~The Daily Grind~ 4/6/10

Nan Hope you're feeling better soon.

Well E's othro apt went...... Not great he's a class 3 which I guess there is only one harder to treat. The biggest saving grace is he's 9 so we are starting early enough that we won't have an up hill battle later. He is going to have to have 4 baby teeth pulled because of space on the bottom and the fact that one of the perment teeth is pushing sideways on th roots of another perment that is already in. I'm not sure who is going to take this worse him or me. The up side of this is that that can wait till school is out, the ortho can do everything before those come out. He will have an spacers put in then an expander on top, then a lip bumper on the bottom to keep his lip from pushing the teeth back more.

poor buggie bears.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Nan!

Christy, Morgan had a palette expander put on in October of 2008 (she was just over 8). She had a cross bite, but only one one side. Thankfully, it was a tension spring type and I didn't have to turn any key. She never ever once complained about it. Granted, her teeth weren't bad, but she did fabulous! She had it removed this January and is so pleased to be chewing gum and eating gummies again. Crossing our fingers that she doesn't need braces (everything was right in the right place when she had that 360 x-ray), but if she does, she does.

Lisa Knocking out the bottem of a screen? that was one of moms cats tricks. Good luck other than that how are they settling in?

That is exactly what she is doing. Doesn't matter if we have the window open from the bottom or from the top. She jumps up, and pushed against the screen. DH put new fasteners in the screens that are stronger, she can't pop the screens anymore!

Jennifer Wish we had that type of expander!! He'll have the one that we have to turn. Right now he's thinking we will only have to turn it every other day. He's trying to be conservitive but figures after this year of treatment he'll end up in a full set of braces at 12. Course he will have basketball which is the WORST sport for contact cause all you have is a mouth guard for protection. Baseball will be more than 1/2 over before he gets everything in and totally done before we pull the teeth.

Lisa Glad it was an easy fix. Dad actaully had to take small blocks of wood and screw them to the frame for extra support to keep the cat in. The pair she has now seem okay but there is 1 window on the 2nd floor she wants tom or L to put a bumper on.
