The Darlings Caved Already! A Sept. '12 PTR -- Sept. 26 - TR link posted!

Congrats on booking your flights and having an official trip:banana:

I was really hoping to get back in early 2013 but I just got hit with a stupid $1400 car repair bill today, so I don't think it's in the cards.:headache:

Yay for caving!!!!!!:banana::banana: How exciting that you're starting to get things booked for your trip!! (And I love the new title for the report!)

:cool1: Woo Hoo! Let me be the first to congratulate you! :woohoo:

Did you also apply for a TA job while you were there?

Glad sheeka is doing well with her recovery.

Go celebrate you newly booked trip. That's awesome! :thumbsup2
Thank youuuu!! :cool1:

I did poke around to see if they're hiring! Unfortunately it's a tiny outfit with two full time staff and that's really all they need. I'm going to keep looking though!

I think we're going to celebrate with an elaborate movie night tonight. I'm trying to throw something together quick.

so. freaking. excited!!!!!!! party:

We are going to FINALLY be in Disney World at the same time! It may have taken us 4 years, but damn it it's happening!

btw your msg is my 365 today!
I know, seriously how long have we been saying; "Imagine if we could go together!?"

Whoo-hoo on booking your trip and getting flights!!! :cool1: Let the countdown begin!!! :dance3:

Was the travel agent able to get you into Pop Century??? :wizard: I'm guessing that's the magic piece I was missing... Next time I'll know better than to try to do things on my own...

And I'm glad Sheeka is healing nicely... One less thing to worry about... :thumbsup2

party: :woohoo: Congrats on making reservations!!!! That's wonderful! (And it's good to hear Sheeka is doing great, too.:thumbsup2)

Ahhhh, I can't believe you guys caved so quickly! Yay for having reservations, that's awesome! Did you make any ADR's yet? :cool1:  :woohoo:

A real countdown! And real plans! :cool1: Hahaha
Yes, she got us Pop Century with the dining plan. :confused3 She did say that none of her usual Canadian suppliers were able to get the free dining and it had to be booked directly through Disney (which I would rather anyway), perhaps they're being more restrictive about it this year? :confused3
Not worrying quite so much about Sheeka is great. :thumbsup2

I know, we swore no Disney this year but we just can't stay away! We actually got so excited we sat down and got all our ADRs done  That will be the next update. I'm pretty excited about a few of them!
And thanks, Sheeka is benefiting from all the good vibes from everyone here. :goodvibes

That's a lot of great news! :dance3::dance3: I'm just a little bitter that I was wrong with my prediction! Now you get to have fun planning :)
Omg, I have to actually check everyone's predictions! In my excitement I forgot all about it!
We're having so much fun planning already! Planning Disney is almost as much fun as going.

:rotfl2: I just knew you couldn't hold out until 2015! Maybe a year but not 3! I am so glad to hear you're going back and already have flights booked. I'm going early October and still don't have flights. Looking forward to hear all about your planning. Btw, I love the picture of you in the intro. Too cute!

You are so right....life is too short to wait! I have no problem making sacrifices if it means we get to go away! I love that you went and booked..then it's a done deal:thumbsup2 I am so excited to hear about all the planning now!

WOOHOOO I'm SOOOO excited that you are going back in September!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

Hope Sheeka is feeling better :wizard:

I wasn't too sure about holding out for three years, but I did think we could do one! :rotfl: The addiction has taken control!
We got our flights early because we have one option out of Sydney and were using AirMiles anyway so there's no watching for better prices that way. It's nice to have it done all in a neat little bundle!

You never know what the future has in store. I'm very happy we're taking this opportunity! If you don't know how many you'll get, you might as well take every one! :thumbsup2 I almost wish there was more planning to do, I feel like we got everything done within 24 hours! Now I'm lost again! Back to planning for 2015 I guess! :rotfl:

WOOHOOO I'm SOOOO excited that you are going back in September!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

Hope Sheeka is feeling better :wizard:
Me too! So is Johnny, for a guy who never wanted anything to do with Disney he sure is hooked!
Sheeka is doing a lot better, her incision seems to be healing and itching, causing her to want to lick it! She needs the cone of shame today. :sad2: lol

First off, congratulations to Nermel9 who guessed correctly when we would cave!

So, plans!

