Thanks!!

he stocked up on all my favorites yesterday!! Everything tastes bad though! So I don't want to waste it on the good ice cream!! ;)

He is being so great - I camped out on our bed with scrapbooking stuff and he is downstairs watching football (I guess that is a bonus for him) I can't even move my leg without help today - I have a pretty high threshhold of pain - when I had my breast reduction - they kept coming in and trying to give me pain meds but I didn't need them - the nurse told my mom she could not believe my threshhold of pain - and again when I had my c-sections I was told the same things!!! So he knows that it must be bad b/c I have broken down crying from the pain several times!

All I have to do is call him and he comes right away! I did manage to eat the donuts - so he offered to go get more - I had some jello earlier and some popcorn -

I keep telling myself the pain will go away soon - if my kidney stones were the worst pain I ever had at a 10 -I would give this an 8! and I totally was NOT prepared for that!

plus I know in a few days it will be better - eventually putting me back to better than I was - so I hate to complain about it at all!!!!

:grouphug: :grouphug: Kate :grouphug: :grouphug:

From what I understand of the surgery, there are a few nerves that have to knit back together for the heeling to begin. And then after that, smooth sailing..... :boat: Keep your eye on October...... :dance3:

Hi everyone!

Things are finally calming down here, so I thought I'd post what I hope is our final update before we go home!

They took Caroline off the antibiotics yesterday and removed her IV early this morning. She's had really good feedings over the past 2 days. She's still spitting up, but it's much, much better. They thickened her formula even more and she's now on the maximum dosage of Reglan that they can give her. The Zantac is definitely working because she's not crying after feedings now.

We had the first part of our Infant CPR training this morning and we'll finish up this evening. A nurse from Home Health came with our monitor and trained us on it. Caroline is now on this monitor rather than the NICU monitor, so tonight will be a test run for us before we leave the hospital. She'll wear it 24/7 for the next 3-4 weeks.

We've also been to the pharmacy for our medicine "training".

She weighed 6.11 lbs last night so she's now exceeded her birth weight. The dr said he wants us to feed her on demand now rather than waking her up every 3 hours for feedings. We'll probably average every 4 hours now, so we'll get a bit more sleep.

Other than updating her medical condition, I've never really posted much about Caroline herself. She's a very sweet baby :cloud9: . As the jaundice wears off she's starting to become more alert. For a while there we wondered if we'd ever see her with her eyes open for more than 3 seconds.

She was pretty jaundiced in the picture I posted, so I'll try to take some new pictures once we get home. Within the next few weeks I hope to get my hair cut and colored and I may even post a picture of myself  . I hear some of you are doubting my existence... ;)

Hey, I saw you at LTT. No only do you exist, you're cute.....   Hugs to your family too...

Me either, Jennifer, which is why I hesitated so long telling Clare. But I figured she would eventually find out and didn't want her coming back to us and saying, "Blimey! You guys should have told me!"

Hey Elin have you been practising doing impressions of me? :teeth: :goodvibes

Dawn that's fantastic news - I'm so glad you can finally take her home. And I could see from the pic you posted that she is a beautiful little princess princess: Can't wait to see a picture of her with her mommy though :)

Elin - I forgot to ask before - do you have an email address for Melanie? Could you let her have the link to June's thread so that she can print it out and show them to June.

Just a quick Good Morning before I head off to work again, I left early yesterday so I didn't make much headway at all, I'll probably end up working over today to try and catch up some.

Have a Good One,

Debbie

Goooooood Mooooorning DDA :wave2:

We are all getting ready for church in my household. The boys are moving slowly and grumbling. They should wear grumpy shirts to church today. It is always a challenge at our house to see if we can get to church in the the doors without having an arguement. Doesn't always happen but we try.

I am having my two older kids and their families over for lunch after church for my son-in-laws 29th birthday. The lasagna is already made, put together, in the oven and timer is set.

Everyone have a great morning and I will check back with you later.

Lynn

After promising Abi 3 x this summer that we would go to the zoo and renew our membership, we're finally going tomorrow!! :goodvibes

Hope everybody has a wonderful Sunday.

Glynis- the Fairy Cooking book made it here and Cassidy said "So Cool", Abi hasn't seen it yet.

Sounds like a fun day in store for you and the family, Theresa! Enjoy it.

As for the water in the crawl space... we have an physics trick of using a garden hose and creating a vacuum and using good old fashioned gravity to empty it when it happens. In the 15 years we have been here we have had to do this only about 5 times, and when it happens there are usually no sump pumps around to be rented as everyone else has worse problems than we do!

Hope you get some rest today, Steffy! Sounds like quite a day you had yesterday. I don't envy you driving in that rain from Ernesto!

:teeth: It was pretty good, wasn't it? Actually, we have all been speaking with a British accent around here all summer. It is one of the ones that Kristin had to work on over summer break. Got to the point that we all started sounding oddly British. Her dialect class started last week.

Wonder what we will sound like at WDW in October??? :confused3

I don't have anything but a cell phone number. The next time I talk to her or Buddy I will see what I can do about getting one. I figure since Buddy posted for June at the hospital maybe she has her laptop with her there? :confused3 Maybe if they know about the thread they will sign her onto the DIS to read it. I will see what I can do.

I SO heard Robin Williams saying this! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Enjoy the day with your family, Lynn. The arguments will be over by the time you read this, anyway. :goodvibes

Well, I slept in until 6:20 this morning! Want to know why??? I am hobbling around here today like a little old lady. In addition to getting into the crawl space to start the water draining, I had to replace the belt on my dryer. Bob has no patience when it comes to stuff that takes time on the weekends, so I finally shooed him out of the laundry room and did it myself.

Let me tell you what... I should have spent the $75 to have a repairman do it! I am so sore and I have a bruise the size and color of a plum on my right arm where I had to push against the dryer body to get enough "purchase" to move the #*$&% idler pulley close to the motor. AAAAAAACK! I would rather teach 100 6 years olds at once than do that again. And to top if off, now I have to finish the laundry! ;)

So I am done with my P3 for now but will be back to check in later this morning.

GOOD MORNING, DDA! :sunny:
