Great photos, Anne Marie!

I didn't get the Photobucket invitation. Should I PM you a different e-mail address or does it just take a while?

Hey everyone

Just thought I would stop in and thank you all for the well wishes and prayers

I have been having full blown anxiety attacks all week and actually begged Steve not to drive to the hospital - I told him I was going to tell them I ate a HUGE breakfast and might be pregnant to avoid surgery - my nurse was laughing and said to me at one point - "you do realize this is elective surgery don't you?"

But don't worry - once the gave me my "happy shot" it was smooth sailing - I was out for about an hour and left the hospital about an hour later - I came home and slept all afternoon and now I contemplating dinner -I have felt pretty nausous and walking in the house made me throw up but I have taken some phenergan and I am getting pretty hungry -

the doctor told Steve he was able to fix it and it was pretty bad and definately needed to be fixed - and I should be back to new pretty soon - I have 6 weeks of physical therapy

I got a shot of mrphine at about 2:00 at the hospital but I haven't needed any more pain medicine yet - I am sure I just jinxed myself - I am so exhausted - I might just go back to sleep!!!

I'm glad to hear that things went well. You've probably given us another update by now, but I'm so far behind. I hope that you're on your feet in no time.

Happy Labor Day DDA!

Quick update:
We were discharged yesterday morning, but not home yet. My mother and MIL were concerned about me having to be by myself with Caroline since Brian goes back to work tomorrow, so they convinced us to stay at my inlaws house for a few days. Well, they want at least a week, but I think I'm too anxious to be home for that. It is nice to have help until we get into a routine with the monitor and medicine. We're also still trying to adjust feeding times and amounts. She's been more awake and alert the last few days and is eating more.

Home Health will be coming several times this week and once a week after that to help monitor her weight and assess her. So far everything is going well. We had LOTS of false alarms with the monitor last night and she was very fussy. We didn't get to sleep until around 6am. We were up by 8am, but that's because Christopher was anxious to hang out with us.

It's difficult to get to the computer here so I probably won't be posting much. I will check in on PM's if I can. For those of you who email me, I probably won't get them here so PM's are better. I know I have some to read right now, but I'm almost out of battery on the laptop. I'll try to get back in a few hours.

As for me, I'm feeling pretty good. I took a nice long shower and I actually plan to put makeup on today or tomorrow :teeth: .

I would appreciate it if someone would PM me an update on June and let me know if there is anything more I should know, or if anyone else needs prayers. Again, thank you all for your prayers for Caroline and our family.

I hope you all have/are having a wonderful day!!

Dawn

Im glad you guys were able to leave the hospital--things are looking up! Hope you are able to get some rest while staying at your in-laws!

Hi All!

My prayers have been with all of you. I've been trying to get caught up all weekend. I'm still back on page 3902 but have read the most recent pages.

Dawn-so happy to hear that Caroline continues to improve! I loved her photo-what a cutie!

Tia-so happy to hear that Phil has made it home!

Karen- :grouphug: so sorry for all you're going through.

Kate- :wizard: Hope your recovery is quick.

Marci-hope your Mom improves. I've been dealing with simular issues with my Mom. My Mom had major surgery over a year ago. We almost lost her many times during the 6 weeks she was in ICU. She's actually relatively healthy now but she won't learn how to take care of her colostomy bag and seems happy to let the folks at the nursing home do everything for her. She's only 76 and lived such an active life before-she was still driving and left her home every day. Now she lives in a very small room and won't leave it even to go to dining room. It is so sad and hard for me & my siblings not to feel a bit angry that she has decided this is good enough for her.

Congrats to all for all the weight loss. I really need to back on track!!!

Beth/Anne Marie-great photos!!!!

