The Darlings Caved Already! A Sept. '12 PTR -- Sept. 26 - TR link posted!

I'm going to take my seat and come along for the ride... cause WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY! :dance3:

:banana::banana::banana:
:dance3:
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

See you there chick!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

For anyone wondering, this nut is my cousin who is going to Disney at the same time "we are" Hahaha

Her Pre-Trip Report is here: PTR-Does being there every day in my dreams count? for anyone interested! You might just see a bit of yours truly. She's a new poster to the Dis and is a true Disney nut who belongs here!

Also, I changed my avatar. :scared1:

Custom avatars have to be so small!

Yeah - dates - Now its time for a ticker! :cool1::woohoo::cool1:

Denny and I stayed at Pop 4 nights a couple years ago (in September) for an anniversary trip and we upgraded to the DxDP for a couple hundred dollars. It was awesome. We had such a great time. We loved staying at Pop in September because we basically had the whole 80's pool to ourselves in the afternoon. Well, us and a few little kids.

Can't wait to hear what your park plans and ADRS will be.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures of my kitties. Yes - Max has quite the coat and a big poofy tail. There are tons of black cats in the world, but I think the long fur makes him somewhat unique.

ok first of all I'm the nut and you have the dancing bananas?

secondly, who had their trip planned first? so I think YOU are going the same time I am, and not the other way around.

finally... thanks for the plug! Hope to see some people over on my PTR!

YAY dates! September seems like a great time to be there. The weather's calmed down a bit from summer and so has the crowds. I like that you guys are planning some shared meal while keeping the trips independent. Personally I would find it hard to manage a larger group (But I'm an anxious overplanner perfectionist).

I think the only way for us to do it is to keep the trips independant of each other. Wendy and Johnny have been there a LOT, this will be my second trip, and my mom/brothers first, so it would be kinda silly to try and completely tour together.... however, that's not to say if we run into each other at a park we won't attempt to maybe do a ride or two together!

:woohoo: On a September trip! It sounds like such fun...a week at Pop.

Alex and I stayed there last October, and I thought it was especially nice in the fall. Not sure why, though, maybe the cooler temperature made it better.:confused3 :rotfl: Which, by mid-September, should be pretty decent. Still hot, but not scorching. :thumbsup2

You're right!! I'll have to get on that!

I really love Pop! I'm a big fan of the 80's pool (though perhaps not the 80's section in general! :rotfl:)

Me too! :lmao: I have very few plans made so far so I have to buckle down and get to work!

I had a black cat once, he had super long legs and tail so we called him Spider. He wasn't fluffy though! LOL

I almost forgot - cute Avatar!
Thanks!!

You ARE the nut and yes, bananas. Get used to them here on the Dis ;)
Since this is my PTR, you are going at the same time as me when we're here. In all other contexts, you might be right.

Having dates is fun! LOL I like it there in September (not going to lie, liked it in November more! The weather was just perfect!)
Last year I managed 6 people and it was just way way way too much. Everyone came to me for "what's next?" I'm happy to be doing this next one a little separate, and with someone who is also a planner like me who will have no trouble making her own plans!

This is a good point, different touring styles. Also we tend to like completely opposite things.

:woohoo: I'm pumped for a week at Pop! I'd like to do October sometime, just to see. I find September pretty hot sometimes, (but the nights are awesome) and I did November and lovvved the days (but I was cold in the evenings). Maybe October would be the perfect time! LOL

Your plans sound great! Yay for being able to go during Free Dining!! (And when your cousin is going as well!) :goodvibes
Free dining is so awesome, I love it! Every time we've gone we've had free dining, it's quite a draw that's for sure.
This particular cousin and I were supposed to go together twice before, it's going to be nice to actually get to this time!

Whoo-hoo!!! Another Disney trip!!! :cool1:

You're so lucky you got into Pop Century... When I called, right after they released the free dining codes, they told me that the only value resorts that I could get free dining were one of the three All Star resorts... :sad2: I didn't book the trip... With my project at work, a vacation this year isn't looking to promising... Deadlines are sometimes more important than Mickey... :scared1:

Whoa, do you mean that there was no availability at Pop? Or that they're not offering free dining at Pop? :scared1: I haven't actually booked yet, hope I don't run into any issues! I know my cousin has booked at Pop and got the free dining promo... hmm...
Sorry to hear a vacation isn't in your future right now. Work is required to feed the addiction though! :sad2:

So happy you have decided to take a trip this year! I can't wait to hear about all the plans and I am loving the new ticker:thumbsup2

I called the day they released the free dining code to Disney Visa holders and Pop wasn't one of the value resorts participating... Then I called on the Monday they released the free dining code to the public and got the same story... Maybe I called too soon and they wanted to fill up the All Star resorts first before making Pop available...

Yeah, having work interfere with my Disney vacations really bites, but no job, no Disney... Gotta do one so I can do the other... ;)

That's weird... we booked 2.5 weeks ago and got free dining at Pop... now our travel agent had to call the Disney Travel Company in order to get it, but we got it!

Maybe that's the difference between me calling Disney and you using a travel agent...

I called Disney 407-W-DISNEY on Friday March 3rd and again on Monday March 5th, each time with a different free dining code, and both times they told me Pop Century wasn't one of the value resorts participating... :sad2:

Guess next time I'll go thru a travel agent so I get the resort that I want...

:yay: We decided life is too short to wait 4 years!!

Very interesting... perhaps a TA is the difference!

Today Sheeka had to go back to the vet for a checkup. He wanted us to leave her there with him for a couple of hours. Instead of driving back home (we live in the boondocks!) we did a few small errands. When we did that and had still not got a call from the vet we decided to visit our travel agent, just to see.

I walked in the door of Maritime Travel and Melissa looked up and smiled. "Are we going to Disney this year?" she asked. I laughed and said "That's what we're here to find out."

So we sat down and she called Disney. We talked about options and prices and what we wanted and got our final price. She put the vacation on hold for us and said that it requires a deposit before March 5th to be official. We set out on our way, picked up our dog (who is doing fantastic, bandage is off and her stitches look good. She's healing very well!) and went home. We checked out the AirMiles site, had enough for two flights, so we booked them. :scared1: It was done!

We have flights!

We had a little more running around to do in town so we stopped back in at the travel agency. We handed over our flight information to Melissa who called Disney to arrange Magical Express, and while she had them on the phone she put a deposit on my credit card.

We have a reservation!

Guys! It's official! We're going to Walt Disney World!

:thumbsup2 :cool1:   :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :thumbsup2

:cool1: Woo Hoo! Let me be the first to congratulate you! :woohoo:

Did you also apply for a TA job while you were there?

Glad sheeka is doing well with her recovery.

Go celebrate you newly booked trip. That's awesome! :thumbsup2
