Good morning everyone!!! I'm not sure how much I'll be on since we'll have 15 here for BBQing this afternoon and poor Mama has been at work since 4am so will need a nap first. So, I will be getting everything ready.

However, I just wanted to let you all know that Phil made it last night around 7:30!!!

 :cool1: :cool1: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :dance3:

He ended up stopping just eat of Columbus as well and sleeping for a long time as he didn't feel well, but that made him up for finishing the drive yesterday. Once we found out that it was only $40 to return the truck late he relaxed enough to take better care of himself. Thanks for all of the prayers and PD!

I'm so glad that he made it safely!!!!!

Enjoy your holiday today with your WHOLE family!!!

Good morning! :sunny: Happy last day of summer. What's everyone doing today? Whatever it is, I hope you all have a great day!

We're not doing much here! Alan is flying home today, and I'm not sure what his plans are. The kids spent the morning cleaning their rooms and are now all happily playing at friends houses. I'm taking the twins to the beauty shop this afternoon for haircuts before school starts (I hope I remember to take pictures), and I'm not sure what we'll do tonight. If Alan feels up to it, we'll grill, if not, I'll make Mexican lasagna.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get melted wax off of a sofa?

Don't ask....:sad2:

Scrape what you can off with a knife. I use boiling water to get melted crayon out of clothes (Jacob left a red crayon in his pocket and I did wash. Yikes!) I don't know if that would work on your sofa though.

Here's something I found on a stain removal web site. Hope this will help!

Put the garment in the fridge for a few minutes. Then gently scrape off the excess wax. Next, put a plain brown paper bag on your ironing board. Put the garment on top of the bag. Now put another paper bag on top of the spot and iron (on low to med setting) on top of the bag. You will see a dark spot on the paper bag. Good! Now move the paper bag under the garment to a clean spot. Move the bag on top to a clean spot. Iron again then repeat the steps until there are no more spots on the bag. Then launder as usual. Steve B. from Everett, WA writes; "In all of the remedies for wax removal it has been my experience that an iron with a Teflon base should be used to prevent the wax from wicking through the paper or cloth and sticking to the iron plate."

This is for clothes, but maybe you could try something similar with your sofa!

I just said to dh this morning, "You know our 20th anniversary is in 2008, and Matthew will be going into his senior year of high school. We could make it a shorter trip..." He just rolled his eyes and said, "And so it begins." How do you all get your husbands to want to go to Disney every year? Or did you all just get the good ones? :teeth: Only kidding. I love dh.

I've been wondering the same thing! I love Alan to death, but things would be perfect if he would agree to go to Disney every year (more would be better, but I'd settle for once a year).

Thus ends my P3.

Beth and Anne Marie - I love your pictures! They all turned out so well! Looks like you both had wonderful times with your families!

Thanks for all the suggestions on the wax. The problem is that it is on the side of my couch. In the hopes of not sounding too much like a big baby, I think I will wait until my mother gets here in a few weeks and we can tackle it together. :teeth:

Where is Martha Stewart when you need her??

Claire, did someone already mention this to you??

Residents of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland are eligible to receive the Disney Dining Plan for FREE if they book a package that includes a five-night or more stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and a five-day or more theme park ticket, now through November 6, 2006, for arrivals between August 12 and September 29, 2007. For each night of the stay.

That is a great oppportunity......I wanted to be sure you knew about it.

Lynn

::yes:: We can't take advantage of it unfortunately as we can't book until next year for a whole ton of reasons... I did however work out the other day that the dining plan wouldn't be worth it for us as neither me or DH are big eaters and we're both really picky. It would be much better for us to stay onsite with an AP code or a internet site rate than pay rack rate for free dining.

Besides it's a con compared to the normal free dining code. Whereas for that you have to have one base ticket per person for the UK one you have to buy tickets for every day of your stay - which wouldn't work for us as we'll have APs.

But thanks for thinking about me :thumbsup2

Beth,
I just emailed you the photobucket invite. I haven't posted all my pictures on there yet. I have to get a digital for Christmas ..the film camera is too time consuming scanning & uploading.

Your pics are great - can you not get the pictures loaded onto a cd when you have your films developed? Probably too late now but might be worth bearing in mind. We got some pics developed from a disposable camera on our trip at Walmart and got them printed and put on a cd at the same time. Didn't cost much to do it :)

Me too, me too! The kids were driving me crazy yesterday! They really act out when Alan is gone, and it is so annoying. I know it's because they miss him, but still! Sheesh!