Still getting over this cold/flu thing and still suffering from PDD-I think I need a new countdown to recover from that. My DH was reviewing the school calendar and actually suggested we go to Disney in March when he saw the kids have a few teacher conference days. I was shocked. He brought it up out of the blue. I don't think I'd want to pay peak rates to go in March but at least going back is on DH's mind. I'm thinking maybe go late April before my AP expires but no conference days. Or my birthday is 5/6 and the kids have 5/9 off. I could use the 1 day ticket I had to buy for our Aug trip to renew my AP. Lizzie's AP doesn't expire til 5/19 so hers would still be good. DH actually looked at a few photos from my May trip and seemed interested in seeing the Flower Fest. We're thinking we'd actually try going on our own this time so we could get just 1 room at POR. I am thinking we should just wait til next August but go for 2 weeks.

Do any of you ladies know where to buy those plastic photo buttons?

I bought some at Joann's a few weeks ago. They were in their kids' camp collection and were 70% off. Originally $1 for a package of 2 so I paid about 15 cents each.

I've uploaded a few photos to photobucket. If anyone would like a link to all the photos PM me your email and I'll send you a link to my Ofoto photos. I only took about 400 photos on my 8 day trip with 3 kids. I took 600+ on my 4 day adult trip.

Here's the DDA photo from my real camera. Anne Marie's DH took this one.

We found the Leave a Legacy photo Lizzie & I had taken on her 7th birthday. I was so happy this was there as they said it could have taken 6 months.

On our arrival day we had dinner at Marrakesh in Morocco. I can't believe I've never read on the Dis how LOUD this place is. Emma started crying shortly after we ordered-very unusual behavior for her but it had been a long day-she's not used to getting up at 6:00am. I took her out and made a mask with her and then DH took over after he ate so I could eat and we took the dessert to go. Food was great but I wouldn't rush back here with the kids.

Hello DDA :wave2:

The boys and I have had a relaxing afternoon over at a friends house. We hung out at the pool and just enjoyed the company. We are back home and I think David and I are going to go get some BBQ. I have been wanting some all weekend and it wouldn't feel like a real Labor Day weekend without any.

Talk to ya soon.

Lynn

Day 2-we went to MK for the EMH at FL. This was GREAT. As you can see the place was nearly empty:

There were characters everywhere-not to sign autographs but to play with the kids. Stitch was on Dumbo and Chip & Dale were on the carosel:

The Pooh characters were in the Pooh playground. Here's Joe playing hide & seek with Pooh:
DSC03242.jpg

We did lots of rides in that hour and still had lots of magical experiences with characters. We met up with Beth & Ann Marie and then rode the new PoC for the first time. It was really cool! And then took monorail to GF for 1900 Park Fare breakfast at 11:10. This is definately on our list to do again. The food was great and as we were one of the last sittings the character interaction was awesome!!! After breakfast we went back to the hotel for a nice long swim and then had dinner at Garden Grill. (I forgot my camera in the room). This was another huge hit for us. When we got there our table was in a nice quiet spot and the characters came right over before we even ordered our drinks. This worked perfect as we were able to really enjoy our meal without worrying about the characters. The characters did come around again and the kids got more hugs but no need for autographs. The food was really good and the kids were very happy with their cupcake dessert.

Congratulations Glynis! And it would be great if you had to visit Upstate NY, although I think that may refer to the entire state minus NYC... We call ourselves upstate or western ny here in Rochester.

Chris and I will be in Lake George This coming Saturday. There is a big car show there. I know that it is probably closer to us than you, but I thought I'd throw it out there for anyone who might be near there.

I need to get dinner going and Lizzie to bed early for the first day of school tomorrow but I wanted to post my photos of Capt Jack before I leave for a while. This guy was incredible. My friend saw another guy a few days later and said he wasn't nearly as good as this guy.

Nice photos Bernadette!

That MK EMH was great..I should have done another one while we were there.

