Of course, my oldest on the way home said he liked Disney's fireworks better as they had music and Tinkerbelle.

Wow, for what was supposed to be a do nothing day turned into the complete opposite. We ended up having a cookout for Eric's side of the family so we spent all morning cleaning and getting the food ready. Our house has been a wreck since we returned from vacation. Eric's sister and BIL stopped by to drop off our nephew, Alex, as they head to Virginia for a few days. They have some things to do before they are transferred to England at the end of the month. It cannot come soon enough as the 2 hours they were here my patience wore quite thin.

After the all the inlaws left, they took Emma with them, Mo and I watched a movie to unwind and then she went to bed. Eric picked Emma and Alex up around 8 as one of our neighbors had a bunch of fireworks to set off. We had a great time with the families on our street. It was so cool as we had fireworks going off in about 6 different locations around us.

I updated Pal Mickey's thread with some pictures from our travels and am working on a mini trip report.

With that I am headed to bed. See you all in the morning!

Love the new pictures in your sig. The girls are just precious!

Tammi -- love the pictures of the kids from yesterday. Looks like they had a terrific time!

Wow! It looks like all the travelin' pals are having a lot of fun. I love all the pictures on their thread. The one of Lindsay and Jonathon holding him on the beach reminds me of their Tink picture in their signature.

My mom and sister are "worried about" me. They think that I've lost my mind over Mickey & Minnie. Mom can't believe I made the girls take Nicky to Japan with them and reminded me how much they must love me for having done so. I know that! Mom said something like "I thought Tigger was your favorite Disney character?!" Yeah, he is but that doesn't mean that I can't love my travelin' Mickey too!

Good Morning DDA,

Happy 4th to all!!

We're back! We had a Great Time visiting the Mouse in his House, there were a few Cons, but mostly Pros. This was the second time we were at WDW when someone died, the first was in the 90's when a worker fell off the Skyway and this time was the boy on RNR, I can't imagine the pain his family is going through. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I'm not a good trip reporter but I'll share some photo's later, as you can see I've updated my signature with the official DDA, WDW photo. I hesitated to do it as I hate pictures of my big behind, but what the heck, here goes nothing. I've got tons of pictures to sort through, thanks to info here on the DDA I went Photopass Crazy and purchased the CD so I have all of those to play with also.

Here's one of my all time favorites of my DGS, his favorite character was Stitch, (guess that's because they have so much in common) and he feel asleep with his Stitch hands on.

Have a great holiday everyone,

Debbie

Debbie, I absolutely love this picture! What a sweet, handsome looking young man.

Deb, I enjoyed reading your trip report. That was some awesome place that you were camping. It looks like such a great place to keep the kids busy and occupied.

Glynis, I love hearing you talk about your canning with so much enthusiasm. Chuck would like to can but I just can't bring myself to do it. Listening to you makes me a little more excited about it.

When I was growing up, we had to can because it was so much cheaper (even to buy some of the fruit & vegetables we didn't grow ourselves). It was a necessity. I do remember how much I loved seeing all those jars lined up on the shelves. I really miss my mothers applesauce. There is nothing better in the world. However, it was a lot of work and I came to hate it. Mom also had to sew my clothes anytime that I got new ones because we couldn't afford to buy new. Sometimes, it was great because mine were unique but sometimes I just wanted to be like the other kids. That is why I have an aversion for sewing which I'm trying to break.

Someone asked about a Pal Mickey sized Minnie. Kate bought me one while she was at Disney. She is $13. Here is a picture of the two of them sitting side by side in my sisters chair. She is a lot skinnier than him but they look good together. Of course, you know I'll be getting lots more pictures of them over the next couple of weeks. Becky & I went to the fireworks last night. I picked up Mickey to take him with us and Becky made me bring Minnie too (she isn't as averse to my attention to Mickey as Katrina is :rotfl: ).

Here are Nicky & Minnie watching the fireworks last night. There were some really cool ones that looked like Mickey's head. A big red circle with two little blue circles for his ears. I noticed them and didn't say anything but my best friend commented that they looked like Mickey ears. They had about 5 of them through the fireworks. Becky & I really enjoy these fireworks. They aren't as fantastic as the ones at Disney but they are awesome for small town fireworks.

Here is a picture of those of us that ran in the black bear run yesterday. In the back row are my sisters boyfriend Carl, my sister and I. The middle row is my nephew Brandon, my cousin Penny and Carl's daughter Nicole. The front row is Carl's daughter Madeline and my niece Taylor. Becky didn't feel well in the morning so decided not to run and mom is having problems with her feet so couldn't participate this year.

Here is Brandon at the end of the race.

Here is Taylor almost at the finish line.

Mom was upset. She didn't see me finish the race and missed getting my picture. I told her not to worry about it. We have lots of pictures of me running this race. I just wanted to let you know why I'm not sharing one of me at the finish line. Actually if you look real close there is a pair of green shorts and white shirt between the two posts in the background of Taylor's picture - that is me. Mom was concentrating so hard on getting Taylor's picture that she missed me. I let Taylor pull ahead of me because I always like to kick in at the end of the race and wanted her to cross before me.

For those of you not following Pal Mickey's adventure, I wanted to share this picture of the girls & my mother with my brothers family. This is a picture of all of them before the girls left Japan to come home.

Here's one of them at a restaurant in Japan. I'll have to wait for Becky to get up to tell me which restaurant this is. They went to a sushi place and a curry place in Japan. I think that this may be one of the restaurants that Bill manages on the club. He manages restaurants and clubs for the Yokota Air Force base.

I don't mind the hard time. It makes me feel like part of the family! My personal preference would be the grotto. It's a lot easier to get pictures there without a crowd, and Mr. Toad can be quite difficult sometimes. What do you think, Paula, Tia, and Christy?

I am reading and making a recap post, but this one has to get a reply for Christi.
Grotto is good for me.

Here are some pictures of my kids at Tokyo Disneyland. They hung out with my brothers two older stepkids Kirsti & Daniel.

They said that it looked pretty much the same as Walt Disney World. They said it was very Americanized.

FOr those of you who have said you would like to go to a DL meet in 2007. The month will be Sep.
I think the list so far is
Glynis, Tia, Chanon, Vicki, Paula, Christi, Stephanie, June and Theresa. If anyone else wants to join in, come on.
Also for those listed above, would you PM me your email address so I can send you a questionaire. Or if you'd rather me post it here I can.
Christi, Glynis and I are working to make this a wonderful trip for you all.

Off to take Ellie to school and then back to reading all of the posts I have missed.

Here are the pictures from yesterday that I promised. These are from the 4th of July/Old Home Days parade:

I got bumped out of my dial up 5 times while trying to post these. The last 3 days my dialup has been horrible!!! I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing seems to help. I wish that we'd get a good DSL around here.
