Thanks for asking, Amy. She's no better, but no worse. PT was in today, and she couldn't bear her weight, so I'm not sure where we go from here. I don't think the neurologist came in yesterday as the doctor said he would, so maybe we will find out more tomorrow. It's so upsetting seeing her like this. She shakes from the massive amounts of steroids, and she talks out of her head from the massive amounts of pain killers. I should buy stock in Zantac, as much as I've been going through lately. If it weren't for my DH and my DDA friends, I would be in much worse shape. I appreciate all of your good thoughts and prayers, and having a place to vent when I need to. Pictures of all of your cute kids also bring smiles to my face. Keep them coming!

Thanks for the update!! I am sorry there's no answer yet...but I will be praying there is one soon!!

Thanks, Christi, we are. Terra and Connor are getting along much better and only have minor scuffles each day. I don't think that there has been any hitting for at least 2 days (knock on wood). Now we just need to get Daddy here! (He'll be here by Friday.)

Speaking of which, Phil has been feeling especially "zonked", as he calls it, meaning that he is constantly feels like he needs to sleep even though he is getting more than enough of it. He is a little concerned about driving while feeling that tired so could use some prayers and pd if you all could. He will be on the road either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning through sometime on Friday. I know that he will stop often if he needs to, but I know that he is worried.

PD for Phil

Nope. Consensus from the computer experts is that the hard drive is fried and there is no retrieving the data. The tapes are gone (probably the same place as all my missing socks), so we're back to square one. Alan is getting ready to meet with the client tomorrow to explain and start over.

Yuck!! I hope it gets resolved for Alan. I am sure the client knows that things can go wrong with computers.

You bet! This was a new brownie recipe for me. It turned out so good! The recipe called for frosting, but I didn't want to take the time to frost them, so I just dusted them with powdered sugar. They were so yummy! I made a double batch, so I've got after school snacks for the next couple of days, too. Plus for me!!!!

Here's the recipe:

Cinnamon Brownies

3/4 cup baking cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 C. butter, melted, divided
1/2 C. boiling water
2 C. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/3 C. flour
1 1/2 to 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 C. semisweet chocolate chips

Frosting:
6 Tbs. butter, softened
1/2 C. baking cocoa
2 2/3 C. confectioner's sugar
1 to 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/3 C. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

1. In a mixing bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/3 cup melted butter. Add boiling water, stirring until thickened. Stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla and remaining btter. Add flour, cinnamon and salt. Fold in the chocolate chips.

2. Pour into a greased 13X9X2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool.

3. For frosting, cream butter in a mixing bowl. Combine cocoa, sugar and cinnamon; add alternately with the milk. Beat to a spreading consistency; add vanilla. Add more milk if necessary. Spread over brownies.

Yield: 3 dozen

Enjoy!
oh that sounds yummy

So since I haven't gotten all of my trip pictures posted or even some from everyday I thought I would do a more manageable picture posting project. These pictures are from my cousins B-day party from today. The party was held at Kauffman's it is a local chicken BBQ place that has some other stuff as well, but the chicken is their specialty. They even have chicken wagons that they can rotissere the chicken on-site and lots of schools and other organizations hire the wagons to have a chicken bbq fundraisers, it is very yummy and a good fundraiser. The local Boy Scout camp during the summer has one of the 6 wagons every Friday night for family night when the families of the boys come to camp.

They also have yummy ice cream and a mini golf course, which due to the weather was closed. The best part is the most expensive meal is only $7 plus drink and tax. That price includes your entree item, a potato, and a salad bar. They have a back room which is where the party was held.

Here I am with the now 9 year old Birthday boy

Here I am with his 11 year old brother
DSC05559.jpg

Before I know it he will be taller than me :sad2:

My brother on the right and hopefully one of these days my uncle is on the left (he has been engaged to my aunt for at least 5 years and been going out for maybe 8.) They make a great pinata holder don't they??? Luckily for them it was only a pull string pinata.

The tractor cake, made by my Mom (Do we notice a theme with tractor parties???) My cousin saw the tractor cake at my Dad's party and wanted it but some of the stuff was Cars themed. I think the cake should have been tractor tipped, what about you???

Vicki-That truck could probably fit both Minnie and Pal Mickey in the truck bed plus a friend, :rotfl2: It even is a dump truck. It's huge about 2 feet high.