I'd go with the 2 weeks in August..well that what we did this year (11 days) & I felt like we were truly lost in our vacation. It was long enough to enjoy & totally forget the real world. We didn't the news & I didn't look at the paper..Dana mentioned we could come 2x next year but shorter or 1 long trip. I like the long trip better. Hoping to be there again same time as this year..the crowds & weather were great. I have been in March, December2x, November, & October & this was the lowest crowds we have ever experienced. Last October it was down right crazy (& I took my kids out of school for that!) this was just perfect. Sure, it was hot & my hair looks like I stuck my finger in a electric plug & my makeup melted off by 11am..but the kids could get soaked without worrying about them getting cold or sick.

I loved, loved, loved the Beach Club & would go back there in a heartbeat.

Hey Bernadette, that was our jack too! Wasn't he awesome!!!! Spot on!
I saw a video on youtube of 2 other Jack's & our guy was the best! We lucked out seeing him.

I too wish we had done another FL EMH but it just didn't work with our schedule.

I'm really leaning toward 2 weeks in Aug. I didn't think the weather was too bad this year. It was hotter when I was there with Lizzie in May.

I'd love BC but I'm not sure my DH would. He liked POFQ better than Poly. It was nice and quiet and he liked the food court. I don't think he'd like POR quite as much but that's were we'd have to be with 1 room.

We also really need to try this Disney thing on our own. I've always had a friend with me to help with the kids. Well the first time she went I was 6 months pregnant with Lizzie and left Joe at home with DH. Then she went with us to help out with Lizzie 4 1/2, Joe turned 3 on trip and Emma 11 months. We had a double stroller and 3 car seats. I never could have done it without her. She's been with us on all our trips since. DH doesn't travel all that well but he did much better this trip. It was really great to have my friend and her DH with us but my friend & I called our DH's slow and slower. It was a challange keeping 7 people on track. I really don't feel like we saw everything I wanted to. I missed Peter Pan-Emma wouldn't do it and I never made it back. It is one of my favorite rides. We didn't see any parades. DH & I went out to dinner one night alone and saw Illuminations but the kids didn't see any fireworks. We only went swimming 1 time. Didn't do EE-it broke when we were there, didn't do Splash or BTMR, didn't see Lion King show, didn't see Mickey Magic show.....I need to go back!!!!!!!!

The dining plan certainly made financial sense for us as I paid $500 more for the rooms with the plan than I would have with an AP discount and I figure we probably got about $2,000 in food. And it was fun to try places and food we wouldn't have otherwise but I think we spent too much time eating. It would still make sense to do it next summer if they offer it again but I would do more breakfast and not worry about "wasting" points on cheaper meals.

Well...I should be cooking but DH brought the kids to the beach for a few minutes so I'll post a few more photos.....

I love Lake George. Wonderful memories from a summer there in 1977. I think the closest DDA to that area would be June... :worried:

Hi, everyone,

I hope everyone is having a good holiday. It is nice and rainy here (we NEED the rain), and I've spent the day getting caught up on things around the house. Other than that, our weekend had been pretty quiet, although we did do a marathon trip to/from Austin on Saturday for the first Longhorn game of the season. Man, was it HOT!!!

As an update, our Florida/WDW trip was short, but great. We had a wonderful time at the BC, some really good meals, great character interaction, and what I thought were really light crowds (I was even there the same time last year, and noticed a BIG difference). Other than the heat and humidity, all was perfect.

Oh, and I also did a lot of postcard-mailing. For those of you that asked for one, I would imagine they should be arriving any day!

As I'm likely several hundreds of pages behind, can someone pm me (or point me towards a catch-up post) of things I need to know? Denise had shared with me the news of June and Caroline, but would also like to know the latest on them (and others). I have been thinking of all of you, and miss hearing about your lives!

He actually touched me as he ran off. I felt like I had been touched by Jonny Depp. :rotfl:

Day 3 AK-We road Safari in the rain and while it made it VERY hard for my camera to focus we saw tons of animals and our driver was the best ever. She was so into her role.
