Wow, you have me crying my eyes out over here...Thats one thing that my friend said he was petrified he would have to do--escort a friend home.

After i read this, i called Steve and just told him i loved him--he had no idea why i was calling, but it made me feel better...Steve is like a brother to me and is leaving for Iraq again in less than a month..i just wanted to hear his voice after reading that... :grouphug:

I was crying so hard I snorted a couple of times by the end of the story. I just was so touched by the picture that I needed to share.

I'll get them for the afternoon on
Christmas Eve (pageant is at 3:30 and Mass at 4:00) then drop them off at his house after that. He will bring them home later that night. Then I will have them Christmas day until sometime in the afternoon. They will then come back here at night because he has to work the next day, but I took off so I can go hit the sales!

That's good. I wanted to make sure you had family or friends to spend Christmas with. If not I'm sure your DDA family would bombard you with phone calls :teeth: to keep you occupied.

I've tried several. If you've got questions, just ask!!! It's my second favorite thread!!!

Glynis we got your card today....your babies are adorable!! Jim did ask if they were siblings....I looked at him like he was crazy.

Aww, thanks! I guess I'll keep them!

My kids are the best. I don't know if it is the season or that I'm not feeling so well, but I got 3 hours of straight snuggle time tonight.  Chris and I were snuggling on the couch and Hunter curled up with me. He never left my side for 3 hours. Nick and Colby both came and snuggled a bit   then they'd be off for a while then they'd be back. I finally had to put them to bed as they have bowling in the morning. It was a good night in the Brooks household :teeth:

I actually finished my Christmas shopping tonight too. I had to run out for my new medicine so I picked up the rest of my lists and quickly too. I was definitely not in the mood to shop.

Hopefully tomorrow we can finish wrapping and pick up that mess. Things are coming together on that front. My Mother has taken over the Christmas Eve Party planning. I just need to cook the turkey and have the house ready. Everyone is bringing a dish or two to share so there should be plenty of food.

I even got to watch a Christmas show tonight. I don't know what it was called but it had Rudolph and the Toy Taker. It was pretty cute and Nick and Hunter watched it with me. Chris and Colby went to bed.

Be careful!!! It's an addicting thread! That's where I got the recipe for the microwave peanut brittle.

Here's a tip. Go straight to page 40. All the recipes have been indexed there and you'll be able to find them a lot easier!

Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys. My kids love that movie, too!

I think you have the greatest family! They really seem to know what you know! What a cool thing!!!!!

Those are were the symptoms I had and had tests and they came back with no gall bladder or other issues only reflux. :confused3 :confused3 :wizard: :wizard: that you can get something figured out and that the pain goes away.

Interesting. How did they end up treating you and do you feel better now?

Deb

Hi Kristine :wave2: How are things going for you?

Thank you all for the replies about Aug. I will be thinking about it :teeth:

I was thinking that the Island of Misfit Toys was a previous one, but I think you may be right.

Well, my kids are settled down watching "The Year Without a Santa Claus", so I have some time to DIS. I love that Christmas show! I think it's my favorite! Brings back such wonderful memories!

What's going on with everyone? Got any good plans for the weekend? We are attending a Christmas breakfast at our church tomorrow morning, then a nephew's birthday party in the afternoon. I'll pick up our latest family pictures in the afternoon and take the kids to the library. Alan and I are thinking about taking the kids to a movie in the evening. I'm going to check to see if Charlotte's Web is playing anywhere near us.

What are your plans?

Good Evening Everyone!

Seems like I have been so busy lately to post! I do try to read or skim when I have a few minutes, but that is even hard to do.

Love receiving all the Christmas cards and post cards from all my DDA Family, it really means alot to me and my family.

Tammi, I looked at the link you posted with Alyssa's preschool program. It was adorable. Thanks for sharing!

All of the pictures lately have been cute!

Leighanna had her Christmas program on Tuesday night. It was cute. I took a few pictures, but I haven't even had time to upload them yet!

Deb, sorry you haven't been feeling well lately. I have been suffering from a backache myself for the last week. It just will not go away! I just try to put on a happy face and keep on going. No time for me to get sick now!

I did manage to get the rest of my Christmas cards to the post office today. Too bad I ruined half of the cards I had printed with our collage in a sink full of hot soapy water. So after some looking around I found cards that I had gotten a couple of years ago that accept 4 x 6 photos, so I just had one of our photos copied and inserted them in for an exchange. Too late to order replacements now! Oh well, there is always next year!

Take care everyone!

Deb

I still have pain from time to time, like yesterday and today but lets say I was miserable before and at times was considering going to the ER and didn't want to do anything. I am on Omeprazole for the reflux but that is all. Not sure if it was a virus or something but I am alot better but still have days when the reflux is bad and then I have back, shoulder and sinus pain. So I really don't know what was causing the pain or causes it but they never found anything except reflux and I had a cat scan, chest xray, upper GI, and ultrasound. So who knows.:confused3 :confused3 I really don't know but that has been my experience, it is frustrating.

Sending :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: that they find out what is wrong with you.

We have no plans for once. I have scheduled the whole weekend off as I wasn't sure how I'd be feeling. We plan to take the kids bowling in the morning then just get basic household stuff done around here. It has been nice having time to just chill without feeling pressured to get this or that done. I'm sure the weekend off will be heavenly. We have a bunch of parties next weekend so we want to get most everything done this weekend.
I need to make something for the kids parties on Thursday. I need to bring fruit to Hunter's party. Nick wants me to make cupcakes using diet lime pepsi for his (easy request :thumbsup2 ) Colby's party is a potluck lunch. I'll probably make mini sandwiches or something that Chris and I can eat without being bad.

I've decided to make a diet friendly turkey stew for any pot luck parties that we have over the holidays and I'll make a dessert that we can eat too. Even if I don't completely stick to my diet I will at least have options available if I bring them myself. I've worked way too hard to screw up now. How is your maintanence going? This is such a tough time of year.