I now figured out how to get them the same size but I picked a size that is too small for my liking. But it is still not what I want because they are loaded in photobucket at the small size. :sad2: Let's just say that Photobucket and I are not getting along very well today. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the pixie dust. He was up all night long with a couple of computer techs who couldn't retrieve anything, either. He's going to try a couple of other things, but he's not too optimistic! He'll probably just have to start over and hope the client will be ok with that.

Oh Glynis I am sorry to read this. I hope all works out well, please let us know.

I wasn't sure whether to post it, and then thought what the heck... it's very strange isn't it!

I actually just googled it - and there were quite a few Swindlehursts in America on the 1920 census.

This is what it means apparently:

Swindlehurst
English (Lancashire and Cumbria): probably a habitational name from Swinglehurst in Bowland Forest, West Yorkshire, so named from Old English swin ‘hog’, ‘wild boar’ + hyll ‘hill’ + hyrst ‘wooded ridge’.

So apparently my husband's ancestors looked after pigs on hills! :rotfl:

Matt Houston? can't remember
McMillian & wife was good.

How about TJ Hooker
Airwolfe
Hunter

From the imdb.com site that I learned about from Kate.

Matt Houston is a millionaire Texan based in Los Angeles. Now among his many businesses is a private investigation agency which for some reason takes up most of his time, which infuriated Murray his business manager, who is left holding the bag. He is assisted by C.J. Parsons, his lawyer and friend.

Lee Horsley was the actor that played him.

We used to watch Airwolfe all the time. Hunter & TJ Hooker were on during busy times in my life so I didn't see much of them. Ooh, another good one was:

Spencer for Hire

Ooh, another purchase that I'll have to save for! :lmao: Not sure Chuck would be happy with that!

Love the pictures of the party. Looks like fun was had by all!

Brother Bear has a song .......Welcome to our Family time, Welcome to our happy to be time, blah blah blah. We love it and it's upbeat.
Thank you Paula. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

As I now have that song stuck in my head. :rotfl2: :lmao:

But perhaps it will keep my mind off of food and that would be a very good thing. Cause oh my good any and everything sounds yummy right now, even stuff I absolutely do no like. It is defitinitely due to TOM but it is really annoying. As I have one bite of popcorn, and one of peanut brittle, some grapes, and 3 jelly beans, and a few mandarin oranges and so on and so fourth, let's just say it is pretty bad and I am not happy about it. Although I am proud of myself for only having a small amount of each item instead of a whole bag and I ate things that aren't completly bad for you.

I even tried a trick I just read in a magazine to smell certain scents like peppermint, vanilla, banana and they are supposed to make the hunger go away. It so totally did not work and made me crave bananas which I despise, peppermints stick ice cream, and chocolate chips cookies. I think their theory is flawed or I am messed up in the brain. :teeth:

I have a really dumb question -- how did you change the pages to the size you need? I have really cute 8x8 EK Mickey scrapbooks that I'm using. For our last trip, I took 3D EK Disney stickers and put those on colored cardstock. It worked well to use a clipboard as Kate suggested and have them signed. The problem was, since the stickers weren't flat, they took up a lot of room. Plus, there aren't a lot of those stickers, so some of the characters signed on blank pages and I have to find clip art to put on their pages. It would be much easier to print all the pages out with the art on them, but I'm photoshop illiterate. Is there an easy solution?

I have done all of my pages 8" X 8". I'm going to remove the kids names for Paula. I was going to add her kids names, but if I leave them blank I could make a disc for both of you. Just let me know.

I liked the Lazurus Man series that Robert Urich also was in. I was so disappointed when he got cancer and they never made another season. That was a cool concept for a show.

Sorry about the MIL and I hope all went well with the deck, picutres please.

Thanks for asking. It rained here all day today, but we built the deck anyway. We have a 12 X 12 canopy and since the deck was 10 X 4 we were able to put the tent over the deck and work under it. We still got wet, but did I mention that the deck is done. Oh yeah, it looks amazing and I am totally stoked. Chris, My brother and a good friend finished it after I went to work tonight so I was too dark to take photos when I got home. I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

I love that song....I really like most of the recent Disney movies because of the wonderful soundtracks they have.
