The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 10

Well, I finally am caught up on the thread. I'm going to post a couple of pictures from the girls trip and then head to bed. I've got more to post but I'm tired. I ran a 6k this morning with my 5 year old niece, Taylor. I felt better running it than I have in years - it's amazing how being 25 pounds lighter makes it easier. Taylor did great. This was her 4th year running/walking it. She started when she was 2. Becky started at 2 as well. She was the youngest to ever run it until Taylor did it at two but her birthday is September instead of July so beat Becky by two months. My dad and one of my high school teachers were instrumental in making the run successful. It was started two years before dad got involved but almost died.

Hi June! Glad to hear you had a good time.

Hi Everyone! I'm back. AND I'm all caught up. Thanks for keeping it down to 58 pages in four days. Our trip was really relaxing. It was a nice campground (KOA).

Happy 4th of July to my DDA friends. I know it is over for most of you but I still have 42 minutes. The fireworks were awesome. Becky & I went to see them in our favorite spot with my best friend and her husband. Chuck wasn't up to going this year.

Sounds like you all had fun time! We do not go to the fireworks here in town either. It is just to crowded. We go to my bil's & watch the fireworks from the comfort of their backyard, Much more relaxing :goodvibes

I hope everyone's day went well and that all the fireworks displays went on as scheduled. We were able to picnic and swim until about 6 when we were chased indoors due to storms. It rained off and on until about 8 and then we all (4 families) decided that instead of going to the city's fireworks, we would set off all of our own here on our street. There is something to be said for sitting in your driveway, with close friends, in your own neighborhood without fighting the traffic, and enjoying a holiday. The kids all had a great time and just now fell fast asleep. I'm about to upload some photos so if I have any good ones I'll post them.

Ok, I'm off to bed. I've updated Pal Mickey's DDA Adventure thread with the pictures from Nicky's trip to Japan. I'll post pictures here tomorrow of the girls adventure in Japan and our trip to my mothers in Engadine. It is midnight and I should be in bed. Talk to you all tomorrow.

This is just my HO - but surely you need to stuff it yourself otherwise you might as well just buy a plush from Disney :confused3 :goodvibes

You know this could just be a VERY clever marketing ploy... people's friends buy the skins then they're shipped all over the world so that people in local BAB stores get jealous and have to book a trip to Disney :rotfl:
That's one ingenious marketing idea. :rotfl:

If you want to look for a recipe or more info please remember to google spotted dick recipe or spotted dick pudding... or you may get a shock :rotfl:
:lmao: :lmao: I definitely would have forgotten that without thinking.

Good Morning DDA,

Happy 4th to all!!

We're back! We had a Great Time visiting the Mouse in his House, there were a few Cons, but mostly Pros. This was the second time we were at WDW when someone died, the first was in the 90's when a worker fell off the Skyway and this time was the boy on RNR, I can't imagine the pain his family is going through. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I'm not a good trip reporter but I'll share some photo's later, as you can see I've updated my signature with the official DDA, WDW photo. I hesitated to do it as I hate pictures of my big behind, but what the heck, here goes nothing. I've got tons of pictures to sort through, thanks to info here on the DDA I went Photopass Crazy and purchased the CD so I have all of those to play with also.

Here's one of my all time favorites of my DGS, his favorite character was Stitch, (guess that's because they have so much in common) and he feel asleep with his Stitch hands on.

Have a great holiday everyone,

Since I had to work, M Thomas Mouse was up and ready to go. I managed to find an iron on patch for July 4th since I am not design talented at all. He was happy with the design so off we went. It ended up that for most of the day there was just myself and one other person answering the phones. A few others came and went as they had taken the day off. She and I took turns or worked together to sell discount park tickets. Thank goodness there were actually periods of time when it was quiet. But MTM was happy to see the seniors.
We still have an issue with the front walkway and can only have two or three people walk across it at a time. We are hoping to get that fixed as quick as possible. MTM pointed out that some seniors cannot go up the stairs without help so we don't know who might be having to stay home until it is resolved.
Maybe when the Governor visits on Friday, he will see the problem and we could get faster action. He is supposed to sign some bill.

Anyhow here are some pictures. The first one is his patriotic shirt.

This is from the concert on Sunday night. The New Holland Band played in Mount Gretna. It is a favorite place for some people who have summer homes. Our children from our three camps go to the lake during the summer for field trips. Thomas and I had front row seats.

I took a short video of DH and others playing a slide trombone number called Hallelujah Trombone. Thomas really liked that one. DH is the second trombone player. Just click on it and it will come up on another screen and then click again and it will play. Just don't have your speakers on too high!

Enjoy the 4th
Glad to see MTM remembered the 4th of July when getting dressed. :teeth: It looks like y'all are having lots of fun. :wizard: that you get your walkway fixed for the seniors.

I am so glad that we had our cook-out yesterday, as the rains held off until early evening and everything was done. Plus it was nice and windy.

Today the storms are back and its very humid.

Thank you to Janet, for telling me I got this milestone, as I never even noticed.

Wow, for what was supposed to be a do nothing day turned into the complete opposite. We ended up having a cookout for Eric's side of the family so we spent all morning cleaning and getting the food ready. Our house has been a wreck since we returned from vacation. Eric's sister and BIL stopped by to drop off our nephew, Alex, as they head to Virginia for a few days. They have some things to do before they are transferred to England at the end of the month. It cannot come soon enough as the 2 hours they were here my patience wore quite thin.

After the all the inlaws left, they took Emma with them, Mo and I watched a movie to unwind and then she went to bed. Eric picked Emma and Alex up around 8 as one of our neighbors had a bunch of fireworks to set off. We had a great time with the families on our street. It was so cool as we had fireworks going off in about 6 different locations around us.

I updated Pal Mickey's thread with some pictures from our travels and am working on a mini trip report.

With that I am headed to bed. See you all in the morning!
Love the new siggie. Very cute. :sunny:

Well I hope everyone had a HAPPY 4TH OF JULY. :thumbsup2
We went up to the HS to watch the city fireworks, they were nice. Of course, my oldest on the way home said he liked Disney's fireworks better as they had music and Tinkerbelle.
:cheer2: I would also like to thank all our military for serving our country. :cheer2:
