch and 2 chairs. He used another chair for a toilet as it has the hole for the little people to fit in :lmao: There was a bed too. I used some scrap material to spruce them up and to make curtains. It looks pretty cute. I also had some Christmas Village accessories that I no longer use like street lights and shrubs. The street lights are now interior lighting and the shrubs are in front of the house. So ralph has electric lights  I think Hunter wants to put in a Christmas tree and maybe roof lights, but we'll have to see what I can find. He still plans to build a garage and use a big box to create a yard with a pool and playset (more doll stuff). I think we'll cover it with chicken wire to make it cat proof that will be his security system.

It sounds like that mouse has a nicer house than I do! Good job, Hunter.

I am going to go try & scan some pictures in the pc now.

I use to collect the little people items. I thought they were so cute & if you have complete sets, they are worth some money.

Sounds like the house is going to be awesome, you will have to post a picture!

Hi all!! I'm not sure if I'll catch up tonight since I'm about 20 pages behind. Yikes! Thanks for the pictures Kristine. I love the group picture after the wedding...all those matching shirts can only mean a DDA gathering! We're down to 3 days and a wake up and I don't think I got much done today. I did run some needed errands so those are done.

Tonight I am getting the autograph pages finalized and ready to print and starting to print the shirt designs. I also have to finalize my excel sheets to print and get my trip notebook ready.

Tomorrow I am making a Santa suit for a cow. Yes, a cow. Well, the Chick-Fil-A cow and it's only the jacket. My sister is the marketing manager at a local CFA and she is hosting a Breakfast with Santa Cow on Saturday. Apparently the rental costumes you can get don't accomodate the cow's massive neckline so I said that I would sew the jacket for her. It is a very simple pattern so I'm hoping that it won't take too long.

Wednesday is box unpacking/moving day. Thursday we pack, finish getting ready etc. And Friday we are out of here. I'll try to drop in as much as I can! Hope all is well!!!