I got them all put in bed, and then I snuggled in front of the tv to watch "Shall We Dance?" Another great chick flick! I just love Richard Gere! This was a great movie! I'd highly recommend it!

I just zoned in front of the tv...what I should have done was put in Spanglish...I am doing a secret pal and that is what my secret pal sent me this month....anyone have any opinions on it?

I really quite liked the movie! I don't generally enjoy Adam Sandler, but I thought this was quite an insightful movie! I would recommend watching it!

Happy Labor Day DDA!

Quick update:
We were discharged yesterday morning, but not home yet. My mother and MIL were concerned about me having to be by myself with Caroline since Brian goes back to work tomorrow, so they convinced us to stay at my inlaws house for a few days. Well, they want at least a week, but I think I'm too anxious to be home for that. It is nice to have help until we get into a routine with the monitor and medicine. We're also still trying to adjust feeding times and amounts. She's been more awake and alert the last few days and is eating more.

Home Health will be coming several times this week and once a week after that to help monitor her weight and assess her. So far everything is going well. We had LOTS of false alarms with the monitor last night and she was very fussy. We didn't get to sleep until around 6am. We were up by 8am, but that's because Christopher was anxious to hang out with us.

It's difficult to get to the computer here so I probably won't be posting much. I will check in on PM's if I can. For those of you who email me, I probably won't get them here so PM's are better. I know I have some to read right now, but I'm almost out of battery on the laptop. I'll try to get back in a few hours.

As for me, I'm feeling pretty good. I took a nice long shower and I actually plan to put makeup on today or tomorrow :teeth: .

I would appreciate it if someone would PM me an update on June and let me know if there is anything more I should know, or if anyone else needs prayers. Again, thank you all for your prayers for Caroline and our family.

I hope you all have/are having a wonderful day!!

Great news, Dawn. I'm glad though that you are staying with your inlaws. It will be easier on you in the long run. Plus maybe you can get a little rest.

Isn't it great how a shower and a little make-up can perk you up!?

Well, here is how I did it... In 1996, for the 25th Anniversary of WDW we took a family vacation. It was the first time in 8 years that we had been to WDW. We had a wonderful time at the Caribbean Beach and I had started reading the AOL boards about WDW and knew all the wonderful things that Disney did at Christmas. I decided I wanted to go back for Christmas (long story about my Dad dying and us needing a new family thing to do at the holidays). When I approached Bob about it he was not pleased and said he didn't want to go back, "But if you want to go... I know you will do it anyway, so go ahead." So, I did! I took both DDs (10 and 18 at the time) and we went for 5 days in December, staying at the BWI. We did the Jolly Holidays Dinner Show, the Candlelight Processional and MVMCP, returning home on Christmas Eve. When we saw Bob at the airport, Kristin (10 at the time) walked up to her Dad and said, "We had a wonderful time. We missed you. You better decide to go back next year because we are and we are NOT coming back on Christmas Eve!" That was the last time we discussed NOT going for Christmas!

I still go alone with friends or just the girls at times, but every year we are at WDW celebrating the holidays our way.

That's a scary thought, isn't it?

I'll start: To date, I've lost 97 pounds.

Anyone else want to 'fess up?

WOW! Glynis. That is WONDERFUL. I didn't know it was that much. What a great thing for yourself.

Since January 16, I have lost 62 pounds.

TOTAL DDA losses: 159... There is a whole person right there (and one who could probably go on one of our diets at that!) :rotfl:

Beth and Anne Marie -- loved looking at your pictures.

Karen -- lots of pixie dust and hugs coming your way.

Nothing concrete to report on June's condition. While I was out this morning for a whole hour, Melanie called. She left a message asking me to call her back, which I did. She did not pick up her phone so I left her a message telling her I would be home all day and to please call me back. She has not done so yet. When and if she does I will come back and let you all know what she has to report.

Hi everyone!!! I forgot to mention that I was gone for the weekend! I'll soon be uploading pics from Greenfield Village as soon as I can find my camera in our bags. Other than that, nothing exciting here!

Sounds like a good idea, I didn;t know you could do that..I'll have to check it out.