You'd be surprised how much you can get done in a short space of time, especially when these thing have been rolling around in your head for 6 months already! :rotfl:

First: Flights.

We used our AirMiles (collector points) for our flights. I live in Cape Breton, an island on the Northern tip of Nova Scotia, in the middle (oh ok, not the middle) of the Atlantic ocean. Our airport is very small and only has two destinations -- Halifax (Nova Scotia capitol, toward the middle of the province and about a 5 hour drive South of me) and Toronto. Most people in CB drive to Halifax and fly out of there. It's an international airport with LOTS more options. By using our AirMiles though, we get to fly straight out of Sydney and so we don't have to drive 5 hours to the airport! :thumbsup2 It's the same amount of miles from Sydney or Halifax.

First we fly out of Sydney at 6:15am. We go straight to Toronto, landing at 7:55am (local time, going back one time zone.) We have a two hour layover in Toronto which is perfect -- just enough time to grab our bags, clear customs and hopefully get a bite to eat. We fly out of Toronto at 10:05 and land in Orlando MCO at 12:50 :cool1:

For anyone wondering, this is our flight route:

(I posted this somewhere but I can't remember where! Sorry if this has been posted before!)

Coming home we fly out of Orlando at 8:00am meaning we have to be in front of Pop waiting for the ME bus at 5am! We land in Toronto at 10:44.

This time we have an additional stop. We fly from Toronto at 1:40 and land in Halifax at 4:38 (that's back through a timezone, just a 2 hour flight). From Halifax at 5:50 and landing home in Sydney at 6:42.

I love living where I live, but it makes for some lonnnggg travel days.

Next: The package!

We booked 7 nights at Pop Century resort. September 16 - 23. We chose a preferred room since we really hated being stuck way out in the 80's last trip. We got the free meal plan of course, but paid to upgrade to the regular plan. We got a 6 day park hopper with no water parks option. We also put in a request for a king bed!

I'll hold off on the ADRs for a separate post, as well as a few other little extras!

Woo Hoo .... ya gotta love airmiles don't ya! That's how we got our park passes for our trip this year!

I can't wait to hear all about your ADR"s!

That is great that you get to leave from Sydney. We drove to Halifax for our last trip which was 4.5 hours away from home and I really didn't like it (especially on the way back). Can't wait to hear about your ADRs!

Ack! I could've sworn I was subscribed to your thread before now! :confused3

Anyway, woohoo for booking your trip! :woohoo: When DH and I took our girls for the first time in '07, I was ready to go back... but it wasn't until 2010 before we took another family trip. DH said he could handle going to WDW every 3 years... so I immediately made it known we'd be going for our next family trip in 2013, and he was ok with that. Which is why I was surprised he agreed to our anniversary trip this October!

I remember seeing your flight diagram before too, and I'm still fascinated by the route you guys have to take! So many stops, but definitely worth it!

Yay for having your flights all worked out! Hopefully you get a great location at Pop!

We are avid AirMiles collectors, I even have the AirMiles app for my phone -- it tells me where all the sponsors are and it texts me when there are big promos on. This will be our third time flying to Disney with AirMiles! :cool1:

When Johnny and I went to Disney in 2008 we drove to Maine and flew from there. I didn't mind the drive there, but the drive home was torture! 13 hours after flying all day. Even with a hotel rest stop in there it was so long. I'm very happy to be flying out of Sydney!

I thought you'd been here before too! :confused3 haha well then officially, :welcome: to the party!
My DH could easily handle a Disney trip every 6 months. :lmao: When we have our dream big sessions and say "Ok, if we won a $50 million lottery..." it's always "buy a house close to Disney!" that comes up first.
Glad your DH agreed to your anniversary trip, there's no better way to celebrate an anniversary! :thumbsup2 Have you ever done an anniversary there before? Make sure to wear your pins, we got a few little extras last year with them. :goodvibes

Maybe it is in this PTR... haha oh well, it's floating around in Dis cyber space somewhere!
It's a long day of flying, but it's definitely worth it. When you've got something like Disney (or home after a long trip) to look forward to, the day goes by fairly well. :goodvibes

Wow, seeing that flight diagram makes me more appreciative of my proximity to Disney. Just looking at that back and forth plane path makes me tired. :rotfl: However, it's so worth dealing with that when it comes to a WDW vacation.:thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about your ADRs!
