I finally got in touch with my doctor this morning and told her my concerns. She had actually met with the radiologist after my appointment on Wednesday and went over the CT bit by bit with him. The only abnormality of any kind was the one big stone in my left kidney. That is not the problem, but she wants me to keep the urology appointment as she thinks there may still be a connection since there are crystals in my urine. She says that my gall bladder looks completely normal and that there are no stones at all. Having stones is normal in a lot of people so that is great news. She thinks that there may be some stress related lower GI thing going on. I don't feel stressed but whatever. She wants me to take Pepcid Complete and call back on Tuesday if I'm not feeling better. She attributes the extra gas to the pain
If I am not better by Wednesday she will have a chest xray done to rule out lung issues as that is the only organ that hasn't been checked. She also wants me to continue with the pain meds during the day until the pain subsides. So basically I have no idea what is going on, only that I am still in pain unless I'm medicated. I will get the new med tonight and give it a shot, hopefully she is right and it is just a GI thing. It would be nice to have this resolved before the holidays.
So that was my morning. This afternoon we went to Nick's presentation of Eric the Red. They just finished a unit on exploration and each child had to make a shadow box, map and a detailed research paper on their explorer. They memorized the paper and did an oral presentation. Nick was the first to go so he had to explain the whole process before doing his presentation. Of course the microphone kept fading out, but he was loud enough that we could hear him anyway and he remained composed even with the technical difficulties. The teacher even made a point of complementing him on his composure. I was impressed that he did not seem nervous and he remembered everything with no hesitation. I'm prejudiced of course, but I think he did the best job
Hunter also had his presentation today for the Mouse and the Motorcycle. Parents were not invited, but I heard that he did a great job. He was pleased with himself. When I went to his classroom to get him he was obviously upset. I finally got him to open up and he was just upset that he didn't get to go to Nick's presentation. I didn't even know that he wanted to go. His response was "Nick is my brother, of course I wanted to be there for him"
I had no idea.
